I don't really understand the extreme rage it incites for some. They're taking a scalpel to an infant's genitals and without any medical reason to do so. Is there any scenario at all, other than male circumcision, where you'd find that okay? For these babies, one of their first experiences after being born is being mutilated - having part of them be cut off for no reason. How does that not make you angry?

Maybe, but that's not a highway many folks would like to head down.

I don't think I'll talk about it again in public. Unfortunately, that's the safest way. It's not a discussion that will go well most of the time, gynocentric society is a concept that has roots as old as humankind itself, so it's tough to challenge without upsetting some people.

Yeah I was surprised by her saying that and wanting to be taken seriously. For me, it's a good indicator that the person saying it shouldn't be discussing equality at all. If you lack empathy and self-awareness to that degree you need to just stay in your cave away from other people imo. If you find yourself having to talk to people like her again, a link like this could be tremendously helpful. If you're super lucky you might actually change their mind.

Is this familiar to anyone? I'd be surprised if anyone who uses reddit, and doesn't identify as feminist, hasn't had a similar experience. I was told by one woman that guys don't understand what it's like living as a woman It's crazy how she can realise that, but not realise that the exact opposite is also true - that women don't understand what living as a man is like either. I'm actually too afraid to ask people's opinions in the feminist subs tbh That's sensible, if you want to discuss this k…

Good luck finding a couple of sacrificial lambs to star in it. Do you want death threats? Because that's how you'd get death threats.

I've literally never been asked to apologize for anything because I'm male. That's nice for you but... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSQzTKcUda0 Ever see a video of a female politician apologising for being a woman?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
