“Pregnancy affects women, not men.” - parenthood affects both parties. Requiring the decision to be made in the first trimester is absolutely bs when females get the option to opt out anytime during their pregnancy. The period where a father could opt out should be longer. Moreover, abortion mortality is significantly lower than birthing mortality and thus it would always be the safest option. Why? Just the necessities would suffice and it’s way better than the current child support system which rates the amount of money being dependent on the fathers financial abilities.

She consented to the risk of making a baby as did the father, however she has the option to choose whether the baby lives or dies whereas the father only has the legal ability to follow the ramifications that her choice entails. Both bear equal responsibility but not equal choice.
