A lot of men do the same with women or even other men. Shitty people will be shitty regardless of their gender or who they are.

With that kind of attitude, probably. If you don't see the point of doing anything nice for anyone else unless they return you with favours, then people can probably sense that.

Women can fight their own battles but still appreciate support from men. It always helps to have support from the other side.

I don't understand the reasons behind this post. Men provide companionship in a relationship, as do women. Men are human beings, not objects.

For what it's worth, I'm an avid feminist and that behaviour just reeks of hypocrisy.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/17 12:03 PM

Hey, I'm not denying the sexual appeal of young women. I just think it's hypocritical when men complain about "things they can't control" like height and then go on and on about women's age, like that's something they can control.

I agree.

The point is that they practically do not exist.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/02/17 12:56 PM

I never understood that argument. Most sexual encounters have nothing to do with reproduction.

But women hit the wall when they turn 18. I want young women, but they can't be immature. I need a young, but very mature woman. /s

Reality TV picks stereotypical, barbie-type girls who like attention (that's why they applied). The kind of women who will be running a society won't be the kind of women who want to apply to reality TV or the kind of women that reality TV viewers are interested in watching.

We need to get rid of the stigma of single people in general. Anyone's who's single is almost always assumed to be "looking for a relationship but can't find one at the moment". Sometimes we just want to be single. I don't think it's just women who want to define the relationship, etc. I know equal numbers of men and women who want/don't want commitment.

Exactly the same.

I'm not into casual sex (exclusive and relationship only) and prefer partners who are also not into casual sex. This usually means a low count. A high count itself isn't a dealbreaker, but a casual attitude towards sex is a massive turn off.

That might be true, but their perception is important.

I think that's an overanalysis of what happens in a social setting. If he was very conventionally attractive, it's likely that he gave off a cocky or arrogant vibe that certain women like/tolerate, but other women don't.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/17 10:58 AM

Anyone can be voluntarily celibate regardless of gender. It's just another life choice. The people who attach stigma to it aren't worth listening to. I knew a couple who just got married and they were both virgins until marriage. He was 23 and she was 22. They were proud of their life choices and no one ever ridiculed them. We respected them for their decisions.

Agree with everything you said. I once had a sort of argument with my friend who is non-monogamous because he couldn't get over the fact that I chose to be monogamous. He kept telling me that it was unnatural and that I was brainwashed and that I shouldn't be monogamous. I tried to tell him that it didn't matter if I was following societal standards, I personally desired monogamy. I'm fine with his non-monogamous choices, why can't do the same for my own choices?

I think calling these outings "dates" implies a romantic undertone that is inappropriate for a parent-child relationship. It also perpetuates gender roles and "damsel in distress" behaviour. Women like to be treated well, but so do men. I don't want my daughters to be raised thinking that they need men to open doors for them or pay for their food. Opening doors for others is considerate behaviour and should be practiced by everyone.

You're entitled to practice it in your own way, but so are other men. Just because they practice it differently and you don't agree with it, doesn't mean it's wrong or inferior. It's their own way of supporting causes that they care for. Not all men only do it to get in women's pants. Some may, but certainly not all.

Many A-list celebrities showed up, including Emma Watson, Rihanna, and Katy Perry. Of course, their voices do not matter unless they are up to your standards. That's how important your opinion is.

A man who cares about women's rights and issues is a man without balls? Damn. I'm really envious of the women in your life.

There is actually a list. It was widely distributed and you can easily find it if you actually looked for it. Assuming that women are doing it only for shallow reasons just because they put effort into their appearance is prejudiced and contradicting. If they don't look good doing it, they are unprofessional and they don't care enough. If they look good, then they're attention whores.

I'm Blue Pill with a very low N count, but I still think it's subjective. To me, what's important is your attitude toward sexual encounters. I don't do casual and prefer partners who are similar. There's a difference between having an N count of three from relationships and an N count of three from one night stands.

Because I genuinely don't like the stereotypical Chads or bad boys. Bad boy behaviour massively turns me off. Every single person I've dated has been an introverted, nerdy, nice guy. Most of them didn't have much luck with girls before me. I want someone who can relax and play video games with me at home. Of course, appearance is important, but it's important that I find them attractive and not that they're conventionally attractive. I like skinny guys who wear glasses. Muscular physiques turn m…

Self-defence should apply regardless of gender. If a woman is attacking you, defend yourself. That said, expressing your aggression with physical violence isn't right no matter who you are (this includes women slapping men).

I think limiting any parent's opportunity to participate in anything in their child's life is unnecessary and cruel.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/17 07:13 PM

No. I'm not usually attracted to men like that. I have an ex who looked like he could've been an athlete. He was 6'6 and people constantly asked him if he was a basketball player. He was skinny, nerdy, and introverted - pretty much the type that I look for. Muscular physiques and the whole "jock" personality aren't attractive to me at all.

I'm honoured that they think women are capable of any form of thinking at all.

I understand what you're saying, but getting the best results for you from women isn't necessary the same as giving them the best treatment.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/17 05:16 PM

Lol. Yeah. I totally get all my opinions about the TRP from emotional feeling because I'm a woman, not because that word has more than one meaning.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/17 05:15 PM
8

The feeling I get from TRP is that there is a lot of resentment towards women for not finding them attractive, but not everyone is going to find you attractive. I get that there is a small minority who are conventionally attractive and have it much easier (in both genders). I totally get that, but resenting all women and those people is not productive. If the people you are attracted to don't find you attractive, then you need to look for the people who do find you attractive. Resenting them for…

It's really hard to feel empathy for people who see you as sub-human and deserving of shitty treatment. Also, I (along with my siblings, including a brother) grew up in an extremely religious family like the one you described. My parents are also more red than blue. Everything was taboo. We were told nothing and had to figure out everything ourselves. I didn't even know that men had testicles or got erections until I was almost an adult. My brother didn't grow up to resent women or believe that …

Treating women like crap attracts a certain type of women (low self-esteem, unstable, codependent). Using anecdotes derived from interactions with these women to represent the behaviour of ALL women is just absurd. If anything, any kind of stubborn generalisation on a whole population is absurd.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/17 04:42 PM
3

Yep. I see these posts about how women are in their prime in their early 20s or something, and men in their middle age, but in reality most girls my age won't even consider dating men that age.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/17 04:36 PM
1

Yep. I knew this girl at university. She was 18 and her dad was 83. She loved him but it was pretty sad because he wasn't well at all and basically could never visit her because he was so frail. She had to go home a lot of weekends to help take care of him. I think her mum was in her mid-late 50s so she must've had her in her late 30s or early 40s?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/17 07:21 AM
6

For real. I'm in my mid-20s and most of my female friends and I consider 40 way too old to date.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/17 07:15 AM
2

This is a great explanation. There is probably some element of jealousy, as there is when someone you fancy just happens to fancy someone else who isn't you (for any reason), but what you explained is spot on. I don't have a problem with anyone dating someone much younger than them if you just happen to meet and fall for someone much younger/older and you are both mature and compatible. I just think it's creepy if you only want a certain age group, whether that is much younger or much older. Hec…

Untrue. Perhaps there are a few who are like that, but most blues I've met irl have been lower or middle class. I think people of middle or lower social classes tend to have more freedom to be themselves. Upper class often to comes with traditional expectations. I'm blue and originally from a third world country.

I was raised in a very devout, strict Christian family, but started losing my faith around age 13-14. I was baptised. We attended church at least every Sunday, in addition to additional church events on other days of the week. My mum also used to hold Saturday gatherings for church folk. I went to Methodist schools until we moved. All of my friends in my early childhood were from church or school. I definitely wouldn't ridicule anyone for their religious belief. Even though I'm no longer religio…

I think it's due to a shift of these holidays becoming more popular for young people, especially university students. I know that when I was at university in the UK, party/highly sexed holidays to Thailand or Amsterdam were seen as a typical "lads' holiday" and the norm.

I appreciate your perspective and agree with some of what you said. I do agree that sometimes people are out of touch with other cultures and/or demographics, but the problems that other people (who may have it worse than you) shouldn't invalidate the issues that you face. For example, just because your friend's dad got murdered doesn't mean it isn't sad if your dad gets into a car accident and "only" loses an arm. That's obviously an extreme example, but just because other people experience muc…

I'm blue but I agree with a lot of what you're saying. I'm originally from a third-world country but moved to a first-world country when I was eight. It definitely changes your perspective, but in many ways that's why I'm blue. Developed countries are far from perfect but it is usually much worse in poorer countries/communities. I don't think men have it all. If fact, I think the expectation to keep yourself together all the time, support your whole family, make all the first moves, etc. can be …

The stereotype is that men look for youth and beauty, while women look for success and resources. You wrote a really long post about how women pursue this stereotype, while simultaneously complaining because you want the same stereotype. Stephen Merchant is definitely more intelligent than this.

Even with the "click", it's hard to say and sexual attention can still be unwanted. You can "click" with someone but still have no sexual interest in them. What if you get along really well with someone but don't want a sexual or romantic relationship with them? I don't think the other person should persistently try. If anything, it can ruin any relationship you've created with them.

If you insist on treating women like trash, the kind of women who will be willing to put up with you are most likely very damaged. So you theorise that all women are shitty and damaged! I think it's common for people in their early twenties to be open to serious relationships that can lead to marriage, but not so much to get married quickly/in their early twenties. I'm in my mid-twenties and I dated 4-5 guys in their early twenties or younger (when I was younger), and they were all open to commitment and marriage. It probably really depends on the circles you socialise in. If you're in the party scene, then it might be more common to find people who just want something casual. …

I wouldn't say I'm attracted to men who look like my dad, but I'm definitely attracted to men who embody my dad's personality traits. I just think he's an amazing person and father and I would be lucky to find someone like him!

Then that's fine. I think that men and women are different, but they are of equal worth and should have equal opportunities. There's nothing wrong with a woman who wants to be a nurse or a man who wants to be an engineer. There's also nothing wrong with a woman who wants to be an engineer or a man who wants to be a nurse, but there is currently a lot of stigma attached to both. Also, why is the question always to choose between a qualified man and an under-qualified woman? What about a man and a…

No. I'm not talking about affirmative action. Forcing immediate action NOW isn't effective and breeds resentment. I'm talking about slowly changing deeply entrenched attitudes in our society. I'm talking about encouraging young girls to also pursue career success and opportunities in fields that are dominated by men on top of traditionally female career paths. Also changing our career advice and education in general so that young boys and men who want to pursue traditionally female career paths …

Wanting roughly equal numbers of men and women in higher positions isn't hating men. I have no doubt that those men are qualified, but our society discourages women from pursuing it even if it's what they want. I strongly support and advocate for men's rights in areas where they are unrepresented, such as victims of abuse and/or sexual assault. I want equal rights and opportunities for everyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/16 11:23 PM

Yes. Maybe not legally enforced like it was historically, but it's still entrenched in societal attitudes and tradition. A lot of people don't see oppression because we grew up in this society. What happens in it is the norm to us. Oppressed people might even like the way things are because it's how things have always been. We grow up accepting that women and children take men's names after marriage. We grow up seeing men in high power positions or in certain professions, so we tend to associate…

Literally what I was thinking. Women bring companionship, intimacy, and support. Just like any half of a relationship should.

This is more like some people (not just women) will agree or give in because they're tired of the persistence. I don't think most of them use it as a shit test.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/16 08:34 AM

Maybe they refuse to see it. Maybe they believe that their extra efforts and/or their personality might make up for it. (Sometimes it does, but a lot of the time it actually makes it worse...)
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/16 06:49 PM

The problem is too that a lot of them don't want to hear the real reason, which is that someone just isn't attracted to their appearance and/or personality. They want to be told that it's not their fault. If we tell them the real reasons, we're heartless bitches. If we let them down gently, we're encouraging them/leading them on. It's almost impossible to win.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/16 06:33 PM
12

This is the funniest and most ironic thing I've read in a while. It's so true. People just don't want to hear the real reason for their rejection, which is that it's them and not the rejector or the situation. They want the excuses then complain that they're being given excuses.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/16 06:30 PM

I totally understand where you are coming from, but I don't think you're necessarily right. There are a lot of women out there (including myself) who think that shyness and/or awkwardness is endearing. :) Saying that, I can see your point being mostly true in very typical social situations such as a frat party. Mostly because those places have a lot of peer pressure and depend largely on people being able to assert themselves to be noticed, not necessarily on what women are actually attracted to…

You're right. I'm only ever attracted to nice guys. Displays of masculinity, a ripped physique, or typical "alpha" traits aren't attractive to me. A lot of "beta" traits are actually attractive to me (of course I don't see them are inferior, hence the quotation marks). What pisses me off is when "nice guys" treat a girl like a vending machine. Sorry, I misread what you said and thought that you meant that all women who talk about are willing to discuss their sex lives have had ONS. I'm not going to argue about the 3/4 figure because I don't have any statistics for this. I do agree that the majority of modern men and women are down for casual sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/16 06:42 PM

Well that's definitely untrue. I would agree that he majority of men and women have had one night stands but there are a lot that haven't. I haven't, and I have several other female friends who haven't. We're not waiting for marriage or anything. Just not into casual sex. Personally, I don't feel sexual desire for someone unless I have feelings for them so ONS are pointless and uncomfortable.

This is 100% spot on. I had a friend whom I was getting close to, and at the end of the day it was honestly the fact that he kept verbally putting himself down that really put me off.

I agree with this. Women who complain about all guys being arseholes and/or cheaters tend to pick them out. It's not that there aren't "good men"; it's just that these women simply aren't attracted to the men who will be more likely to treat them well. They boast about how they love the "bad boy" type, then act surprised when those men do turn out to be "bad boys". That's why you picked them out in the first place.
