I wouldn't say there is a cookie cutter way of how things should be, however, could you provide more information regarding your situation? How long have you known this man? How many dates have you been on already?

I didn't say "without any internet access" at all. I'm talking about being somewhere, anywhere, and not having good cell service. I have coworkers in Austin, TX and Boise, ID and calls drop all the time, or they call and I can't hear a thing. I'm in a pretty big city and my texts take a while to send if I'm in a bad area. Sometimes there actually isn't service and it doesn't have to be in a remote destination. I'm still curious as to what the alternate solution would be. Also, I didn't tell her …

I can think of at least one reason--there isn't any cell service nearby. Another would be, if someone essentially "has their hands tied" to where they are unable to text, they probably can't call either, no? So, what would be the solution? I also don't agree with it being unacceptable to go days without contact--presumably we are talking about in the context of him being away on the trip, correct? I'd say give him some space--men miss us much more when they have their freedom, don't feel smother…

I'm not sure if I agree here. What would be an alternate solution if texting isn't possible, presuming calling would also not be possible?

Yes, I didn't mean a formal dinner either. I guess the OP is a little vague to me. "helping around the house" can mean anything from "I cleaned my hair out of the shower drain after taking a shower" to "I dusted his entire bedroom, took out his trash, and mopped his floors." I'm also confused as to how much of a mess she could be making, just hanging out at the house. I doubt she's throwing her garbage on the floor or anything like that.

I disagree with the expectation that cooking and cleaning should be done while at his place. Maybe I'm the exception, but in my experience, my partners are the ones cooking dinner for me when they have invited me over. Further, I've never cleaned someone else's home and it has never been a point of contention in any relationship I've ever been in. But this is just IMHO.

Well, I don't 'let' a man do anything because I only control myself. However, 99% of the time, the men I date grab the check the second it is put on the table and that's the last I hear about it. I've never needed to converse with a man about splitting or paying separately.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
