Having an opinion isn't a reason not hold a role on academia. In fact, it's generally encouraged even if you disagree with it. I know my university gives the chance to have your grades reassessed if you have been harshly treated. I imagine most are the same. It's philosophy. Debate and discussion is the point. If you don't engage and state your arguments you're doing it wrong.

I got banned for doing the same thing as I regularly do here. Questioning everything and how they relate to feminism and gender equality. I have no problem calling out bullshit and trying to make people think. I can into heated discussions here but I wasn't even allowed a discussion on /r/feminism. Straight to a ban.

Providing a list without sources is pointless. I could create a list on how transsexuals are more privileged but that doesn't mean any of it is true. You're the one trying to make a statement therefore you have to provide the sources. The vast majority of those are clear lies or extremely unlikely.

Are these statistics per capita or overall? More men work in 'dangerous' jobs. Therefore is it's overall of course there are more male deaths. One of the leading causes of homicide is gangs and most gang members are male. How about we stop making this men vs women and instead worry about the fact that suicide is the third biggest killer in 15-24 year olds and the growing number of homelessness which includes men, women and children.

I can totally understand and get behind banning troll and abusive posts but banning people who are legitimately trying to contribute to discussion is just censorship. I've had plenty of arguments with people here and criticised a lot of the posts people put up here that I don't think are relevant to gender equality but i'm still around and kicking.

I was banned the other day by saying silly jokes on the internet are not the biggest problems faced in fight for gender equality. When trying I tried to discuss and explain my point of view I got a reply telling me how I wasn't a feminist at all and i'd be better off on /r/mensrights. The hilarious part about it is the fact that both groups are realistically aiming for the same thing just from different angles. We need to stop gender equality being men vs women.

I think both sides SHOULD be about gender equality just from difference angles. For instance our priority may be parental custody is a split marriage whereas a feminists priority might be the glass ceiling in a large business but at the end of the day we should all be aiming for the same goals which should be total gender equality. Because when it started women were barely even seen as humans, it was about getting females to the same level as males. It was and still is about gender equality. It's a butting heads of man hate and true feminism. I'm sure we'd see a lot more of the same here if there was more people involved. One thing i've always been interested in is how MRM would react to female support. In the feminist movement it seems rather split in whether men can be feminists.

I think the problem is very similar to what is happening in feminism. People get too offended and too tied up in non-issues. Like the t-shirts I seem to see on a regular basis on this subreddit. That is NOT an issue! If that offends and upsets you that is your problem, not anyone else's. The problems are things such as women having higher priority in child custody cases. It's why the MRM is seen as a joke, period. It seems like many are far too thin skinned. We have to stick to the issues, not complain about jokes and petty things. At the end of the day it's about total equality in both parental custody, sex crimes, pay and work equality, prison sentences, everything. Ach well.. That's my opinion. There's a big difference between the two t-shirts. The original is portraying a common joke that men ultimately have to give up their opinion in order to be happy within a marriage.
