Exactly. 21 Yr marriage over. I'm miserable. Still single. She started dating a guy instantly. He's moved in. I'm moved out. Over the loss but not over how fast it happened. Still shell-shocked.

Wow. You have no idea how much this helped me right now. Thanks for sharing your story. I'm going thru a divorce after 21 yrs and I.feel worthless. That I failed. But the part about focusing on the kids really hit home. May no longer be able to be a husband but I sure as hell can still be a great dad.

Thanks! If anything, this first success is definitely made me very confident for next weekend! It wasn't even about the sex, but more about getting over the AA. I didn't even know her last name until I dropped her off at her house. LOL

Thanks. I tend to over think things and I think what helped me the most was Style's book where he addressed the fear of rejection that freezes us from acting. I just made the decision to give zero fucks and go for it. It could have been bad, but it WASN'T. The bad would have been not trying.

Thanks! That was great advice. I just get really nervous when I hear the word "friend". The stigma attached to that is horrible for me. I will let her know that I can wait for her, if she'll wait for me to get through this part, but I still plan on going out together, hugging and kissing-just not too intense. Time to keep the embers burning until its time to flame up!

Epiphany: This is why right NOW I am just happy I had the courage for a conversation. Later I was able to spend the whole night at a bar, more or less, with one girl. I have been going to the gym about three times a week for the last 4 years. I do admit that I am addicted to carbs, but have gone from 350 to about 270. I lost 30 pounds due to stress when my wife left me, but managed to keep it off. Trying hard to lose another 50. I am a barrell chested stocky guy at 5'9" and if I was 220, I'd probably look a lot better.
