I'd like to add that if this still makes you nervous you have strong plausible deniability here. You will be comfortable and familiar with a coffee shop you go to regularly/is near to you, where else are you going to take her? Depends on the girl, some see it as a anti slut defense because of the social stigma around giving a guy their number. I've had plenty of girls who have added me on Facebook and then initiated contact themselves which has then lead to getting their number. On the other hand it could very easily be a soft reject. The main thing is to read the girl and gauge her attraction to you to find out.

I'm not saying she deserves a 10 year prison sentence or even a particularly harsh sentence if the boy consented but I am saying she should get equal punishment to a man. Women are equally as capable and in some cases consent more than their male counterparts (men are often peer pressured in to desiring sex) but if a man were to commit statuary rape it is always treated as a serious crime regardless.

The point here isn't whether or not the boy enjoyed it. The point is statuary rape is a serious crime and this woman got an out of jail free card because of her gender. If a man were to do this whether or not the 17 year old girl enjoyed/consented to sex he would still be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
