Negging doesn't work by lowering self esteem, it works by quickly filtering for women that already have self-esteem issues and are more likely to have sex to feel validated. It doesn't work on the majority of women and that's kind of the point. It's kind of similar to why scam emails are often poorly written and obvious scams to most people - they only want the most gullible people to call back because they're the most likely to pay into the scam.

Yes but they're both awful compared to being in a relationship with a woman that actually likes you. At least you get what you pay for with a prosti

NEETs are a separate category and its understandable for nobody to want to date them. Boring nerds should excel in education and have stable careers.

I think OP has a point about hobby groups being a poor avenue to meet potential partners, unless that group has a large number of regular participants. I'll always stand by expanding your social circle though - even if direct matchmaking is uncommon, it still gives you access to meeting women with established social trust, which is a huge benefit to getting dates.

Agreed, and I think in the context of "person tries thing 9 times, and has the same problem every time", then the response should really be on the solutions side as opposed to soothing side. At a certain point you're just encouraging future failure.

A friend of mine is part of a local music collective that puts on free monthly concerts in the park with a mix of live bands and DJs. Virtually nobody under the age of 30 bothers showing up - it's mostly Millenials and Gen X. Gen Z just straight up doesn't put as much effort into group socialization

Your experiences generally track with mine as a guy in his mid 30s, but it really seems like the younger generation is stunted in their social development. High schoolers now are entering fewer relationships and spending way less time socializing (in person), and they go into young adulthood without having the experiences that would lead them move past superficial judgements of compatibility.

This is hugely dependent on the setting and its general audience. But for generic advice to apply to the default for America, with its deep seated anti-intellectual culture, avoiding intellectual discussions most of the time is good advice for dating. You need to go out of your way to museum or university events (or similar) to find a population of people that might be more receptive.

Shy/introverted women will get approached regardless.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
