I did. I read ‘The Rules’, I made a list of what I was looking for in a partner (just for myself) and I did online dating. I was upfront before I even went on a date so as to not waste anyone’s time who was looking for something different. But ultimately I think I was really lucky to have found my DH.

I think the fact the 36M is rather blasé about when you have sex is perhaps a red flag. He may not be that sexual. His libido may not be that high or he could be on SSRI medication. After waiting until marriage you may want to make up for lost time in the bedroom but it simply won’t happen. You may find yourself in a relationship that has little sex. I always disclosed my intention to wait early on as I never wanted to waste my time on a relationship that wasn’t going to go the distance or my pr…

That’s amazing well done. Are there any foods that were off limits?

Women in their 30’s have reduced choice for available men and so date 45+ aged males.

Women in their 20’s are in their prime, so I was referring to the average 45 year old male being unable to attract the most desirable age group for women. They have to compromise which I think means they’ve hit the wall.

Women in their early twenties don’t want men this old. This is the age where health issues arise and most men will come with baggage.

But women’s nature has been there explicitly stated in Genesis. The story of Adam and Eve.

Just my poor attempt at humour. 🤷‍♀️

So to summarise. Go for the losers.

I think online dating is great. Have you read the book ‘The Rules’. Basically it says you can be as specific as you like about the kind of man you want to attract because men like a challenge. So on my profile I said I didn’t want anyone who played the acoustic guitar. Really silly but you should have seen the guys all commenting to let me know they didn’t or did own one but no longer played 😂.

“I sense him getting bored when I get quiet”. This is what I was responding to with my comment. You shouldn’t sense that he is bored with your company. If anything, HE should be stressed that he’s boring you.

I’ve had this experience too. Keep searching for that someone who embodies all the qualities you are after.

If conversation doesn’t flow easily it could just be that you’re not suited. I always felt boring and stressed about not being able to make conversation on dates, but it was always easy from the start with DH. The first person ever really that I could have a conversation with without stressing. Amazing really as I’m not highly educated but he is.

I wouldn’t date someone you don’t deeply respect. You mention he’s empathetic but your examples paint him as being less than. Don’t waste your best dating years on someone who isn’t right. If it feels wrong, it’s because it is.

It was the last paragraph of the original post I was referencing. I saw the reply comment about the ad being from 2014. Who knew such a relic had been dragged out. Just because a man endorses this ad doesn’t mean a thing. I would have thought only ads proven successful would have been used as examples. Using photos was the norm when I did internet dating back in 2010.

Is this a joke?? It’s an awful ad? I think her throwing down her domestic attributes that she could bring to a relationship doesn’t read right. Men don’t like to think they are looking for a maid. She also lumps sex in with cooking and other domestic chores?? She lists herself as white looking for someone attractive and white??? :/ can’t people see she’s white in her profile picture? Why does she need to list she’s after someone white? She hasn’t mentioned other specific physical characteristics…

So for me my issue wasn’t weight but education and career. Changing these things would have taken years and I didn’t want to wait that long before I found a man. I think knowing what I brought to the table helped me keep my dating expectations realistic. I wrote a list of what core qualities were most important to me. Things I wouldn’t compromise on. And I was cut throat and didn’t let the list get too long. Apart from someone who was visibly taller than me, I didn’t care how they looked or what…

Sexy. Because you can be sexy and classy at the same time. Just because you look sexy doesn’t mean you look easy. I think looking adorable might potentially risk giving off an air of looking simple and vanilla.

Most men would not be so arrogant as to assume you are exclusive without having that conversation. Also, what woman in their right mind would mention other guys to their date? That’s just trying to incite jealousy which isn’t the point of dating multiple men.

That’s why they ask you to be their girlfriend/exclusive.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
