It's good that your a critical go getter, but in my experience even if you try to rope other people in they tend to be skittish and non-committal. It's a shame you got so many down-votes, I think your argument about self-defense isn't bad, but we live in the era of guns not swords, while women still perform worse than men in military functions, they are perfectly capable as marksmen.
