27 years for me. She actually is a good woman, just not good for me. I took a significant hit in retirement to be free, but things are so much better now. More money, freedom, dating and focusing on what is important to me. She had significant insecurities she refused to deal with and came with ultimatums and conditions that didn’t fit me at a fundamental level. We did while we were separating. Married 27 years. Once the divorce was final, all that stopped. I’d say it depends on the current communication. If it’s cordial, wouldn’t be a bad thing to remain cordial. If it’s not, then no. But don’t feel you have to, you don’t owe this person anything any more.
