If I may answer this question for him, I think it simply means that if he can’t enjoy the sex in the first place due to a lack of emotional connection, then this “HUGE part” you speak of becomes nullified. There needs to be a pretense of emotional connection AND THEN sex. OP mentions that he loves sex and would love to have it daily IF it was with the right woman. Casual sex seems empty and unfulfilling but completely doable. It’s like if I don’t see long-term potential in a potential partner, I am not as turned on. A big caveat is perhaps this is just oneitis rearing it’s ugly head in a very insidious and subtle way. It’s entirely possible.
