First piece of advice. Never ever consider any kind of violence or harm to yourself or anyone else. If you do, you are a total loser and a failure, period. Second, even if you feel today that the sky is falling down on your world and you are hopeless and distraught, know that hundreds of millions have gone through this before and rebuilt a much happier life by exiting the marriage. Having stated the above, I don’t believe your wife is naive and haven’t considered options to clean you out on the …

If she is not letting you touch her anymore when she is below 40, and wants a divorce with no custody of her 2 children or split assets, 200%, she has a golden parachute with someone else. Like others noted, you have been handed a lottery by her not asking for assets, alimony, child support etc. Get a lawyer and draft a divorce agreement asap before she clues in to what she could have taken without even demanding it! Around 80-90k of my hard earned assets was burned by both of us hiring lawyers …

Agree. If you as the man gets sick, would you take care of yourself? If yes, a difficult wife, is not a reason to give up either. Because her difficultness is now your problem as both of you are supposed to be one body and mind. No way of accusing each other, it is her issue and not my issue. If it is adultery, then walk.

If your wife wants to try to fix it, give it a chance for sake of the kids. But put down strict boundaries that you will need her to honor or assure her you will walk. And share with family, so they understand that you gave it all.

I would say, never be alone with her, neither now or post divorce, as she only has to lie with tears streaming for the cops, the judge, the neighbors to lynch you or get you locked up for a long time. Walk away and build a brand new life.

Think it would be extremely prejudicial to you even if a postnup is agreed prior to reconciliation. Chiefly because a woman in US has all the weapons at her disposal to put any innocent man in prison. Simply has to claim that you assaulted her while at home or even worse imply child abuse and you will be in jail for a long, long time. In my case, after 20+ years marriage, I recall her warning me when I raised my voice that she knows how to put me away. This was during the toxic aftermath of her …

Here is a tip. Trawl through social media forums that are for divorcing wives. Helps you understand why you cannot be a gentleman in a divorce fight and learn what you are up against to help you with strategizing.

Agree. You cannot be a gentleman in a divorce suit as her lawyer will get her to fight dirty and you will be helpless to claim a fair settlement

Yes, expensive. Had a lawyer charging $350 per hour for me and her lawyer $400 per hour. Burned close to $50,000 combined before getting final settlement in court. But without a good lawyer, I would have been buried in court by her lawyer and her lies and come out worser. Not easy to see your hard earned funds taken away without any recourse.

Any anger at her betrayal needs to be channeled into making smart legal moves to protect yourself. Document the shit out of everything that your lawyer can use against her or on your defense. My ex wanted alimony and a disproportionate share. But I came out with a 50/50 and no alimony and all her other pleas based on lies denied. Had offered her a fair settlement for a quick divorce but she would not take it and took it to court. Eventually after an year of waiting plus 2 days in court and havin…

If spouse voluntarily moves to another relative’s house after serving you divorce papers, can spouse still claim that s/he be awarded the house? Someone said possession is 9/10 ownership or so. No clue what it means from a divorce perspective. Any thought on whether I should be prepared to move out?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
