When you get out of the shower apply some kind of toner(ask at a drug store they will have 50000 types of varying prices) to seal your pores and prevent crap getting back in them. As for more colour, palmers cocoa butter (many 'types' but there's one that adds a little bit of colour) is good, as is 10mins extra sun a day with spf moisturiser. If you like having just a 'little' bit of stubble these babys work wonders. As for shaving in the shower: Hot water/steam/a warm cloth placed over your face will not only 'open' your pores, it softens the hair for when you cut.
