I don't think "civil disobedience" grants any leniency anywhere. It's just a statement of when someone protests a law by disobeying it. The courts don't just let that person off because of it.

I'm not very well versed in the legality of the matter, can you link me to where the standards are for consent? I assume it also varies from location to location as well. I guess I can't really speak much for the legality of the matter but I did point out that we generally consider those intoxicated responsible for their actions under the law. God, this again? Only 2% of rape reports are given falsely I would really love to know what statistic they're using here. Seems to me that this isn't something you can know for sure. Other that the obvious assumption that the father could be dangerous, I don't see anything wrong here. The father wasn't punished or anything, and I might just want to know if someone randomly approached my children without my knowledge because there could actually be something to it. I suppose you could argue that a women wouldn't be treated the same way, but I'd want to know if a suspicious women did the same thing. You never know what kind of disgusting fucks exist out there.

I think Neil deGrasse Tyson had it right with labels. When you start calling yourself this and that, you're willingly associating all the baggage that those labels have with you. Egalitarian can't really be misconstrued, so that's my stance.

I'm mainly thinking of the issue of women's suffrage in general. I did not mean to imply that the suffragists couldn't be the same brand of crazy on somethings. Early labor unions were very much socialist, doesn't mean they didn't have a point at the time.
