I think you just discovered being fiscally conservative and socially liberal. Perhaps some women don't realize that's what they are, maybe that's your point?

I have to say this is sounding very logical, cause-effect, yes-no. Remind me what this post was about?

I mean the only way it’s gender-dependent is women, in most states, have the option to revoke consent to a child afterwards. I don’t think that’s morally commendable but it’s certainly not my choice. Men don’t have that option so that’s an extra layer of needing to make smart decisions.

Does having sex for men mean they automatically consent to having a child? Yes, having consentual sex, regardless of gender, is functionally consenting to having a child. That's my opinion and you can make of it what you will

women asking your job isn’t of being gold digger. She just wants to measure the future and your ambition. Thats it 🤦 I agree with the title of the post. Given that we all spend ~25% of our time working, it's an important thing to know and something that's easy to talk about. But the quoted sentence basically says "women asking your job isn't a sign of being a gold digger, she just wants to know how much gold you have!" lmao. In any case there are, I counted, 18 grammar mistakes in this post so I…

I’m coming back to this comment because I remember reading it and thinking it was internet pseudoscience BS. Then yesterday a girl friend of mine said of a guy she was talking to, almost word for word “I don’t like him because it seems like he’s the least favorite friend in his group.” So I guess some people really are like that. Honestly it reeks of insecurity- like they don’t think they’re mentally capable of forming a judgment on their own, and need external backup for every choice they make.

Does lying once make you evil? Have you ever lied in your life, or will you say no and lie again? Therefore you’re evil. Suit yourself my man.

You definitely can pretend. She won’t buy it but you can pretend.

Yeah that's just a miss for me. All about emotional stability and some damn common sense.

Concur. But hypothetically if it somehow gets discussed, that’s how I would handle it if I was those guys.

What intrinsic values are you lacking?

Both, but only indirectly. You lie to obtain sex directly. Girl probably ghosts you after because you lied. So that sucks, but now you can move forward with a little more confidence, a clean slate, and no need to lie. Making it quite a bit easier to find a relationship. If you screw up the one girl who will ever be interested in you by lying to her, well, can’t help there, maybe time to figure out why no one else is interested.

Just curious, I see this take all the time but it never comes with actual examples. What are some things about being in a relationship that an otherwise normal and reasonable human would not understand? Because neither I nor anyone I know to my knowledge have ever been caught off guard by this mythical alternate world of being in a relationship.

When did yall decide that you’d rather stay celibate for life than tell a little white lie? With this thinking you are accepting your fate as being stuck in the “need experience to get experience” trap. Why do that to yourself? The next time you’re in a situation where this topic comes up, it is almost certainly advantageous to lie. Yes, when the rubber meets the road you will get exposed as being both a virgin and a liar . . . by which point you will no longer be a virgin. Problem solved. Out o…

Yeah I feel that. For me the parts of dating that exhaust me are 1) the texting with someone I barely know, and 2) the nerves of a first date. 2 is certainly fixable, 1 is probably a forever PITA as long as I’m single. But once a connection is established I love it, one-day flings can be fun even if that’s all it is.

Right, but to start playing the numbers game - and to have the tools to be good at it - you need to care. So that’s why I take issue with the “men who care less” point. According to all these studies, like 50% of single men are checked out of dating completely. They don’t care about dating, and they’re certainly not doing much if it.

“It’s a numbers game” and “you need to stop caring” are conflicting statements. To get to these “numbers” of scale, it takes effort. You need to care. If you don’t care, you probably don’t put in effort, you probably don’t meet many people. When I go through spells of not caring about dating, I am alone until I start caring again. You can’t quit playing a game and still expect to win. When the world says “stop caring”, what it means is “care, but outwardly pretend you don’t”. “Stop caring” is on…

Thus why I specified the top ~20 and the bottom ~100

You can’t compare the developed world to the developing world. Certainly not the ~20 wealthiest countries to the ~100 poorest. Money changes everything for everyone in different ways. There are so many possible factors

California: $1 million for a closet built in the 70s that’s a lightning strike and a light breeze away from being incinerated (no insurance). Pay slightly lower taxes Texas: $400k for a new 3bed 2bath, pay slightly higher taxes 🤔🤔

Unrelated but does your husband appreciate being called a “short broke king”? You do understand why apparently taking pride in the fact that he’s short and broke, as if it’s a sign of your morality, is inherently an insult to your husband? When you act like it’s a virtue to be able to look past those traits, you are by extension proclaiming that those traits are highly undesirable. Just my two cents, and if I was him I know how I would feel about that.

B, no question. I don’t think I would make it to 35 alive in either. But B is much more fixable and much less regrettable

Right, what I’m saying is that a man who repeats your name is probably selling you a product (himself), rather than actually being a human on a date. It’s a psychotic frame of mind.

Repeating your name is a tactic often used by salespeople. You know, to sell you a product. Lol

Once again, reddit fails to find the middle ground. Shocking. Some people want to vent and some people just want to fix it ASAP. When I am faced with a problem, I am pissed off. I don't need to tell the world that I'm pissed off, because I am wired to focus on the actual issue at hand instead of how I personally feel about it. However, other people are wired differently and want to vent. That can be accomodated. Even if the venting doesn't resonate with me at all, I can at least pretend it does.…

So what's the end goal then? To argue about how your gut feeling is that their gut feeling is wrong? Based on evidence that even you admit does not exist?

How tf is anyone supposed to answer that question? You can’t do a study on it because the entire premise relies on people lying. As soon as someone knows they’re in a study where the entire point is to prove that they are lying, they will simply not lie. And no way any one person (especially from this hellhole) has had enough conversations with different women about their dating preferences AND subsequently observed those same women’s actual dating habits.
