Arguing over $6,000 in debt isn’t worth an attorney... legally the $5k debts is hers, since it’s documented that she cane into the marriage in debt; and it’s in her name which means it’s still hers... she has a case to make you pay half the $1k debt, by once again it would be stupid for either of you to waste time in court over this debt. Worst case give her the $500 and tell her to fuck off. Worst case go to court solo and see a judge yell at both of you for wasting their time over $500. Now un…

Be nice and take a big ass loan against your retirement. Your wife is bluffing for now, but take her threats seriously. Protect yourself.. so when you file or when she files... she won’t get shit through that QDRO or on the balance sheet until she pays half the loan. I tell you some spouses are total scum. And keep an eye on her retirement accounts. Don’t be surprised if she doesn’t even have one..

Just like w/ anything you have to educate yourself about your child support laws. And it has nothing to do with male rights.. You see the shit going on with Britney Spears and the loser she had kids with... The court is built on making the breadwinner pay...period... You need to prove what your ex makes, so your support can be calculated. There must be a loophole where you can subpoena and provide her real income.

Based on all your posts... don’t hold your breathe on settling.. :-( You’re going all the way bud.

My STBX lawyer said the same shit about... I should settle or risk having to pay attorney fees... even if I win. Told him and his lawyer to kiss my ass. Sorry, but I don’t react well to extortion.

Why are you even bothering trying to settle with this crazy individual? The more you offer her... the more she feels entitled to more...I wouldn’t offer her shit by a lump of coal. You better get your head out of your butt and start terrorizing her as well. The more weaker you act, the more she thinks she can bully you.

This is 100% true... ALWAYS show up and ALWAYS respond. Some spouses and lawyers file crap in hopes you don’t show up, and then they will automatically win.

You don’t have to pay her anything... but what it comes down to is what type of divorce do you want to be involved with? Shit like this is what turns an easy divorce into a full blown contested situation.. and a tit-for-tat. Close down all ties and stop being shady..

It all depends.... the objective should be to hire the most competent, but also focus on ones that meet your needs. One thing for sure you want one that WANTs to settle, but then again is not afraid to litigate. Very hard to find one that knows when to attack and when to just sit down and fall in line.

You need to go back to child support and request a modification 1 make sure your ex shows her paycheck stubs...proper income. ESP if she makes more than you. Go to your online calculator and see what it says based on the income you know she makes, your current income and the % of time each of you have them. I’m thinking she may end up owing you child support based on her making more or it will be $200 bucks or something. 2 you have 3 kids, why the hell is she the only one claiming the kids. That…

She’s not breaking any rules. Have you ever asked her why she is sending them to therapy? I think you need to maybe project yourself into her shoes, and not just think of her as a narcissist ( even though she might be). I say this because kids act differently with different parents in different environments. I remember my ex was trying to tell me about one of our kids, and I told him to shut up and mind his own business. I run my household the way I want too. I feel as though he’s a pushover and…

Your ex seems to be on a mission to rile you up. And she’s being successful. Let it go and she will stop sending them. You can’t do anything about what she does on her time. Not to mention plenty of people think therapy is a healthy thing, ESP for kids that are involved in a high conflict divorce. And if you do go to court, you’ll look stupid going in front of a judge complaining about your ex getting therapy for your kids.

Plenty of complications can arise....i.e. the judge can give her the ENTIRE house because you tried to hide an asset. I'm assuming you are in a 50/50 state.... Why is the house solely in your name? Did you use separate property to purchase it or not? How much equity is there to even split? You have more to lose than gain by doing this. You are better off fighting her through the courts...

You haven’t been married that long so you’ll pay something but not much. If I was your wife I would get a job pronto. A lot of states are ruling more for rehabilitative spousal support and your marriage was real short. Sorry to say but when a woman uses that line... it’s over.. there is no turning back.. She probably has found someone who she plans to leech off of next. Which sucks, but then again she probably won’t worry about pursuing alimony from you in that case. Ask her if she wants to go b…

I think you are slightly entering into immoral dickland. Only because if she had decent credit, she would be on the loan. Not sure about Arizona, but in other comm property states she would still be entitled to a % of the appreciation based on the principal pay down. And believe me when I say this, people like your ex w/ nothing to lose will literally go to court fighting over pennies. I honestly don't feel sorry for people who have shitty credit, choose to basically be underemployed and think t…

It's odd, but I don't think its a trap. ESP if it's info that's readily available through other sources. Seems like she's just being lazy and/or not wanting her attorney to charge her a fee for looking through and giving her the document. Providing the info is dependent on a few things... How desperate are you to get your name off the mortgage? If so, do whatever is necessary to help her get a refinance in her name only, and quitclaim your interest. If you don't care, and simply put hate her gut…

Get a list of questions...Throw a few curveballs just to see if they know the law... State bar is good, also some employers have employee benefits that provide legal referrals (discounted hourly rates), and sometimes free consultations. If you know of people that have been divorced, ask them. Also, another good way is to go to your local courthouse and see some lawyers in action (pick one that suits your style)...
