/u/huge_gap nailed it. Doesn't matter if she "knows" or "sees" you're mad/pissed, you still broke frame by letting Mary Jane Rottencrotch get under your skin. Your question has some parallelism to situations where people can't handle their liquor, get addicted to drugs, addicted to porn, etc. Bottom line, your phrasing removes your actions from your own frame and places them in the frame of the activity/substance/entertainment. TL;DR what you say now is okay. The alternative screams "I can't control my impulses"
