My step dad is 60, I’m 31. We get mistaken as a couple when we go out because it’s such a “normal” thing now and it makes us gag every time. Stop. Stop this. It’s not okay. Never. Knock it off, I cannot stress it enough, knock it off.

Isn’t that like.. rape? “He raped me while sleeping, and I’m just not a fan” is a good explanation

Ewwwww. Reminds me of my 8th grade science teacher and his brother. Science teacher and I ran into each other when I was 21 at a bar. He told me how he always thought I was so cute, hot etc. I said you know how creepy that is? It’s not a compliment in any way at all. I was what.. 13? At most I was 14 for a month in his class. He persisted and we eventually left the bar because of him. His brother, track coach in same district and I think maybe a HS teacher (I never made it to his class because..…

Ohhhhhhh... if this isn’t a bullet list of my exH. And we had kids together too, so it was always me at home. His married friends thought I was so controlling, that I wanted to keep him from his friends. But what he DIDNT TELL THEM was that he sprung it on me at dinner, ON THAT WEDNESDAY, that he was going out that night. Dinner with our infants. And never be home until after 2 am, on a week day. His married friends wives would know well in advance, unlike me. And don’t even blow his phone up wo…

Not only the biggest impact on how I want a partner to treat me, act, etc, but it changed who I surround myself with. I cut off two friends since following here because I cannot have that unnecessary stress/toxicity in my life. Real mind blower. I also can’t get further in my life while I have pickmes clouding my judgement.

Getting out of a lackluster marriage/relationship with my kids father totally changed me! The big thing I noticed was my eyes, they actually look vibrant and bright! I didn’t realize how much he truly drained my whole being. Congrats for recognizing the difference and getting out of that terrible relationship 🙌🏻

Did the same merry go round with my now ex-h. It’d be great for a week or two and back to normal. I told him it was easier to take care of the kids and myself alone without him and kicked him out. He has them 20% and when I drop the kids off, the toys will still be in the same spot from three days ago at his house. Cant teach an old dog new tricks.

AFUCKINGMEN. My friend group always knows when shit went down in another friends marriage because they go on a bragging spree on social media of how wonderful each other is.

He’s my step brother and we are usually civil and ignore each other. Normally I ignore but I fed into it. I’ve blocked him since but I’m just... blown away

Back story- my stepbrother shares her posts all the time. Currently in an argument about it because he thinks women only belong in the home, and that I, as a single working mother, should have tried harder to save my marriage with a LVM “if you had tried harder to make him enjoy being home, it would have worked out”. Just irate today.

Same. She already set the bar low by taking him AND BUYING him dances. You’re.......... surprised? Weird.

You wrote THE shortest one-liners of why he’s “HVM” and paragraphs on why he’s not. I think that’s the simplest answer.

I left my exH because I was a married single mom, much MUCH easier being single single mom.

Oh man. Throwing out “I’ll hire someone” will throw a NV man in a fucking tizzy fit. Been there, done that. Divorced now and have all my handy men on speed dial, I’ll pay in a heart beat to have it done now. Not waiting two weeks/three months/five years(our rehab HOME) to have it done. Ever. Again.

Just start giving it chances. If you’re wring, whoopdeedoo. But I bet your chances of being right outweigh that
