I'm a soulless ginger. I have friends and a girlfriend. And a personality. It's insane.

That seems really bitter to me.

Nah, that's not the dream. Being with a sad pushover chickenshit simp of a girl gets old real fast. Red Pill women are not this. But I'm open to counterarguments.

Pretty much. In my area there are a lot of old family homes that have been converted into that sort of thing. So a lot of them have a really weird layout.

I think at the core of it, the police incident was a combination of their lenience and culpability. All I did was call them out on it. I remember it vividly though and it's certainly not my proudest memory — as a white South African dealing with black cops in a varsity neighbourhood, certain amount of leeway, but I was definitely taking a big chance and it happened to pay off that time. Three years later, I'd definitely use a different approach. Also, alchohol.

To be honest that's SA in a nutshell, except it's political drama instead of police-related drama. People love to latch onto a narrative.

Haha, nothing Manson-esque. It's basically off-campus digs in a house that's rented out per room, so you're never sure who your housemates could be unless you do what we did and find seven mates to all take the place together. I guess that explanation doesn't really do it much justice but basically very little hippy BS.

It was a really fucking stupid thing to do.. But yeah, South Africa.

I guess that's the media for you. The vocal minority get most of the attention. I'm a white South African, and I've spent the majority of my 25 years sharing school hostels or communes with all sorts of mixed races. I won't pretend it's all peachy, but generally we learned our lesson after Apartheid, and to me the American South seems much more extreme than the situation here. 👍🏻

Nope, I'm actually a raging ginger. Nominally Irish. Mac, my best mate at the time though, is very much bleck.

Thanks man. I enjoyed reliving it.

Seconded. You have to work your ass off, get as far away from civilisation as possible, maybe hike up a mountain or two, basically suffer to do the most menial of things, reach the realisation that you're actually enjoying it, even though it's pretty much pointless, and return home with this vague sense of triumph, like you've won something, even though no one else can comprehend your victory. Now that's the goddamn essence of being a man. Shit, now I wanna go hiking.

It just struck me that half of this doesn't really seem to apply anywhere other than USA. I'm from South Africa – anyone else thinking this?

This gets me thinking – if American colleges are full of tequila-drinking sluts, and form the perfect environment for getting heaps of random ass, is anyone actually getting anything else done? Here in SA, there are tons of opportunities to pick up girls around the university environment, but that whole scene is pretty distinct from the actual studying part. It seems like the last thing on an American student's mind is eventually making money, which is uhh… yeah… different. I guess I'm trying to…

South Africa here. Not quite as fucked as you sound but still relevant.

This made me laugh because it's really the only thing to say here.

Brilliant. Having just created a separate account to get started here, I've got to say – it's this stuff that makes me excited to get the ball rolling!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
