1	Why female standards on physique are harder to please Personally, I think on the whole that men are WAY pickier about women's looks than women are about men's looks. I never hear women rating men's looks with numbers out of ten. 1	Is being short for men comparable to what is being chubby for women in regard of negative impact on one's SMV? I'm from the UK too. I think because here in the UK the class system still very much exists, people are more influenced by this than by looks. People tend to form relationships within their own 'social class' even if the only people available in that class are average looking. It's something that's ingrained in our culture. 1	Am I on the right path? My advice is to interact with as many people as you can in the real world, not over the internet. If you are doing well in your job and you are taking good care of yourself then you are certainly not failing. Comparing yourself to others who have more money/better social lives for instance is self defeating. I believe that social media has made us compare ourselves more.
