If you're in college/have a .edu email address, you can send in a note and apply to be a Trojan SafeSite. http://amplifyyourvoice.org/gacc-apply I did for a small school of ~2000 people, and got sent a box of 500 of various types, and all it took me was 10 minutes of my time, telling them why I believe safe sex is a good thing.

I mean, part of it is the fact that if you got by with a low C or D because the professor isn't looking to straight out fail you, that counts as good enough to move on and take more. Sure, you didn't quite get it, but next time you'll work harder right? Really I think a lot of it comes back to people falling for the sunk cost fallacy and not wanting to give up on something they think they want. Bunch of factors there that depend on the person and situation, but essentially there may not be a mor…

Not true. I went to a college where CS 101 counted for Natural Science credits, of which you need 6 to graduate. It's the reason I had to take 6 credits of Art and 6 of Humanities. The rest still of what you said still stands, but I tutored people in CS 101, and more than one was there for the easy-ish N credits.

Happens all the time. "Oh, just pass them in 101 so they can get their science credit." "Oh, just pass them in 201, even though it was all group work and their peers gave them terrible marks" "Oh, just pass them in 301. They've been a good student in the past, and the material here is kind of rough" "Oh, just pass them in 401. They're so close to graduating." Trust me, just like the primary education system, people slip through the cracks. I was CS myself, and was having to explain the concept o…

If you're complaining about people in your CS 101 class, just stop. They're taking it for whatever sort of science credit or whatever they need to graduate. Don't do their shit for them, but don't shit on them for jumping through hoops for graduation requirements. Move on with your life. Now, if these are juniors/seniors still in the program, trust me, the professors know, and they aren't getting away with anything. Deal for the next 6 months, and then never see them again, problem solved.

No problem man. I find the immediate calls for NEXT to always be too reactive. There's always other options. Good luck on this man.

To me, this by itself isn't even close to a red flag. In my experience, it may even be a good thing. The behavior could stem from all sorts of things. I doubt it's a lack of respect for you. I had one girl I used to date that would do this. When I asked her directly about the pattern I was seeing, she said that she does that when she's overreacting to something, knows it, and doesn't want to bother me with it. If this is the case, in your example with the other girl at the party, she was able to…

There are a couple of ways to go about this sort of thing. First of all, keep in mind that by paying for food or other activities that early on in the relationship sets the standard for the rest of the relationship. This, more than anything else, is why most of TRP says to not just pay for dates. The problem here arises when she just expects you to provide things for her with nothing in return. You move from AF to BB pretty fast if you aren't careful. Now I don't know what you have planned, but …

Ok, I'm going to start off by saying that your first reaction shouldn't be to next her. Sure, it should always be on the table as an option, but you don't go for it in an otherwise good relationship over something like this. It's like taking your dog out behind the shed because it got chased a squirrel up a tree and you're afraid of it getting rabies. There's nothing wrong with her reading things and learning new perspectives. After all, that's how YOU found TRP in the first place. Expanding one…

Ahh. I have the opposite problem. Well you can do a few things. One, attempt my method, but turn on airplane mode so that you CAN'T receive texts until you look at your phone. Or you could try setting a timer after you receive a text. How long is up to you, but I would start at 15 minutes. Basically force yourself to not answer until that timer is up. You can even reward yourself or punish yourself for failing to do so. My favorite is adding/subtracting a dollar from my weekend bar budget. Also,…

You're right about the DC area. Just moved here in June, found TRP in July. It's a crazy good place for practicing this sort of thing compared to where I'm from. I also do it when I'm sitting in traffic and make eye contact with people, unless I need to drive. And yeah, you hit my method for dealing with cuties on the head. They get a half smile, maybe a nod if they smile back, and that's it. I managed a conversation with a number at one point (it never went anywhere) using this, but mostly I us…

I like your idea of making conversations a game. I would personally double the point value if the person looks down instead of to the side. I've noticed that for whatever reason, looking down instead of left or right has a huge impact on the social dynamic. I do a similar thing when I'm out around town. If I'm on the metro, and I accidentally make eye contact with a stranger, I always do my best to look away second. At first I was terrible at it, but I improved.

One thing I found that helped me was turning my text ringtone to silent. If I don't hear my phone go off, I don't check it immediately. When I get to a break in my work and check my phone, I give myself about a 10 minute window to send and reply to texts. If I don't get a reply within that period, the person has to wait until my next break (usually at least an hour)

I think this has to do with the fact that fat chicks always dream that someday they will lose the weight, and a tattoo that you got when you had lots of extra skin will look terrible afterwards.

What study showed this? I'd be interested in reviewing such claims. Otherwise I would say that this sounds just as BS as the statistics from BPers.

Ask her to hang out sometime. You'll probably fuck it up but you will get good experience. This. Ask her to hang out after school, or even just eating lunch with you. Proceed from there. Worst comes to worst, she says no. So what? You have now gained experience for use in future situations. Best case scenario? She says yes and you have a great time. Remember, at this point in your life, you're young and have 0 experience. So do they. Work on just trying things. I did this during my last year of …
