That said, it was not understood in the 1970's and 80's than these sexual obsessions were so difficult to stop. It was thought, genuinely, at the time, that if you moved the person away from the person they were attracted to, the problem would stop. In today's world there is a degree of magnitude more sexual abuse happening in public schools than there was in the Catholic Church.
