I'm sorry, but what you wrote here looks an awful lot like projection. I'm not sure what you think I'm projecting, I'm honestly confused by this. You don't remind me of myself, you remind me of the sources I'm linking to. Perhaps you can enlighten me as to how all of the women in my life were subjected to abusive behavior, and why they responded so favorably. Surely all the women I've ever known wouldn't be similarly susceptible to abuse? You'd think one of them would have noped out, and you wou…

Dread Game: Prince Charming is discriminating because he has options -- Is a type of preselection -- Being choosy shows you're not afraid of her -- Beggers can't be choosers -- Gets the rationalization hamster going -- Does he have options? Do I have competition? (built-in dread game) And a longer definition: Dread game is a technique to use in relationships where you make a girl worried that something is wrong or that you may leave her for another woman. This increases her anxiety levels to a p…

Hey there, I'm going to answer your questions, but to do so I'm going to criticize you directly. I don't typically focus on the person I'm talking with in this forum, and focus instead on the TRP ideology. I'm not going to call you names or pass judgement, just compare what you've written to facts about relationship abuse. It can be argued that using that language creates the proper paradigm for interacting, especially for men who are used to being shocked and awed by women. This is the first re…

I hate to break this to you, but you just listed all the hallmarks of abusive relationships and then said that some of them come naturally to you. That is why I have a problem with RP - you call things that are obvious abuse 'natural,' or 'inevitable,' and that they are actually the secrets to making women happy. I don't know if I could ever convince you that what you wrote is actually the best criticism of TRP I've ever seen, because you seem to be into it so deeply that you can't take a step b…

It's pretty clear you haven't read much about this at all, actually. The humanities has some intensely interesting stuff about human interaction. Like it or not, but TRP itself is a humanities-style theory, just like feminism is. This isn't science, though the scientific method is used in some humanistic studies. But overall, there is a tremendous amount of academic study into what we're talking about, and disregarding it out of hand is silly. For instance, male studies is a developing field in …

So if it's just a set of social skills, what's with all the condescending language toward women, and the need for manipulation and abuse? If you're just trying to be a more self-prossesed person and increase your social skills, why do you need to try to control women and make them behave certain ways? Negging, dread game, spinning plates, etc., etc. are specific to TRP but are presented alongside the advice for traditional social skills in a way that suggests everyone does this and they are requ…

You're trying to hard to reinvent the wheel. The humanities has been studying human interaction for centuries, and the social sciences for decades. Go read what they have to say.

Almost all women say things like "i want a guy who is kind and sweet" or "i want a guy who is great with kids", but when they go out to a club on friday night they are not looking for guys that are great with kids. When their kids are grown, they are not turned on by a husband that was "great with kids" 10 years ago. They may have at one point in their lives, but that doesnt make it a sexually attractive trait. All of this is confirmation bias - you're looking for it, so it's all you see. "Most …

I know they are, but that's not special to TRP - that's normal life skills. What TRP adds into the mix is incredible misogyny and additional abusive tactics.

That doesn't paint the whole picture. Plenty of interactions have no measurable resource exchange but are a power dynamic nonetheless.

The old saying is goes, "behind every powerful man is a powerful woman," so yeah, I agree that's a trope. It's also a traditional lifestyle, and one that I feel people are free to pursue. I don't think it's ingrained into our genes to be that way, though, and men and women can interchange roles if they want to.

We're both in school, actually. When she graduates with her PhD, she's planning to go into private industry, at which point, she'll be capable of earning more than I can with my engineering degree. That will allow both of us, or either of us to work. Currently, we're also dorm parents at her university, which provides us with free housing but depends on her being a student. Between her free tuition, her student stipend, our free room and board, and our small paycheck from being dorm parents, her…

I do get the idea, because what you're describing is a normal friendship among people who have self-respect and boundaries. The lack of those things is why many guys fail with women. In essence, you agree with me. The moral of the story is to be a self-possessed person and treat others with respect. Btw, TRP does not do this - it tries to project your own insecurities onto your partner through things like dread-game and negging, and whatever else.

Right, but that's a specific scenario that hardly applies to all men or all women.

You can't objectively measure it, there is no science to do so. You're thinking about the humanities, not science, that has been around since at leaks the Greek Philosophers, which is a method for seeking truth that is never objective, and fundamentally not scientific. Alternate lenses always exist, and they are often in conflict with each other.

I assume you mean within the context of a relationship. No, I was saying in all things in society. I didn't really put limits on it. That gives the most freedom to apply many different lenses and uncover many ways which gender creates imbalance. Chasing the approval that she is feminine enough essentially, but really, it's a lot more than approval too. It's, is she feminine enough to seduce the man into commitment. But yeah, that's an example. You're seeing her motivations as deceptive, "seduce …

It depends on the region. Rural areas have a far higher rate of obesity for both men and women. A compilation of "average man" would look essentially the same.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/17 05:21 PM

I think you're also getting stuck in a rigid viewpoint. Try to see how men call the shots in various ways and how women are 'chasing' their approval. Then look at it as class/race/education struggles as well, and you'll see that almost everyone is taking advantage of everyone else, all the time. Yes, men are seeking the approval of women, but there can be simultaneous power struggles in many directions.

Because BP isn't an identity, it's just a lack of RP identity. Honestly, I don't pick sides, because these 'sides' don't actually exist (see my flair). Creating this battle between BP and RP makes a lot of useless noise. But ultimately, my sexual identity was formed long before RP existed. I was married when I found this sub, and everything I've achieved in life: relationships, casual sex, intimate sex, my degree, career, etc., was earned by using tactics that don't resemble RP very closely at a…

Um, yeah, this is basic stuff. You should always respect yourself enough to turn down something you don't like. Whether it's a flavor of ice cream or a potential girlfriend, don't suffer through something you don't like. That being said, you don't know what you like until you try it, so don't turn things down without some consideration. Try dating different women (or just hanging out with them, you don't have to make it formal right away), and see what you like. If the relationship isn't what yo…

Lots of RP advice is standard, non-controversial stuff on it's own. There are better places to find it, like r/fitness, r/malefashionadvice, etc., but overall it's fine. It's the attitude behind TRP that makes it wrong. You don't need to dominate your SO, or find ways to control her to achieve happiness. At the very least, that's a shitload of work for something you could achieve by just being honest. I've told my wife before that I haven't been to the gym in a while, feel like crap, and don't f…

and my bf is okay with having an open relationship if I really want...but realistically, I just do not have the time or money required to take 10+ other men on dates every weekend. This sounds a lot like my situation. She's had fewer partners than me, and it (thankfully not recently) caused us some tension. Swinging seemed like a solution, and we tried it for a while, but I'm with you: sex with people other than my SO simply isn't as good. Even very attractive women just don't turn me on the way…

I'm kinkier than my wife, and I think that intimidates her. It sometimes makes me hold back when discussing our needs and wants, and recently we had a big conversation about it. Happily, it went well and we talked a lot of things out. I'm proud of how we tackle problems together, and this is a challenging one. So sitting down and addressing it they way we always tackle tough problems felt really good, and like we're going to get through it, like with everything else.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/17 04:54 PM

I agree. I think the vast majority of men are seeking far more than just physical relationships with women. Most guys are people with complex needs and wants.

Let's take a step back here. Why are you bothering to tell someone that what they find attractive is wrong? What do you have to gain by trying to change someone else? Do you think that changing that person will make it easier for you to be attractive to them? Well isn't it easier to change yourself instead of someone else, and add being a comforting person to your personality so you have a better chance of attracting her? Or maybe you two aren't compatible and should seek other partners. Trying …

I've never seen people shamed for living a conservative lifestyle. The problems arise when people start telling each other how to live, instead of just living their own lives.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/02/17 04:47 PM

Why are you separating those two ideas? Attraction to someone takes many things into account, and you can't control what someone finds attractive. If someone is attracted to comfort, are you going to tell them they're wrong?

I also think that lots of men who go to prostitutes are looking for intimacy as much as physical satisfaction. There are stories that lots of guys just want to talk, not even taking clothes off. But when sex does happen and intimacy is a goal, then that requires some amount of mutual enjoyment.

I don't think your test is a scientific one, but let's assume that it is. If it is, it means that women are falling for guys who, Don't hit on them all the time Are more likely to talk to them as equals Are more likely to share common interests Are more likely to engage and support them emotionally So what does that tell you about what women want, vs. how trp tells men to act?

You're getting stuck seeing things only one way. Don't force everything into a single perepective: that will cut you off from lots of information. Try seeing things a couple of different ways before making up your mind about a situation. Honestly look at a situation from the perspective of a woman taking advantage of a man, then reverse it and see if there are ways that the man is taking advantage of the woman, then do it again with race, class, education levels, or any other differences. You'll…

A stable relationship implies help raising children. Is it so hard to understand that co-parenting is an evolutionary advantage? A man gets to bail, a pregnant woman doesn't. So someone seeking to have a child is acting in their best long terms interests to find a stable, reliable partner.

You could say that all of society is geared toward getting man's approval as well. I don't think you hit on an objective truth, just a lens through which to view situations. It may be enlightening to see things that way, but don't get stuck only seeing things that way.

It's a debate sub about a lifestyle. The lifestyle is guaranteed to be criticized here. I'm not going to apologize for that, or put on kid gloves when arguing against something I consider manipulative abusive and wrong. If you can't separate a criticism of trp as it's written down in that subreddit from your own identity, then maybe you shouldn't be posting in a debate sub about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/17 11:22 PM

Oh yeah, your post was totally benevolent and made to help out this poor girl, right? Or maybe you wanted to use her dating misfortune as a tool in your crusade to paint "bloopers" as hipocrits. Yeah you're such a nice guy.

I'm not insulting you, and I'm tired of you and other people in this sub treating disagreement as a personal attack on your character. If you can't stand it don't come to a debate sub. Aside from that, trp is a self-fulfilling prophecy of seeking out the worst people possible and then trying to beat them at their own game. If it has written anything down it's a list of all the worst character traits exhibited buy a small number of people, and then declares that all people are like that, that it …

To be honest your post made you sound like an incel. If that's not the case then maybe you shouldn't be so angry when you post. Regardless no one can control what others think or what they want, so there's no such thing as deserving anything. If someone doesn't want you, there's no point being upset about it because there's very little you could do about it. Likewise, if someone likes you it's the same situation in reverse, and you don't have to like them back.

Have you considered that blunt women are attracted to black men? The shortcut to figuring out what people are into is to look at how they behave. It's not perfect but it's a start.

Yeah except the original post makes fun of her weight. He criticizes her for being too picky but then calls her fat. So it sounds like the guy who's jaded about someone else having more choice is setting the bar too high as well. You could just send her a message and ask her on a date, but instead he wrote a wall of text mocking her. So I'm not going to be very sympathetic.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/17 10:28 PM

I'm not sure why this is even at debate then. It just sounds like all the same dissatisfaction that is expressed in trp all the time. If anything she should be relatable.

Then go ahead and explain them. Every time someone tries to justify them it's walking back from the rhetoric as it is published in the sidebar. It's always a collection of weasel words to pretend that these words don't actually mean how trp defines them or uses them. But no one seems willing to take responsibility for writing them in the first place or for leaving them in the sidebar as is.

I thought it was a law of physics that all women have millions of choices all the time and that it was impossible for a woman to be foreveralone. If anything, this is evidence that the trp trope of female privilege and abundant choice of mates is a crock of shit.

Yes you did. You just said these guys are failing with women and they are a representation of TRP. Allllright, we're getting that specific. I've never said that TRP universally cannot work. I admit that some people may respond to it, but generally it's a pretty crappy way to live your life. This runs into some issues. Under most circumstances, I would call myself a feminist because I believe in equal rights and treatment for women. But I don't call myself that in PPD because it's a hotly debated subject here, and I'm not an expert in feminism. I don't study it, I don't really read up on it, and I only know the basics. People develop more specific tastes as they get older. When you're young, you're not sure what you like, so you think anyone who meets a baseline is attractive. The "bad" thing just makes some of them stand out, particularly to people who lack a strong self-identity. Be thin, show skin, and youre wanted. This simply isn't enough after a while.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/17 08:37 PM

I mean, yeah. Most of the problem with TRP is the attitude that it takes toward all of this. It's unnecessary to achieve the goals of TRP, and actually works against those goals in most cases. A lot of the advice is pretty bland or uncontroversial, but the attitude behind how it's carried out makes it aggressive, predatory, and generally creepy AF.

I think there's a lot more to it than just SMV. I feel like most men don't understand what makes them attractive to women (TRP is my biggest example of that), so they downplay their own value and don't understand what makes them valuable people. This is why TRP exists - as wrong as TRP is about what to do about this issue, it does correctly identify that the issue is real.

alpha and beta are rigid definitions that are too narrow to accurately apply to all people in all situations. There is so much more than these two things, and forcing everything into one category or the other is actually teaching you less about social interaction, not more. Women are like men: they have diverse opinions on what they find attractive. "Dad bod" has apparently become a thing recently. shrug Emotion is necessary. When they show up to sexual awareness workshops and contribute to the discussion in meaningful ways, I know that they at least have knowledge, experience, and interests that are outside what is written in TRP. I take issue with the tone and motivations of TRP, but ignoring those things, much of what is said can be constructive: working out dressing better building confidence etc. Things along those lines. The problem is that it approaches those things for the wrong reasons or with assumptions that are eventually self-defeating. There are also better places to get that advice; r/malefashionadvice, r/fitness, etc.

A lot of it is craving identity, IMO. Young people lack life experience and a strong self-image, and they are attracted to people who appear to have those things. A very easy way to look like you have an identity and strong self-image is to act like a 'bad boy' in whatever form that takes. It's not only women; plenty of men are attracted to 'bad girls,' whatever that may mean, for all the same reasons. People who look like they have a consistent viewpoint and some strong opinions to back it up a…

Well, I could say a few things, but if that's your goal you need to understand women in the first place and know what they want. That's something that people in TRP and related subs - by definition - struggle with. So doing a bunch of tasks for the sole purpose of making women chase you may or may not work. If it doesn't work (because you fundamentally don't understand your problems with women) then you've wasted a shit load of time and energy. A better strategy is to figure out what you like an…

That about sums it up in general terms. I take specific issue with the tone of many things as well. I don't see gender as inherently combative, and doing something just to make women chase you is doing something for the wrong reasons. Maybe we should all read what third-wave-feminism actually is: Third-wave feminism refers to several diverse strains of feminist activity and study, whose exact boundaries in the history of feminism are a subject of debate, but are generally marked as beginning in the early 1990s and continuing to the present. The movement arose partially as a response to the perceived failures of and backlash against initiatives and movements created by second-wave feminism during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, a…

Women like men with options. Only when those options exist because they are truly excellent people. If you're a competent, hard-working, decent person, you have options and you don't have to neg or dread game. If you're pretending to be a competent, hard-working, decent person but in reality can't keep something on your own merit, you manipulate others through negging and dread game.

Well, no, this thread is about a specific concept and why it exists. It's not meant to cover all behavior at all times, nor will it perfectly fit with any individual's actions. That's why it sounds so broad. innocuous, harmless Nice Guys. Most of them are, sure, but even the harmless ones can get frustrated by what I described and what they may feel is a lack of reciprocity, and I'm trying to outline why it happens.

Women will never have interests about worldy things the way men do because of our inherently different drives and motivations. Nothing matters more to most women than having a man under their grasp that's willing to provide, and if needed, die for them. TLDR Nearly everything women talk about or care about or have interest in revolves around seducing and catching and keeping a man, namely they talk about relationships, beauty, fashion, food, sex, and men. So how do feminists play into this? I do…

You're proving my point for me if you can't understand subtlety. I'm polite to people all the time, smile at everyone, and I compliment people when it's appropriate. What I don't do is demand someone's attention simply because I'm attracted to them for whatever reason. But just this past week, I had two conversations in my office elevator on different days: one with a grandmother and one with the most beautiful woman in my office, and they could have been interchanged. I treated them the same wa…

It's meant to be simple because the target audience has no idea what they are doing. It's consent 101. After 15 years of marriage, you're into the advanced courses. That being said, if consent ruins the mood, then I suggest we need a culture shift on sex in general. "Hell ya I wanna fuck" should be considered sexy, not a mood-killer. If ambiguity is the only way we can get turned on, then I'm a little disturbed.

I think that's backward. RP men by definition aren't confident. They are surfing TRP because they have no idea what they're doing and are trying to figure it out. My core argument is that TRP is not the best (or even close to correct) way to be better in life. So most confident, successful men aren't RP at all anyway. So a quite, meek dude is far more likely to be RP than a confident one.

Says who? Says me. It's not nice if it comes with an expectation of something greater in return. It should be returned with an equal gesture and nothing more. If it isn't, then maybe the recipient is just having a bad day. Either way, move on. Also, when you do something for someone when they don't ask for it, but you expect something in return, you're creating a transaction that they didn't agree to, and expecting something in return. Copy and paste from an older conversation. It's not perfectly relevant to the topic, but it's an alternate view. Also, from personal experience, TRP notices something that happens in the dating world and then applies a logic to it that I've never seen to be true. I think it's important to separate the academic study of feminism from it's treatment in mainstream society. Academic Feminism is a theory that has evolved over the years. It is applied to many situations to uncover power dynamics related to gender roles. Much of it also discusses how men are unfairly treated in society, and that spawned a new line of thinking called masculinity studies. What is discussed in the maintream though, is usually a poor representation of what academic feminism is. Mos…

And going further, when the niceness isn't unduly rewarded, the 'nice guys' get spiteful quickly and stop being nice altogether. That's when the insults start to fly, and you scan see that …

You've exaggerated reality a bit. Everything you say happens, happens, but not to that extent. Most people in college go out and party, and some party a ton. However, most people go home alone at the end of the night. The high-end average, IMO, for a single person having actual sex after a party with someone that they aren't dating is only once per week. Everyone else is in a more stable relationship or not having sex. By far, most men and women arrive and leave with their friends. The super-hig…

Reposted per mod request: I'm BP and I went through an anger phase in college. I was recently dumped, heartbroken, and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. It was easy to get girlfriends in HS, and suddenly I wasn't as successful. It was frustrating. The key difference is that I didn't blame my failures on women. I don't think that's entirely correct. Women don't like being constantly hit on and won't tolerate it. If you "friend-zone" a woman up front and just treat her like a person, regardless of your own sexual activities, she'll accept you as a friend and get close to you. But that goes both ways. I definitely avoid women that hit on me because I'm married and do not want to be around people who are trying to sleep with friends and co-workers.

First women don't seem to mind as much if men have baggage. That's subjective. I've seen plenty of men get involved with women who have children. Enough to say that I don't think you can conclusively say one gender deals with more baggage than the other. Keep in mind that as a dude, you probably don't realize some things you do that may drive women nuts. As for women who focused on their careers and educations, the problem is young bodies are just hotter than older ones. A 35 yo woman may have n…

My personal proof is that I've achieved most of what TRP says it wants without using TRP tactics. I'm also not particularly proud of my sexual past. So going a step further than achieving the goals, I feel that the goals themselves aren't the secret to happiness or confidence.

Hating on Dale Carnegie? That's so comical. How is that comical? Just because he's famous doesn't make him above criticism. And being popular isn't the same as being right. Feminism is popular, but you disagree with it. You ever study marketing? Are marketers evil to you because they analyze and utilize people's emotions? So interpersonal relationships boil down to selling something to someone so you can make a profit? That's not the type of relationship I want with my loved ones, hence my criti…

How to Win Friends and Influence People That book is a perfect example of what's wrong with TRP, to be honest. I've read it, and it's basically a book on how to manipulate people, and not even very well. It's essentially how to trick, confuse or intimidate others to get them to do what you want, and is a perfect analogy for how TRP isn't a very good approach to life. A better book (though imperfect) is The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, which takes the exact opposite approach to life. Like…

It's designed to weed out people who aren't willing to desire the facts and ultimately the truth about attraction. One of the only ways to do that is to vilify the opposite sex in order to frame the mindset necessary then to undo the social conditioning we've come to call normal. I would go as far as to say it's one of the only ways to dispel the lies. Right, and that's such a large load of BS that it's hard to even begin dissecting it. Honestly, if that's all it was, I wouldn't have a problem with TRP. It's the infusion of rhetoric about how women are inferior, scheming, evil, and out to get men that is alarming. And beyond that, the rhetoric is then used to justify horrible attitudes and behaviors toward women. Suddenly, a slew of abusive behaviors are encouraged because 'women deserve it,' or are 'asking for it,' or that 'they did it first,' and so on. Not with those alone, no. Reading a book about fixing your car doesn't fix your car. You have to actually go outside and fix the car. Reading more books, discussing them with others who read, writing your own books based on those books and discussions, and getting combative with outsiders about how your books are objectively better than their books still doesn't fix the car.

The idea of gender is being challenged. It's not that they want more labels, it's that they do not want the existing labels. A linguist professor I know has a running bet that over the next 20 years, "he" and "she" will go away and everyone will be called "they." His argument is that trying to remember specific pronouns for each person we meet is a pain in the ass and that laziness will win, and everyone will be called the same thing. I think I put in $5.

Some people deny that their friend is a bad person, even after said friend assaults them. They want to believe in their friend badly enough that they put themselves in danger a second time. Many rape victims play it off as a mistake or misunderstanding, or something similar because they do not want to confront that they've been raped, or that someone they trusted turned out to be bad.

TRP is for people who think that they're too soft and innocent to be successful in this world, so they turn to a get-rich-quick scheme that tells them the secret to life is to actually be a jerk. This indicates that they're weren't all that nice to begin with, which was probably the real source of their problems all along.

This is only one possible explanation though, seeing as many things have also declined over the decades, like lead levels and pollution in general. I'm not sure how you can fit TRP into that framework, TBH. I don't think that a vast feminist conspiracy can somehow reduce testosterone levels in men.

I hate you break it to you, but 18-23 year olds look like children to anyone over 30. Facial features of young people aren't well defined, which is the basis of the 'youthful' look that you can recognize, but not always describe. With that in mind, young people actually don't have attractive faces, just 'youthful' looking ones. So no, that isn't the basis of attraction for all people. Some people, sure, but not everyone. I don't dismiss it, but TRP observes a dating phenomenon and then interprets it in a completely unrealistic manner. Shit tests are a good example. TRP thinks a woman is testing for Alpha-ness, but it's far more likely that women are poking at their partners to see how well they stand up to confrontation. TRP's mission is to discuss men's identity, sexual strategy, and options in the context of our current global culture for the benefit of men. Anyone who does not share that goal will be banned the instant we detect them. We are not interested in debating or defending our experiences to those who disagree with the red pill, nor do we want to clog up our threads defending the morality of our choices. "for the benefit of men" But I share that goal, I just disagree about how to get there. The reason…

People are wise and know well how to protect themselves while dropping hints. FTFY. Also, she probably wanted to test the waters to see if she had someone else once she jumped ship on her boyfriend. That's not uncommon for both men and women to do. It's how most young people who get into LTR's jump from relationship to relationship, and a few adults who never learned how to be on their own.

At the very least, TRP does not promise anything. Are you serious? If it doesn't promise anything, how does it get people to sign up? They're not seeing the Alpha male status and plate spinning as a promise made to them? And all the posts saying that if they aren't achieving those things it's because they aren't TRP'ing hard enough? Seriously, the implied result of TRP (which is mostly bluntly stated) is that you will become a successful male and sleep around if you follow TRP.

TRP is a viewpoint on the world, and perceives certain senarios in a certain way. In some circumstances, it can reveal a ton of productive information about human motivations. Where else can men do this, and talk frankly? Unfortunately, I don't have an answer to that. TRP is a response to real issues in our society plaguing men. Unfortunately, it's probably the worst possible response. The modern man needs to be a whole lot more worldly than the TRP ideal, but no one has created that space. AskTRP and PPD are just insulation for TRP against the outsiders who disagree with them. TRP never has to deal with dissenting opinion because there are a handful of people who 'debate' TBP people on their behalf. So TRP gets to stay a 'safe space' for some pretty awful stuff, IMO.

I think it's up to the individuals within the relationship. If they're both 'free' to go out, but only one party does and it doesn't cause a problem, great! If the expectations are unequal, and one person is demanding privileges that the other is denied (no matter what the topic), then that's just bullshit and the one being denied should throw a shit fit about it. "ALL women are bad because they ALL don't emphasize with a SMALL GROUPING of men." Your premise compares two groups that are difficult to compare, and slants the argument so much that it's impossible to have a fruitful discussion about it. If it was meant as a 'colorful analogy' (oh, we just call them dishonest idiots as a joke lolololololololol), then why doesn't it say that? If things were handled better, or at least just fine in the 1970s, why is it the peak of the graph? What caused the decline in rapes since the 1970s? So its not so much that rape is easy to get away with but that rape is more difficult to prove than other crimes. True, this is a problem that 'rape culture' is also trying to address. And if that were all there was to it Id be fine but its not. The very idea of rape culture pushes the idea that because its rape people choose to be dishonest…

This is a major problem when debating statistics actually, and I regret bringing them into this. I can tell you that a campus wide, anonymous survey at my unversity supports these numbers. Something like 1 in 2 have been sexually assaulted and 1 and 7 experience penetrative rape. The number of reported cases were super tiny by comparison. There are rigorous methods for determining the statistics, but I consider them more useful as an indicator rather than a hard and fast number. It's a fish find…

His life is ruined, his career is ruined. Feminists will continue to make his life a living hell. Total speculation. There will be dozens of articles about why he was acquitted. You can tell when a feminist is a liar when they bring up the 2-8 percent statistic, then lop off the 8 percent Ok, 8 percent. That's still not oppression by women, especially when 68% go unreported. The point isn't about the exact number, it's about the apparent magnitude of the problem. 2-8% is incredibly small and sho…

Um, wasn't Jian Ghomeshi just acquited? Weren't there Blue Pillers in this thread talking about how shitty the women were for doing that to him? And statistics indicate the exact opposite of what you just said. Only about 2% of all rape and related sex charges are determined to be false, the same percentage as for other felonies (FBI). Rape culture is easily misunderstood because it has an alarming title. Rape culture is meant to describe the fact that it is extremely easy to get away with rape in our current culture compared to other felonies. If you assualt someone, steal a car, commit armed robbery, etc., you're much more likely to be caught or charged than if you rape someone. Witnesses are also much more likely to come forward and describe what they see when it's a non-sexual crime. So no, it's not your job to go vigilant…

That's easy: oppressors vs. oppressed. Feminists have made a case that women are oppressed by certain societal structures and are actively seeking equal treatment by society. Racists, as traditionally defined, are the oppressors and in the past and created unequal societal structures. There are exact opposites of each other. The movement to counter act societal racism was the Civil Rights movement and is most well known for its accomplishments in the 1960s. So there was an anti-racist movement t…

Women stand idly and silently nod their heads while this shit happens because they benefit from it. The only ones standing up to this BS are explicitly anti-feminist women, but they get shit on by society. That's ridiculous. Most people are busy living their lives and don't have time to die for every cause they don't agree with. Institutional racism benefits me, but I disagree with it. I generally assume that the justice system does its job and try not to comment on specific cases that look like they are evidence for one side or another during debate. I've run into so many legal concepts and vocabulary that I either don't know or don't understand when I look it up, that I feel sufficiently unqualified to comment on the implications of rulings. They can sometimes happen for the smallest of technicalities rather than for large, society-condemning systemic issues.

I don't subscribe to a pill. And when did Blue Pill turn into a thing? When TBP was talked about as a unified group in the past BP'ers would shut it down hard since they aren't. Exactly my point, I think we just had a misreading somewhere. My overall point is that TRP is manipulative with some of it's tacticts, and it's not the 'good' kind of manipulation that people are talking about (which I still say isn't all that good). The problems TBP people have centered around the fact that certain tactics fall under this definition: to control or play upon by artful, unfair, or insidious means especially to one's own advantage. I disagree. I don't think TRP adequately describes all men and women, and if you need an internet forum to teach you about your own wife, then you simply don't know enough about her. "Talking it out" is how you discover what someone wants/likes/appreciates, but it's not enough on its own. You need to then act on those things, which I believe is the disconnect for many people. TRP replaces talking or understanding your partner with it's own general interpretation of women, then tells you to act o…

I'm not trying to change your opinion, but you should consider this: In literary and historical analysis, presentism is the anachronistic introduction of present-day ideas and perspectives into depictions or interpretations of the past. Some modern historians seek to avoid presentism in their work because they consider it a form of cultural bias, and believe it creates a distorted understanding of their subject matter.[1] The practice of presentism is regarded by some as a common fallacy in hist…

When TBP is asked they always say "oh we just make fun of RP, we're a satire sub", but lately i see lots of serious posts about hating on individual members and how upset reading RP makes people feel and things that arent remotely satire. TRP is a damaging thing to read for a lot of people. TBP provides a place to vent, so some posts are mean. Call it the TBP 'anger phase.' EDIT: damaging, as in pissed people off. Sorry for the poor word choice already!

you are making statements without proof to back them up. Look man, I really want to have an honest debate. I gave you three sources to back up my claim, and you still say things like that. Then stop replying. Being the last person to reply is not the same as winning the argument. You haven't presented a single bit of evidence, or anything else to justify your, let's be honest; ignorant claim: that's because broadly speaking, in the western world they are. This is what I mean by arguing in good faith. You're going after the tiniest detail to undermine my arguments instead of trying to understand what I'm saying. You think the western world is anti-man and promotes a female friendly agenda to the detriment of men. I'm not declaring it. I didn't create TRP, I didn't define it, and I'm simply pointing out that the definition of that word, as established by many sources, applies to that group. You can look for a logical fallacy in all of that, or you can accept that the definition of that word describes TRP.

Interesting, thanks for the source. I'm not blind to social attitudes and agree 100% that men and women are treated differently in society. My problem with TRP is that I don't agree that women are inferior, and that a lot of the dating tactics are immoral. But I've never put much emphasis on what mass-media tells me, since it's all a controlled message anyway. I never heard a pro-woman bias and actually thought that women were better. The examples you've given have been vague points about your own university that do not address the wider problem or the numerous other universities that for example are getting sued for violating a males students rights. I don't see it as obvious. Seriously, I'd like to know where you get the impression that they demand to be treated like dainty butterflies. If anything, it's moved away from that. Remember Mad Men, when Betty got the news that she had cancer? The doctor told Don (or her new husband, I don't remember which), and not her. It was common back then to talk about women in the room as if they weren't there. Now THAT was treating them like dainty butterflies.

I understand your point, but I think that's a personal interpretation rather than what is pretty explicitly stated in the TRP sidebar. You can I can debate what we individually value, but when you read TRP canon, it is heavily derogatory toward women, and it reads to mean that women are universally inferior.

some of the anti cardio hyperbole is a bit much in RP It's all about what works for you as an individual. Should be the same with sexual strategy as well. Group think isn't usually a good answer.

Quite the opposite actually. First, those things are used by many identities and movements, not just women (and only some women, mind you). But the purpose of those ideas is to carve out a space for those discussions, otherwise they would be drowned out by the status-quo. It's a tool to allow those things to be talked about until the movements behind them; gay rights, womens rights (in the future, probably mens rights), become legitimized by mainstream society. Every group has to fight for its p…

You're talking about connotation vs denotation, or how words are used vs. their strict definition. I used the definition exactly because it's written down and it doesn't become an argument about what we each think the word means. By definition, a lot of the TRP canon is misogynist. The TRP sidebar even admits this, saying that TRP is very non-PC. If you're not comfortable with the word misogynist, then I don't know what to tell you, the word is what the word is.

Whoa dude, taking it back to the Greek roots in order to create a new interpretation of the word that you can argue against isn't at all relevent. I used the modern definition for a reason, because it's how it's currently used, and I'd prefer you didn't redefine words just to make a case. That's disingenuous. The definition is what it is, and if you have a prejudice against women you are, by definition, misogynist. You need to either own it, or declare that it's meaningless, ala Atlas Shrugged.

I think that male sexuality feels threatened by identity politics. Straight males are left without a strong definition for what it was to be a man. Over the last ten years we've seen as culture become solidified legally, feminism has moved the needle to a more equal society and minorities have all made strides in mainstream society. A side effect of this is the perceived erosion of white, straight male identity, and it has people freaked the fuck out. TRP is attempting to fill this vacuum, but I…

I've written it several times today. https://www.reddit.com/r/PurplePillDebate/comments/4b8ec3/z/d17woz1 The legal issue may also be US vs. UK, but women are plenty legally responsible in the US. I don't what you're referring to otherwise. Again, I'm only speaking about the US. Also, you don't debate in good faith. Alright, going back to a previous point, I disagree with your end analogy. TRP seems pretty simple and formulaic: Anger phase, monk mode, lift/clothes/hair, dark-triad, spin plates. You mean pre-trp men? Anyone who looks to TRP for answers. ..Or they are just pointing out womens shit as part of the de-pedestal process. I've heard that claim before, but it's not entirely accurate. You can 'de-pedestal' someone by showing how they are like everyone else. Sure, I just disagree with that sentiment and think it's a silly generalization that's impossible to support. I've also met plenty of high quality people who are women (I married one), so my personal experience doesn't come anywhere near to supporting it either. Honestly I'm wondering if it's all just experience bias. I used to hang out with shitty people and I had a different outlook on life and relationships back then. We're getting hung up on how we use the word substantially, which is beside the point. I'll agree with your definition in order to get back on track. Men and women are different, and even want different things in the dating marketplace. I think we agree on that. My argument is that TRP does not suggest that women are equal, but that it rather obviously states that women are inferior to men. I made an argument for that here.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/03/16 08:20 PM

Actually it has a definition that your actions can be compared to: dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women. That's not based on an ideology, it's just the definition of the word. All you're debating is whether or not you care that you are a mysogynist.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/03/16 08:16 PM

I've never seen it only apply to women, so I can't comment on that. But I think an anti-obesity campaign is coming. Obama care has made personal health choices a problem for other people, since we're now essentially all pooled together in a national risk pool. Unhealthy people can no longer be dropped from coverage, so someone will be paying their hospital bills when things go wrong. Harder working people are always more compensated. Well, generally. I'm ignoring people who have things handed to them. Men and women are looking for different things. It's easier for women to find random sex, but that's not as interesting to them as it is to men. Consider: the potential consequences for women are worse; pregnancy, easier to contract STD's the average woman is outmatched physically by the average man, so it's less safe for women to be alone with men than vise versa the basic mechanics are opposite: a woman is allowing a person to enter her body. Stop referring to the sidebar. This is the best advice, IMO. The sidebar is where the worst stuff is written. More TRP'ers follow a much more mild interpretation of the concepts defined in the sidebar compared to what's actually written there. My basic business and marketing acumen tells me if there was a better source of information/ advice, there would be more men who struggle with women following that forum instead of trp. Finally, someone in this thread I agree with. I'm a nice guy who always did well with women. Being nice was a basic part of my personality and nothing to write home about. What I actually focused on in high school was: being a drummer in any band I could find, school or otherwise building things in my garage going to my brothers' house parties working a restaurant job finding new music video games sound/video/photo editing I was a nice guy and had some nerdy interests, but I also had interesting…

Wow, the hatred for OP in this thread is astounding. I think he has a great idea, actually. Why shouldn't he be selective with who he sleeps with? There are plenty of shitty people in the world and this seems like a good way to avoid a large majority of them. In fact, as you grow older, you'll stop being attracted to the majority of women. It's because you've figured out what you like in a partner and know what you want. Anyone who puts you down for doing what you want with your own life isn't h…

That would be great, except the TRP sidebar spells out exactly what those words mean here. For example: Rationalization Hamster: Analogy for the thought processes used by women to turn bad behavior and bad decisions into acceptable ones to herself and her friends. When a woman makes a bad decision, the hamster spins in its wheel (the woman’s thinking) and creates some type of acceptable reasons for that bad decision. The crazier the decision, the faster the hamster must spin in order to successf…

You missed my point. It's not about legal vs. Illegal. I used those terms to be explicit about what is morally questionable. Many outsiders believe that the tactics TRP suggests are morally questionable and take objection to them. Examples include the concepts of overcoming last minute resistance, negging, etc. There is a subset of TRP advice that promotes manipulation and bullying to get women. That's where 99% of TRP criticism comes from.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/03/16 12:05 PM

May have been too specifics. You describe their thought process as hampstering, meaning when they think they have a little hampstering going round and round trying to figure things out. It's commonly said in TRP so I'm not sure why you're denying it.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/03/16 12:01 PM

Which is bullshit. You have a rather specific sidebar that calls women hamsters and says they respond to dominance and whatever. But whenever I've claimed that being nice and respectful has gotten me dates or into relationships I've been told that I was practicing Red Pill without realizing it. It's infuriating that the Red Pill simultaneously shits on any man who doesn't follow the strict guidelines to being an alpha male yet claims ownership of everyone who succeeds. A lot of the negativity to…

about outsiders who shame them with every word. I think TRP suffers from a lot of selective reading. I don't shame TRP with every post, and I try to engage honestly. Most TBP people in PPD do as well. Most of what TRP points out is pretty routine dating advice, but the undercurrent of women-as-inferior is specifically what people object to. The fact that TRP advocates never acknowledge that those attitudes are prevalent in the TRP philosophy is where the negative treatment toward TRP people come…

Can you show me where TRP says to violently and forcefully rape a woman? I didn't say that. Read more carefully. Do you think it's proper for someone who believes homosexuality is immoral to call people on gay subreddits toxic? No but we're in PPD, not TRP. I don't go into TRP and say anything, so this argument doesn't apply to anything. The entire reason PPD exists is to provide a forum for each 'side' to criticize the other.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/03/16 07:41 PM

But take your example to the extreme and pretend that it's not TRP, but a subreddit that advocates rape. If the goal of the subreddit is to encourage rape, and someone from that subreddit rapes someone after reading that subreddit, we should all turn a blind eye because the subreddit isn't any of our business? Same with murder, or petty theft, or abuse? Or what about something legal, like owning a bunch of money, but the subreddit suggests how to bribe, steal, or intimidate people to get it? Do …

I read the TRP sidebar in 2014, but it has been rewritten since and seems to be toned down a lot. The most negative things are now harder to find, though I haven't read it again in detail. However I feel quite qualified to speak about women, dating and general relationships without being an expert on TRP. In fact, I believe that the more someone reads TRP, the further they get from the truth on most dating issues.

Yes. But obviously experiences vary, and that's more likely to influence the answers in here. I wouldn't recommend a shitty marriage to anyone. But I think you're looking for a objective, infallible truth about the idea of marriage, which isn't something you'll find. In my experience, the positive aspects that are possible in any marriage is that you have a teammate to help you through life's chalenges. That can be a powerful advantage.

I get what you're saying, and maybe there is a sweet spot. I don't have evidence to disagree. Because they only care about one thing while ignoring everything else. A true high achiever puts effort into most things they do. They put some of the same drive for their passion into everything. Highly functional people tend to be good at whatever they attempt because they aren't satisfied by a half- assed effort. A 'nerd' who only cares about programming isn't a high achiever. There's a difference of intent, too. TBP isn't a single ideology like TRP is, so there's no single viewpoint to promote. Plus Reddit culture is not designed for constructive dialogue, and the only discourse that gets upvoted is divisive arguments, and the more you shut down your 'opponent,' the better.

No. Everyone should be trying to date as 'high' as they can. That's the very nature of competition. And what each person decides is important to them is what they should be looking for in someone else. It doesn't have to be physical attractiveness, or anything definable, really. You don't even need to understand it, and it's none of your business anyway. You can't impose your standards of dating on everyone.

Hey, I appreciate the thoughtful post, and think you've hit on some things. I'd like to address a couple of them. First: But I do think the environments people choose to be in correspond to what they believe about the opposite sex. I meant in relationships. TRP guys will happily sleep around, but I don't see them entering a relationship with anyone that doesn't fit the published ideal of a woman. Or if they do, they won't tell anyone on TRP about it. I think TRP is mostly young, single dudes without a lot of dating experience. Once they gain some experience in both dating an in daily human interactions, or just grow up a bit, they tend to drop out of the community.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/16 08:19 PM

Some of that is driven by the culture of Reddit, which is adversarial. Upvotes are given to people who are aggressivly contrarian and the goal is to 'win' and argument by silencing your opponent, rather than actually achieving truth. I don't think the dudes on TRP know much about themselves or dating in general and are told to have unrealistic expectations. If they didn't have an echo-chamber telling them they're worthless if they don't ride the cock-carousel, then they'd probably be a lot happier. But now they won't settle for anything other than women that don't actually exist.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/16 08:11 PM
4

I've lived through all of that, and it's also self-selecting the women who attend parties. There are plenty of men and women who don't go out regularly. And for those who do, the numbers drop off pretty quickly. I'd say most freshmen go out at least a handful of times, but by senior year friend groups are solidified and people are either going to bars or to much smaller groupings of close friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/16 08:09 PM

Lots of people say that, but it doesn't make it true. People are actually pretty terrible at knowing what they want and knowing what will make them happy. I had a bunch of hookups in college and they were some of the worst and most regrettable sex that I had, and definitely didn't make me happier.

What I'm talking about is different and related more to trust and respect, and the best way I can describe it is through two examples: OP gets a lot of attention from women and seems to…

I just soak up the attention because I have a pathological need for validation. TBH, you sound like you have most things under control, but if you want to aim for actual happiness, get this for yourself or from your close loved ones. It's generally a good idea to limit how much control strangers have over you, and this is an area of vulnerability.

It's text, man, half-anything just doesn't come through. If you want to discuss this more, I'm happy to. I just know that as soon as one party gets defensive about a topic, all productive discussion ends.

People don't have the time, patience, or give enough of a shit to be your life coach, so they give you platitudes to make you go away. "Just be yourself" is ultimately correct, but it's the cliffs notes of a much larger mindset, which leaves you wondering "yes, but how do I get there??" To which everyone thinks, "figure it out for yourself. I had to."

You're partly a trophy, and if you give them attention, it makes them feel attractive. If you sleep with them, you're confirming that they're attractive enough to 'pull' a guy like you. Sometimes, you don't even matter, and it's just about showing each other up. I hate to say it, but the way you talk, it sounds like you allow yourself to be a disposable toy because it gets you attention and sex, and it also sounds like you know exactly what it feels like to be a hot woman.

women basically have two completely different answers. Which one they give depends on convenience. So, can someone explain why women do it and why they're constantly switching between two opposite answers? A couple of things here. One, you're generalizing a lot here, and I bet different women have different opinions on this. Also, most people aren't experts on cultural pressures, so they may not fully understand why they do these things, and are trying to figure it out themselves. So I don't ful…

and you'd generally quite supportive of that view. I never said that, and wouldn't say that. You're not listening to me at all; you're telling me what you want me to say so that you can yell and holler and claim your world view is justified. You don't want a conversation, you want a recording of yourself saying things you hate so you can yell at it. I'm not going to respond to you anymore.

I'm not going to argue the merits of a situation that you made up. That's a pointless exercise, and you've set it up in a way that you can call yourself correct no matter what. If this were an easy answer then TRP wouldn't exist and you wouldn't be asking these questions, but here's my response: Learn and understand your limitations, and work to better yourself in the way that YOU want. If that means weight lifting, great! But if it means taking basket weaving courses, also great! To do that though, you need to accept other's identities. Feminism exists, and it's not going away. Learn to accept it as part of the world around you. if a woman has particular beliefs that …

You had me until this: That's going to start with lifting. It's frustrating to see such narrow advice. This is so stereotypical of an RP response that I honestly think you might be satire. FFS, there's more to physical fitness than lifting. You can run, play a sport, and even basic stretching will help improve someone's mood. If OP is really as disabled as he claims he is, maybe lifting heavy shit isn't the best idea. Another great idea would be to close his laptop and stop reading TRP. It's cle…

I think TRP appeals to anyone with who struggles with what it means to be a man. You fall into this category, saying that being taken care of is humiliating. That has nothing to do with sex, and everything to do with your life not lining up with traditional ideas of masculinity. Let's face it; straight male identity has changed a lot, and the traditional role models are very unfashionable. If you take a stereotypical man from the 1950s, for example, he might be a smoking, racist, sexist, even th…

The way it reads, it looks like the solution is mostly aimed at a problem with boys, but that the limit applies to both genders. Honestly, I think the intent is pro-male, but whether or not this actually achieves that is p for debate.

philosophy is the study of the general and fundamental nature of reality, existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language.[1][2][3] The Ancient Greek word φιλοσοφία (philosophia) was probably coined by Pythagoras[4] and literally means "love of wisdom" or "friend of wisdom".[5][6][7][8][9] Philosophy has been divided into many sub-fields. It has been divided chronologically (e.g., ancient and modern); by topic (the major topics being epistemology, logic, metaphysics, ethics, and aesthet…

A single study by itself doesn't confirm anything - it is one data point in an ocean of data points. This is the type of post that hurts RP more than helps, because it's a highly selective reading of evidence that is used to 'prove' a sweeping generalization.

Quite simply, that's not my area of expertise and I'm unfamiliar with it, so I can't give you an objective answer. My personal opinion of things like psychology is that they are a far cry from the hard sciences such as physics and chemistry, and appear to be more similar to humanistic disciplines. They are thorough and rigorous, but they appear to be fundamentally unstable. Freud is largely discredited whereas Newton is largely supported. Again, thats just my personal opinions on the matter.

http://puerarchy.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/TheFuturist_TheMisandryBubble.pdf This is directly linked in the TRP sidebar as "The Mysandry Bubble," and appears to be a thesis on how men are undervalued and women are overvalued, and that the idea that women have ever been 'oppressed' is a myth. It is literally the opposite of feminist writings. This was literally the first thing I clicked on when I searched for something to show you.

I'm not trying to discredit TRP arguments, only label them accurately. You've read something into my post that I didn't intend (which is also humanistic, btw). You're turning this into a heated argument, and I'm not interested in going there. I've laid out the thoughts behind my positions about why I believe that the style of debate in TRP (and about 99% of Reddit) is humanistic, along with my supporting evidence. You're digging into your position without regard to anything I've said, and contin…

Not at all. I asked because we're arguing over how you use evidence, but I've never seen how, so I can't reasonably disagree with you. At the same time, you've disagreed with me without sharing how you use evidence. So this argument is kinda silly.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/15 09:36 PM

Science is testing whether or not a prediction is true. Humanities is taking a position and searching for evidence to support it. Humanist arguments also involve prediction. There's a pervasive attitude that any logical argument is automatically scientific, and that's not true. There are other, well defined systems of thought, and they are not science. The way that RP perspectives are applied are not scientific, they are humanistic.

Good to know, thanks. I left because I got busy, but it seems like things changed quite a bit. I do recall the downvotes frenzy of BP'ers in PPD though, and it made it pointless to come back. I only posted this because I thought it was interesting, but it clearly addresses an older version of the philosophy. But this place will get boring quickly if RP has successfully created ireefutable circular logic. I'll stick around and see what comes of it. Either way, thanks for the explanation!

How about you explain exactly what you do, and then let's debate what that is.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/15 09:13 PM

That's not true at all. There are many disciplines rooted in logic that aren't science. Just because it's logical and predictable doesn't automatically make it scientific.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/15 08:53 PM
5

Actually, they are scrutinized as hard as the sciences, just in a different way. The humanities in general are a collection of disciplines that began long before modern science, and the essential questions have been debated for centuries. These are highly logical, disciplined discussions that produce volumes of academic material - they're just not science.

Yeah, it took me a long time to notice that irony, and hence my post. I guess they've changed their philosophical underpinnings now, so I'm a bit out of date. Oh well.

It seems that RP has changed its tune recently, and it's my bad that I didn't notice. However, my post is based on how TRP defined itself in 2014. At this time last year, RP and PPD were consumed by arguments over the scientific underpinnings that 'proved' TRP views were universal fact. Behavioral evolution theory was a major source of citations for RP'ers who adamantly defended the notion that women are scientifically proven to be inferior to men. Basically, it was a giant shit show, and RP loo…

I was partially being sarcastic. My entire point is that TRP isn't scientific, so we're really saying the same thing from two different perspectives. My original post was informed by a lot of the arguments about the 'scientific' basis of TRP that occured several months ago. Maybe RP has moved away from that model, which is a smart move.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/15 07:35 PM

I remember that. A lot of my arguments were how scientific studies were being misused as evidence, especially when they ignored all the studies that contradicted whatever they were trying to prove. Those conversations informed a lot of my thoughts in this post.

Red pill never claimed to use science. We straight forwardly call ourselves a philosophy. I've got no clue where BP got the science strawman from. It's probably from the same invisible world where they got the self improvement thing too. It looks like Red Pill 101 has been rewritten since the last time I read it. Scientific justifications for RP theory and self improvement through physical appearance were the basis of RP at one point.

Frank is in sales, so he does nothing but take shit from clients. In fact, that's his main job - to put out fires. When something goes wrong it's the sales guy who gets on the next flight and flies to the clients' office to protect the account - not the guy who actually fucked things up. So in this analogy, Frank is everyone's bitch, and he gets money as a reward. Maybe that's adequate compensation in his opinion. Thanks, but I consider our relationship to be independent of the red/blue dynamic. We're happy because we don't listen to outside opinions on how relationships should be.

Stating this is always difficult, because I've noticed that any successful relationship gets put in the "You're using RP without realizing it category." Which simply isn't true. But the biggest difference is mutual consent and right to free will. We openly discuss issues and problems, and at no point do I need to win for the sake of winning. In fact, both of us have given up anger, even when justified, because our relationship is more important than who is right at that particular moment. We tel…

TRP perspective seems to come from people who are jilted. So the "facts" are based on a narrow experience. Convincing RPers of this is nearly impossible, IME. My objections are both moral and practical. Morally, I think certain tactics are disgusting, and purposefully prey on women who aren't equipped to deal with it, especially young women. In many cases, it's weaponized pickup-artist tactics unleashed on teenage kids. That's not OK. Practically speaking, I don't think RP tactics lead to the de…

Without knowing more, I'd say there's a glaring problem with Jim and he can't admit it to himself. Especially if he thinks anyone else who is successful is just lazy and receiving hand outs. Edit: in this analogy, Jim could be mentally disabled and placed in the company as a custodian - the only job he can perform. Frank might be a salesman who spends his days on the phone and eating out with clients. Yeah, he looks Hella lazy to Jim, but Frank is bringing in new business every year. No matter h…
