Of course man, agreed. /u/hunterpua put in a lot of time, effort and especially his experience into this post. Didn’t really intend for my comment to come across in any negative fashion.

Thank you. I’ll try that. I wasn’t aware of that subreddit until now.

The world doesn't owe you anything. Nobody knows what you've been doing from the past few months, whether it's just sitting on a couch or improving yourself. Perhaps there is something else you need to focus on, pick up hobbies, more hobbies. Don't stop yourself from enjoying little things in life, or even going out regularly. Monk mode is good and all but it changes a lot of people's perception that now all of a sudden they'll be someone else, doesn't work that way. I can see you took your time…

Water. Water. And more water. Follow any other skin care routine you want but water is the key. It'll make a HUGE difference.

Second the hungry feeling question. Mine usually is easy to control for the first week, but 2nd and 3rd weeks are so tough. I've never made it past week 3 in terms of handling these late night cravings. I end up punishing myself the next day, by either eating less or just being in a shitty mood.

Whatever you do, please don't go from 0 to 60 all in one day. Take your time, do it slow, baby steps.

My wife is a 6 or 7 and most of the girls range around the same number as well. I get some more eye contact from hotter girls compared to her, but she gets the one that are more DTF.

Thank you, I agree, I have to work on the internal game. Let's see how the journey goes.

I can't explain or find the right word for it, but the pace of his words, thats just fuckin' awesome! Its the perfect pace (or tempo?); whatever the word is. Time to do some research on vocal/voice tips now.

Hey guys, it's been a crazy busy day but you guys made it so much better. I just got caught up on all the comments; thank you. I need to hit the bed for an early morning flight tomorrow; gonna try to reply to comments once I'm at the airport.

Thanks. I'm not sure about the validation part though; this is more of a rant, however, I am enjoying the feedback I've received, very useful.

Thanks man. Better late than never I guess. On the bright side, I'm glad this happened and I realized it before it got worse. This was a gentle reminder on how easy it is to lose track of what you really want to do.

I agree. I'm an IT architect by profession and have more shit than I can handle on any given day, however, I was going out of my way to response to her messages as early as I could. Heck, I even scheduled my coffee breaks around the time she woke up or had spare time to talk (I do the typical 9-5 scene; she works afternoon shift at a hospital). Looking back, I can see all the places where I went wrong. Unfortunately, I didn't see them when I was doing them.

Correct as /u/Jaghiro mentioned below. She didn't contribute anything towards the downpayment or the monthly upkeep. However, legally, my house being now considered a matrimonial home, she was entitled to half. Normally couples have to sell the house to be able to pay half (or a huge chunk of money), but I'm fortunate enough to have a decent job and some personal savings that helped me pay her share of the house without having to sell the house.

I couldn't agree with you more. She came over to my house in March to pick up her stuff with another friend. I had moved all her stuff to the garage, and I put up a GoPro with the entire view. The last thing I wanted was her trying to engage me in an argument and then calling cops or making up a silly excuse. When she entered, she wanted me to stay in the garage while her and her friend picked up her stuff. I told her that I don't have to stay there (I knew she was going to engage me in some typ…

yeah, pretty much. I couldn't even form a sentence for the next few minutes when I read what she messaged. What? How? But what does she mean? Forgive me...hmmm, but what the fuck did I do wrong?

I've heard the same as well, I'll make it come true. So far, my career is doing really well, I just need to spend time on relationships and hobbies now.

Actually I ended up buying some cake from Costco tonight. On the flip side, I was really craving some Chinese food tonight so chose that instead of steak. Not to worry, Valentine day is almost here, I'll get some steak then. :) And thank you for the birthday wishes.

I love your advice; I just hope I can actually become that strong to just say "NO" or remind others that I've helped them in the past.

This is what I need to change about myself. I have a tendency to help people without them asking me; perhaps, I expect others to do the same for me, so I never ask. It'll change now.

I couldn't do justice to your comment by writing a long reply; the best I can do is say that I agree with what you said. Subconsciously I do want someone to share my misery with and that is exactly what I'm trying to get rid of. Thank you.

I agree, too bad I didn't read it before...some of the chapters speak directly to me...Mr. Glover was definitely reading my mind.

Thanks. I've read NMMNG twice now; planning to do it again a 3rd time in the next few days, maybe focus a bit hard on some of the exercises this time. Manipulated Man is next on the list after that.

Yes, exercises are the ones where I had to put the book down and really see where I was heading. A lot of exercises involve sharing my feelings/goals with some of my close friends...too bad, I don't have any. I'm just relying on my family for now for some of these exercises.

Done and done and it was one of the best books I've read in the past few months. I started reading it when someone recommended it to me on this subreddit. I'll probably read it again in the next coming days. Thank you.

dont pick 10 different things you want to improve in your life at one time This was my first mistake but have slowly gotten better at it; these days its just working out, eating healthy and meditating in the morning that I'm trying to improve. My another challenge is finding the right male friends. My old college buddies fit into a really weird category where if I setup a venue/time for drinks, they'll show up, or else I'll never hear from them. Thank you for your reply!

I agree with you 100% but knowing myself, I know this is going to take quite a bit of time, I spent my entire life doing shit for others...time to change that.

Thank you for your reply. there are plenty of books on how to be single again. Can you recommend any?

I bet at work a simililar pattern exists. It does but its not so bad because of my seniority level. I recently changed teams at work and the new team seems a lot nicer and less needy. Then again, I think I need to keep a strong front before they get in the habit of expecting stuff from me all the time, like my old team. at 270 - you wont be picking up quality women Another excellent point and this is my biggest fear. I think its better to just continue working out throughout the winter and wait …

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I needed to hear the first 2 paragraphs, of course it doesn't feel amazing but its the truth and thats I want. I'm continuously working out (doing the 5X5 program); I slowly need to get in the "no" mindset.

The divorce isn't final, I'm in Canada, it'll take at least 8 more months for it to be final. She's seeking almost $100k in settlement etc, but on the bright side, I have a really good lawyer, so I'm not too worried about that part. I've gotten a little better at dealing with pain in the past few months but still have a long way to go.

Thanks man; I'm doing the 5X5 program these days and its working good so far, I bought all the equipment for my home gym (olympic bar, weights, rack, bench etc). Thank you for your words, I needed to hear that. I can't wait to shrug off this nasty bullshit and start enjoying my life)

Thanks man. I'm planning a trip to Amsterdam/Paris in about 3 months time. I've been considering therapy as well, but am just not ready for it. I'm really hoping this whole workout/weight loss thing works out, and I get enough courage to talk to at least 1 girl at a bar...slowly make my way upwards.
