People here are shocked at all the rules that kids have to deal with now. Well, it's not the school's fault, it's parents that will sue the school when anything happens to their kid. When I grew up if you broke your arm playing rough at school, it was your fault. Now parents blame the school and want them to pay for damages, hospital bills, legal fees, etc. Schools can't afford to get entangled in any (more) law suits and so the rules are there to cover their asses. The reason that they deny it is that only those who are really sure of their decision will push for it. If you push for it, you'll get it done (even if that means going to a diff doctor). This is just a way of weeding out those who aren't totally sure.

I've looked into it a little bit. From what I've read it can be slightly pricey depending, but for what you and I make salary wise not a huge deal - somewhere in the hundreds of dollars per year to store sperm at a reputable sperm bank. I find it hypocritical that we here are so opposed to viewpoints counter to our own, yet we want others to listen to our viewpoint (advocating mens rights) which might be counter to theirs? But yeah, I guess you're right that it does happen all over Reddit. That doesn't really make it okay here, it's just a sad fact of how the site runs. You have to agree though that this causes other subreddits to adopt a hivemind mentality (eg atheism). I don't want that to be the case here.

My sole point is that views which contradict the majority are hidden via downvotes resulting in a seemingly homogenous viewpoint. That isn't healthy for a community. I don't agree with forced circumcision either, I just don't like that people hide (downvote) dissenting opinions.
