Wow I just had an ah ha moment. The man who would go on to abuse me did just that. I told him how much I hate spiders and he kept talking about it while I was visibly and audibly cringing, even telling him to stop. Why the fuck didn’t I realize it then? He went on for a good two minutes while I was too passive and polite to stop him. There were many other red flags 🤦‍♀️

And the “Wow, what a prude for not letting me put my penis in your butt. Every other girl does it. What’s wrong with you?”

It’s the difference between “let’s eat, Grandma” and “let’s eat Grandma!”

Yeah, he was totally expecting me to be thrilled and to fuck him as a thank you for his generous gift 🙄

I dated a cop once and he asked me what my favorite color was, I told him green. The next day he comes over with the ugliest, I mean fucking hideous, lumpy forest green comforter for my bed. I had mentioned I needed a new comforter but that was something I wanted to pick out and just because green is my favorite color doesn’t mean I want my bed covered in it! That relationship didn’t last long. He meant well and was super sweet but also scary stalky. He routinely showed up to my apartment unanno…

That’s hard because you are both in completely different stages of life. 20s is college and still learning about yourself. At 29 most are settling into a career and looking to start a family. I see it being less of a problem at 30 and 39. My husband is 10 years older but I met him at 26 and I was already working in my field (and very mature for my age). But bravo to you if you can make it work.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
