Hey now, some of us women have to worry about both
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/22 09:11 PM

I would very strongly prefer to pay on a first date (regardless of the gender of the person I'm going on a date with).
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/22 08:35 PM

Exactly. I can just block someone on SM, it's way harder to change my number
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/22 06:13 PM

That's fine, I don't care about followers
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/22 06:11 PM

You make a good case for why I shouldn't date men. But also I'm single and have never been out on a date and I'm pretty sure I'm not ugly, so I feel like you could also be wrong about the idea that all men don't care about anything but looks.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/22 03:48 PM

What if she's 15? Still just his preference that you're totally fine with? What about 13? 11? 6?

I'm a virgin and I think fetishizing virginity is incredibly creepy. If you're a virgin and only want to marry a virgin your own age as some sort of religious thing, that hits different, but if you're 40 looking for a 17 yo virgin that's creepy in my view
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/22 03:13 PM

I very strongly prefer to approach over being approached and I'd prefer to exchange contact info. Phone numbers are a little weird to share, sharing socials is more reasonable.

People are probably just fine being single, relationships sound nice but they're not requirements to have happy lives. Also which generation? Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z, or Gen Alpha?

This is definitely the best comment and a good point.

I carry heavy stuff for my dad cause he has a bad back.

I'm attracted to all types of people, men, women, non-binary people, cis or trans. I was mostly just curious what positive things everyone would collectively say about dating men.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/22 11:11 PM

Okay, so men here represent the worst of men rather than a typical average?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/22 10:42 PM

Oh, I'm really bad at this. I would very strongly prefer to pay for a first date. But yeah, I wouldn't sleep with someone just because they bought dinner, I'm not some discount sex worker. I'm a virgin but I'd I did sleep with someone it would be after several months of exclusive dating and only if we both felt completely comfortable. I have less than zero desire to have a ONS (not that there is anything wrong with those who do, but I don't want that). I'm apparently terrible at it 😂

I have commented in a couple of different bisexual subs. It's also not relevant to my question and I'm pretty sure you're not a man.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/22 10:21 PM

Zero? How do you practice hypergamy?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/22 10:12 PM

Q4W: I'm bi and I'm really leaning towards the idea of just not dating men, mostly because I've been reading posts in this sub and elsewhere and I feel like there this general hatred of women that men have and I don't want to be with someone who hates me. Are there some positives to dating men? Anything anecdotal or otherwise? I'm not asking about negatives of dating women, just what positives of dating men.

I have the notifications for all of the deleted comments, you weird bigoted old man. Do you seriously have nothing better to do with your life then be an asshole to minors on the internet? Maybe like a job or some volunteer work would be good for you.

You can't gaslight someone when there's written proof 🤣 Anyone who actually checks those comment chains will see it.

The point is that is doesn't happen to men. Men have this privilege of being believed and it extends to literally just saying what you like! It would be like if we both said we like vanilla ice cream, and you got a pat on the back and I had 10 men telling me that I'm wrong, lying, too stupid to know what good ice cream is.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/22 02:35 PM
2

Ah misogynistic bullshit. Why do you even want to date someone you have no intellectual respect for? If you feel all women are liars and all women can't be trusted to have their own thoughts feelings and opinions, why in God's name would you ever want to have a relationship with someone you have no respect for? I genuinely don't get how you can simultaneously crave attention from women while hating us at people. I don't want to waste time on people who hate me or people I hate, and I certainly w…

Do onto others as you would have them do onto you. If you want to recieve oral sex you should be willing to give oral sex. Also I'm a bi woman and I would be more than happy to lovingly give oral sex to a woman. Honestly if you're not, maybe you aren't I to women? It's okay to be gay you know, there's no shame in it.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/22 01:14 PM
5

No, I had several of you all straight up tell me I was lying for what I want in a relationship. Apparently only men are allowed to tell me what I want and what I actually want doesn't matter because I'm a woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/22 01:04 PM

Oh wow, men can post their standards without dozens of comments calling them liars? That seems a vastly different experience than when women were asked this question.

Mental and emotional labor involved in keeping your shit together and being an adult. I don't want to be responsible for keeping track of a when my girlfriend or boyfriend's mother's birthday is coming up and having to make sure we buy a gift and get a card. It's the hundred of little tasks that cumulative into a significant amount of time and effort. Basically I don't want to adult for two people, have your shit together and don't act like a lazy child. I have no interest in being someone's mom…

I'm still lonely and haven't ever been on a date.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/22 04:23 AM
2

But I genuinely don't like it when someone is way taller than me. I don't like feeling short! That's why I own 3" heels! I'm 5'3 and it would take someone exceptional in other ways for me to consider dating someone over 5'11 (and even that feels on the tall side)
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/22 12:23 AM
11

This. If you're not going to listen to women, don't respect women's views, opinions, existence as intelligent and capable human beings why on earth do you want to date women?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/22 12:05 AM

Can you recommend a dating app for people under 18? A lot of the big ones seem to not allow you if you're under 18.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 11:19 PM

Hi Fives, yeah I don't like football. Is pretending to be into things I don't like the only way not to be alone?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 10:38 PM

Oh no, several of the women who have rejected me just told me that they aren't attracted to women, a couple men have said they are in relationships, one man said he isn't attracted to women, a few non-binary people have said I'm either too young, they're not single or that they aren't into women. I'm not really sure how to sus out that information. Do you usually ask someone their sexuality before asking them out?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 10:29 PM

I'm 17, don't send me nude photos I will report it.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 10:22 PM

I do, but also I'm bi. Also this subreddit said nothing about heterosexuals only.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 10:20 PM

I'm 17, usually while out shopping because that's when I see other people. I need to talk to someone a few times to feel a connection, it's just a me thing, so usually I'll talk to someone on 3-4 occasions and if it seems like wr have a food connection I'll ask them out. I'm direct in the way I speak to be confident, I make bad pun jokes mostly and I guess maybe I'm too direct then?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 10:17 PM
1

I'm not the best at talking to people or reading social cues. I don't think I'm a mean person, maybe a bit quiet though.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 10:14 PM
2

I've never been tested, I don't think so?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 09:59 PM
2

Yeah, I'm sure that's not appealing to other people but idk what to do to fix it
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 09:58 PM
2

I'd love some advice on meeting women then, if apparently it's this easy and I'm apparently socially incompetent.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 09:57 PM
2

Yes. I'm not afraid at all of approaching. I've been rejected every time.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 09:55 PM
1

Okay so, I think I'm pretty, at least maybe a little above average, and I'm not afraid to approach women, non-binary people and occasionally men who I like and find attractive but I've been rejected every time. I'm not sure what to do to be more attractive to women, or what I should do to change up my approach. I'm confident, I try to make jokes, I'm fairly direct too.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 09:55 PM

I haven't had a friend since 2nd grade so, no one in my area of the world wants to be friends with me either
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 09:48 PM

This is true for men too, if you're willing to take literally anyone

But I don't live in a city, I live in a small farming town who's greatest feature is a good ice cream place that's open half the year.

This subreddit mostly talks about men, why is there never advice for lonely women who can't get a date?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 09:38 PM

That I would appreciate, effort and consideration. If someone picked me some wild flowers and braided them into a crown, I'd be genuinely impressed and appreciative.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 07:00 PM

I'm thinking he definitely hasn't, or somehow completely missed the romance plot.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/22 06:50 PM

If I were to, routinely, make extra effort towards a partner (making lunches, writing love notes, cleaning out their car, doing some of their chores on a hard day) and they didn't do things like that for me long enough to build resentment and then bought me grocery store flowers, I'd maybe feel the gesture was inadequate. Personally, I don't like flowers, but even if I did, it's not a lot of effort to buy flowers.

I don't possess the power to read all minds, but a likely conclusion is because they are used to men who routinely under contribute to a relationship and perform singular acts and seek praise for doing so. Say a man never does his fair share of housework and one day he's inspired to do the dishes for the first time in two years. The man might think he did something special but others would say that's the bare minimum of contributing fairly in a relationship, a minimum he routinely fails to meet.…

Would you like to be objectified and sexualized by men several years older than your dad starting when you are 9?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 09:56 PM
3

I live in a small town and rarely travel, the number of times I see a man I haven't seen before in any given month is pretty slim. I'm bi but I'd say for every 10 women/non-binary persons/trans men I find attractive I'll find 1 cis man attractive. A big part of this is probably I don't find people with very short hair attractive and I don't find people who are significantly taller than me attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 09:43 PM
-2

I'm a virgin too, so it really wouldn't bother me if a guy was a virgin. Virginity is a social construct, it doesn't really matter.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 08:12 PM

Do I want to date someone who goes to strip clubs while we're together? No. Do I care that someone has gone to a strip club in the past? Also no.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 07:52 PM

I don't care if someone is a virgin, I also don't care if they've slept with a sex worker (as long as everything was consensual). Just be honest and straight forward and if someone doesn't like that about you then that isn't the person for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 07:36 PM
2

Aside from me thinking that person is way too big for me and would crush me, that's pretty nondescript.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 06:40 PM
1

Well what sort of men do you find most attractive then?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 06:19 PM
2

Well, you're absolutely allowed to like things I don't like and dislike things I like. I think men who are closer to my height are more attractive. Ideally I'd want someone exactly my same height but it would be weird to be that picky.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 06:18 PM
2

5 inches shorter to 8 inches taller. 5'11 is more of a difference than 4'8. The ultimate ideal would be someone the same height as me, but it's silly to be that particular.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 03:56 PM
1

I wouldn't phrase it that way 😅 I find men that take care of themselves, have nice hair and eyes and aren't particularly muscular to be the most attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 03:37 PM
1

I don't know what that means 😅
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 03:28 PM
1

Physical traits only: Nice hair (more than 3" long), pretty eyes, a nice smile, being fit enough to be healthy but not muscular, between 4'8-5'11, nice skin, hands without calloused skin, smelling nice. Many idols are attractive, many MMA fighters are not attractive. MMA fighting has mostly men as a fan base.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 03:10 PM

That's fine and reasonable. The world is a dangerous place that has some dangerous people, it's reasonable to be concerned someone may harm you.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 02:19 PM
13

I don't understand how I, a random stranger, could be hazardous to a strange man's health and finances. I suppose if he's afraid that I might rob him, that's a valid concern. So sure, if a man is afraid I'll pull a gun and rob him then yes. Meeting in a public place where we take separate transportation is a good solution to this.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 02:06 PM
12

Personally I prefer to pay for dates or split the bill if the other person is insistent; so that would work very well for me. Taking precautions like letting a friend or family member know where you'll be going and having a scheduled check in call to make sure you're safe is smart for women and men to do. So is asking to meet in a public place and taking separate vehicles so either person is free to depart when they wish.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 01:51 PM
18

I don't see men as enemies, I see a variety of human beings who share a singular trait. I do see men as dangerous, it would be unsafe to do otherwise. The chances of being the victim of some form of assault from a man is too high to not be cautious. Not all men, but enough men to warrant taking steps to ensure my safety and well being.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 01:12 PM

That doesn't sound appealing at all. Just like a severed and roasted mini-hot dog but 100 times grosser

95% of straight me regularly have orgasms during sex whole gay men have 89%. For the comparison.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/22 07:36 PM

65% of straight women experience orgasms regularly during sex vs 86% of lesbians.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/22 07:13 PM

If I ask someone out on a date I'm offering to pay for our food/movie tickets or whatever we do. I'm not offended if someone isn't attracted to me or interested in me. Attraction is subjective. I'm bi and I like men, women and non-binary people, but not everyone is attracted to women and even of the people who are attracted to women, nothing says they're interested in me.

As a virgin, I find the fetishization of virginity to be incredibly creepy. I don't want to ever date a man who cares how many prior partners someone has. Women who are after men's money are already criticized and have been for decades as "gold diggers". It's weird and I don't understand it, but it's very heavily criticized.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 08:29 PM

Would you hold men to the same standard? Also wanting to have sex and having sex are two different things.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 08:16 PM

It also is pushing the idea that women who want sex are bad, which isn't healthy. It's problematic from all angles.

I don't really get what you mean.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 04:47 PM

I'm not interested in casual sex, and I wouldn't sleep with anyone unless we'd been dating a while.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 04:41 PM

That would be nice. I don't have anyone I want to ask at the moment but they'll be someone else eventually. I need to have a few conversations with someone before I end up interested, I need some sort of intellectual compatability to get a crush.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 04:40 PM

Ironic your user name is based on a character who failed when it mattered most.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 03:13 PM

Give your opinion is that women don't have personalities, I'd definitely be dodging a bullet avoiding men like you. So it sounds like this is the way to go.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 03:04 PM
2

That's a fair consideration. Do you think I could achieve the same by saying something like "I prefer not to disclose that information."?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 02:54 PM
14

I'm a woman and I've been rejected by all of the people I've asked out but I wouldn't say I expect rejection. I'm certainly a bit disappointed, but it doesn't really bother me. Someone will say yes one day. I'd rather ask than be asked.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 02:52 PM
7

That's fine, I'd certainly like to date someone, but I'd rather date the right someone than waste time or tears with the wrong person.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 02:48 PM
4

Totally and completely fair. My preference is between 4'8 and 5'11, because I'm 5'3 and that range seems the most comfortable. I'd be willing to date someone a little shorter or a little taller too, but my preference is that range.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 02:43 PM
4

That's fine. I'm bi, my dating pool was already doubled, so 5% is still millions of men and women.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 02:39 PM

I'm willing to have a committed relationship with someone who doesn't care about something like that.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 02:37 PM

I think I'd stick with 200, I don't want someone who cares about that sort of thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 02:36 PM
7

I'm willing to be loyal to one person for the rest of my life, if that's not appealing to 98% of men then they're free to not date me. Everyone is looking for something different.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 02:34 PM
6

This subreddit has given me an idea for dating, if anyone ever asks my n count I'm just going to lie and say 200. It's actually 0 but with how creepily virginity is fetishized I want to filter out those kinds of people. Anyone ever try this before?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/22 02:29 PM
2

That first guy sounds like a real loser, why were you with him? I refuse to be with anyone who doesn't respect me.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/22 07:23 PM
6

Oh I'm not shy at all, but I was really unpopular in elementary school and because I live in a small town that reputation for being the weird girl in 3rd grade just stays forever till graduation. I don't really mind getting rejected, but I'm not exactly asking everyone I see. I need to know someone and have a few conversations to be interested.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/22 06:45 PM

😅 I've never been on a date before. I'd like to, but everyone I've asked out has turned me down.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/22 06:26 PM

Personally I'm not really a big party person and I like video games too. The money doesn't matter at all to me, but I'm more inclined towards someone who shares my hobbies and actually wants to spend time with me instead of a party guy who is going to be gone often. I'm a comp sci major planning to go into robotics, so I'd also just have more to talk about with someone else with programming knowledge.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/22 05:30 PM
8

I don't think it is. I've had people who say I'm very beautiful, stunning, gorgeous and I've had other people say I'm below average, ugly, and extremely ugly. The variance is far too great, objective measurement is impossible.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/22 05:07 PM

I think the idea of calling someone low value is exceptionally rude. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, attractiveness is subjective. Attractiveness doesn't determine your value as a human.

Well, I've only been alive 551,880,000 seconds, so that would be one person every 0.00055 seconds since the moment I was born. Also there are less than 8 billion people in the world. Even if I live to be 100, that's only 3,153,600,000 seconds.

999,999,999,999,998. I just want to see what would happen, since a genie is involved. I would hope they would choose a googol, I want to marry someone else who likes to see what happens when you introduce an impossible situation to a system.

Bi & Female My N count is 0, but I've also been called a slut a few times, so apparently 0 is too high for some people. In my opinion, it doesn't matter how many people a woman or man has slept with. There is no number "too high".

I'm not jaded, I've just been reading the content in this subreddit and have basically given up on dating men even though I've never actually gone out with men. If this is how men think and how they are, why would I possibly want that.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/22 09:55 PM
5

So average to slightly below average is the range you consider a woman's looks are no longer a benefit to aid her in dating?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/22 09:26 PM
2

So you're saying all the things that men say here about the only thing important for a woman is to be beautiful is wrong? Or am I ugly by your standards? Maybe you think I'm too old?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/22 09:18 PM
7

For your standards? Probably. I'm 17, so that's probably too old for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/22 08:58 PM

Many men seem to want a little girl. Sweet, innocent, obedient, shy, let's him take the lead, no wrinkles, no scars, no gray hair, no body hair. Basically a child. And they expect that child to do everything she can to stay like that as long as possible.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/22 08:20 PM

Someone who's bad at talking to people and feels lonely? I'd be okay with that. Someone who's an exact copy of me? No probably not. It would be really weird.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/22 02:57 PM

I'm bi and women don't usually say creepy things, it feels safer.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/22 01:06 PM

Good for you? I'm not a lesbian, so not sure why you'd randomly say that, but I promise they don't want anything to do with you either.

It is theoretically possible to create an embryo from two eggs. It is not theoretically possible to create an embryo from two sperm. Artificial wombs are theoretically right now, the sheer cost would be staggering as a commercially available product. Are there are lot of men out there who want to be single dads? I don't know how much of a market there is for that.

Why does height matter? I'm 5'3, I don't see why it's important.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/22 05:29 PM

Why should it matter if I haven't slept with anyone before? Why should it matter if someone else slept wth 100 people? Neither should have any bearing on our value as humans.

I'm waiting to find out what I got on my finals but I believe I did very well. I haven't lost a point on any tests or assignments in any of my classes yet. I'm hoping for a perfect score on all my finals but I had the flu while I was taking them which makes me think I may have made mistakes.

No, I just got permission to take an additional class above the additional classes I was already taking. I'm trying to complete my undergraduate program in 3 years and I don't have time for a job.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/22 12:21 PM
3

Sure. Men in their 30's and 40's started approaching me when I was 11. It significantly dropped off by the time I turned 15, but I'm not oblivious that there are many men that would want to use me for sex and then want nothing to do with me.

I'm in college, I just finished my first semester but I take all online classes because I can't commute to school and I didn't get enough scholarships for student housing. If I get perfect grades in all my classes this year I'll be able to apply for more scholarships next year and hopefully be able to cover it.

It sucks being lonely and single, living in a small town doesn't make it easy to meet people.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/22 11:38 AM

Oof, this makes me feel even worse as a woman because I'm terrible at talking to people and I can't read body language or social cues at all, I'm an awkward mess. I said maybe 15 words yesterday.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/22 11:26 AM

We can approach people, it's not that hard. Honestly I'd much rather approach, because getting rejected is much less stressful than needing to reject someone, at least for me.

I live in a rural town, there's not much here. There's a little downtown shopping area that's about an hour walk from where I live, but there's not much to do there except shop. They have a cute thift store I go to sometimes. I'm not anxious, or shy, I've actually asked out several people, I got rejected every time but honestly I was just happy with myself for making the effort. I keep hoping things will get better, even if they've sucked so far. I haven't tried bumble or meetup groups, I've bee…

Maybe you're a whole lot more attractive than I am so it works out better for you? Or people are just lying to me and telling me I'm pretty is some sort of cruel joke? I desperately wish I had just one friend in my area to do things with, life is incredibly, sometimes soul crushingly lonely. Even if I never get to date someone in my entire life, I think I could be okay with one friend.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/22 11:20 PM

I'm bi, why does that matter?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/22 11:09 PM

You're being obtuse. I am saying that I'm socially incompetent but not hideous. That's directly related to the topic.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/22 10:51 PM

I'm awkward, have no friends and I haven't had a friend since 2nd grade. Maybe people are just lying to me, but I've been told I'm pretty. Appearances only matter before anyone starts talking, maybe it's a slight advantage to be better looking but it's way more of an advantage to be able to read body language and understand social cues.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/22 10:41 PM

Maybe don't say wildly inappropriate things to women regardless of age? What's really going to change between now and 6 months when I'm 18? What changes that I'm too young to hear inappropriate things now but totally fair game for things I'm too young for in 6 more months? It's such an arbitrary line between child to be protected and adult who is fair game to treat poorly and be creepy to.

I definitely feel like a lot of men don't like women and really just want an unpaid sex toy/chef/maid. I feel like most women want a companion, friend and partner who they can enjoy things with.

Yes. I'm intelligent, hardworking and academically inclined. I graduated early with a near perfect GPA and I'm in college on scholarships. It's fine if someone thinks I'm attractive, it's not fine to treat me like I'm not a person with my own thoughts, feelings and experiences. It's not fine to dismiss my intellect and dedication because you think I'm pretty.

I feel like that will work as well as trying to use reddit to date. I'm 17 and I wouldn't date a 40 year old no matter who they were. I don't want to date someone older than my parents, that's super weird to me. I'd be willing to date 16-22 and anyone older isn't going to be able to relate with me.

I'm with you on the monogamous part, and not wanting to date someone who's 30, that's too old for me. I don't have any issues with someone having hobbies or things they like. A needle in a haystack doesn't sound like good odds.

Have you had romantic feelings for hundreds of women? I guess I take a bit to warm up to the idea of a person first, I need to talk to them and get to know them before I feel interest or not. Is that weird?

Regardless of gender, some mental illnesses are unattractive when they result in erratic behavior, violence or unreliability. Some mental illnesses don't significantly impact a relationship, others do.

If women on a whole always desired dominant men, society would look very different. Women wouldn't have fought and died for the right to be our own persons, free to seek our own employment, education and pursuits. The idea that any entire group of people should collectively seek anything is silly. Generalizations are generally incorrect.

Thanks, it wasn't a bad rejection or anything, just a polite sorry but no. I'm glad I did it, I can get that person out of my mind.

Today I asked someone out and got rejected, but I'm not that sad about it, I had a nice day overall, I got a good walk in and I got some shopping done. So far 0% of the people I've asked out have said yes but I'm hopeful I'll eventually find someone right for me.

I'm not dominant by any stretch but I definitely don't want some controlling jerk who demands I submit to him. Hard pass. Zero interest. I want someone who will be nice to me and will treat me with respect as an intellectual and social equal.

Or after 5 months of working with someone who acts like a frat bro, everyone got tired of dealing with your attitude. My dad is an out of shape middle aged guy with glasses and everyone at his work treats him nicely and professionally respects him because he's respectful and nice to others. The woman at the front desk is 63 and looks like she's 80 and she's a sweet old grandma that everyone smiles and says good morning to, the delivery people make jokes with her and she's well liked. It's more acceptable than in the past for women to not date or for women to be with other women. So men really do have a high standard to reach: Better than nothing and on par with a woman. Honestly, I'm 17, I've never been on a date, but everything I've read in this subreddit and elsewhere from men online is making it seem like dating a man might be the worst possible decision I could make with my life. It sucks because I'm incredibly lonely and I'd really like to date someone, but it sounds li…

If you see someone you like why don't you go walk up and talk to that person, why are you just waiting for someone to come up to you? I know a few family members of mine who met their partners though OLD, so I don't think it's a bad thing, but I do think some people get addicted to it.

The specific people in those videos are content creators who are financially dependent on creating content to match with the branding they have created for themselves. You seem to hate/look down on women, or just me for some reason, and you don't participate in discussions with intellectual honesty or integrity. I'm not interested in continuing this discussion.

That the whole alpha/beta nonsense is absurd and immature. That men who think about life in that way aren't emotionally healthy and probably aren't mentally in a place to have a healthy, supportive and equal relationship built on mutual trust, admiration and respect for each other.

It's absolute nonsense. The whole alpha/beta thing is nonsense too. I want to date someone who's nice to me and gets along with me. I'm in college planning to go into a field where I'll make really good money, and I'm fine with the idea of dating someone who would rather stay home and take care of our house that work full time.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/22 11:18 PM

Absolutely not, that sounds horrible. I'd much rather be the one making a billion dollars, if I end up with someone and they'd like to be home and not be employed that's fine by me. I'm studying to get into robotics, I want to work on the cutting edge technology that will define the next century, not live in a gilded cage waiting for death to free me.

What do you call a population unable to own property, denied access to education, employment, the right to their own bodies, the right to refuse those that legally own them? Slaves.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/12/22 05:26 AM
11

Women were basically slaves for the majority of human history. An enslaved population that is denied opportunities for education, employment and improvement isn't going to be as able to create and invent as those that benefit from their enslavement. On an even playing field, we're all just humans.

I don't have friends but this applies to me. I've never been on a date, never been kissed, never held hands with a crush. Jocks aren't at all my type, not even a little, so I don't know what you're on about. There isn't anyone that is universally attractive, everyone has different taste. Some men might think I'm pretty, lots of men don't think I'm pretty, it's a fruitless endeavor to try to be attractive to everyone.

How do you know what league you are in? Are there tryouts? Did I miss them? Darn. Have I had crushes on people who go on to date other people? Of course. I'm an awkward mess, I've never been on a date and there are people who are great at talking to people, confident, interesting and funny. It sucks but not everyone agrees on what attractive is, what you like might not be anything like what I like.

For myself, I'm bi and open to dating women and non-binary people too. So for me, in theory men are also being matched up against women and non-binary people in terms of my interest. Society was a lot less accepting just 25 years ago. Not that I've ever actually been on a date with anyone, but that's besides the point.

It's only been about 140 years that women could even own property, and while in most places we've technically been able to refuse marriage, the social pressure and threats of violence for refusal still exist today in some countries. I don't really know an exact answer but I'd guess about the 1960s for most Americans. It's true that there was some degree of control going back to the 1920s, but really only for wealthy women with financial backing.
