The whole thing about “authenticity” is tough and hard to draw a line. What about hair? The basis of your argument could be applied to cutting hair or even styling it a bit. Same with exercising and going to the gym. The world is a better place when everyone is trying to present the best version of themselves. The problems start once they stop trying

It’s funny how he deliberately chose to take the gay question the wrong way to find an out. He knew he had nothing for you so he decided to cope with a “moral victory”. This exactly. The wording of her post just feels wrong but objectively there’s nothing wrong with it. Everyone has a past but she said it in a way where everything benefits the woman only and that just sounds off putting

But now she has options so she doesn’t have to be interested in the guy. Similarly for the other way around. You didn’t want the guy before, that’s fine. But now he’s a man with resources and the options that come with them so why should he feel okay with being with someone who didn’t care for him before? He knows what he’s worth now

That response is right. She’s not gonna magically go on a date with you without you asking her out. The outcome of you not doing something is the same as the outcome of her rejecting you, which is she doesn’t go out with you
