The people in those towns dis not have any other jobs they could take, and cpuld not start their own business as they were manipulated into eternal debt. No governance on business results in child labor, unending indentured servititude, and the general exploitation/abuse of the people. Mining towns in the US where the mining company literally owned all of the land (and would not sell it). They would rent it out for their own form of money which meant you had to work for them to have a roof to sleep under. The major corp that now owns 50% of the market can exert force from his resources which are now double his competitors. Without regulation he can now charge employees of the other companies insane prices for the resources only it can provide, it can buy the roads that the other companies need for their logistics, etc, etc. Without any regulation, the result is inevitable. AnCap is the default position until something else replaces it. The very first governments were literally just the richest guys owning everything in an AnCap society. Once they own enough, they get to make the laws. Not because they are the government, but because you need to live somewhere(they own all the land), you want to grow food(they own all the fields and animals), you want to drink water(they own that too).
