I very much agree. This always helps me, no matter who I am talking to or my intentions behind the interaction.

I can't be much help for the main portion of your question. But as for the meaning of a girl only replying at night--That is likely her only free time. I for one am too distracted throughout the day to hold any sort of worthwhile conversation, so I do most of my texting at night. If you're communicating over the internet, it could also be that she, such as myself, lacks a smart phone and can only access internet at home (and usually people are at home in the evenings). but that is just speculati…

I'm curious--In addition to improving quick-thinking in conversation, are you also working on your BSing skills, or are you going strictly off of things you already know?

You could always try giving it a shot and then decide if you're still not having fun.

A very important thing is to be sure not to make her feel badly for taking longer to open up. As a chick who takes a very long time to be comfortable with new people, I always worry that, when it comes to guys, they will get bored quickly and decide to move on to someone else. Which has often happened (but at least that just goes to show we weren't right anyway =P ). How to help her open, though? Like others have said, just be as confident as you can and be lively, warm, welcoming and she will s…

As someone with some experience in voice training and singing, I completely agree with FeministsLoveMe. I just wanted to add that you should make sure you are very well hydrated. The vocal cords work at they're very best when they are well lubbricated. If you want to go the extra mile, avoid dairy all day before going out, if not the day before as well, as dairy will increase the amount of phlem in your throat and affect your vocal cords.

Ask questions! You may hear this a lot--I know I do--but people love to talk about themselves and so asking them questions make them feel like you're truly interested in what they have to say (and hopefully you are) and it lets them do most of the talking. And then eventually they're bound to start telling you about something you could converse about for days on end (metaphorically speaking) and the conversation will begin to flow with much more ease. If that topic runs dry, ask another question…
