Yeah, that made it more clear. I've done it several times this day, I'm not sure I 'get it', but I don't think that there is anything to 'get'. Anyway, I can already see how this could help. I remember a lot of details about a vase I saw at an ice-cream place. Thanks for the post, and for clarifying it for me op!

Hey op, not disagreeing with anything you said, but could you expand a bit on some things? Being unable to communicate with physical objects, like a chair and a lamp, makes you unable to communicate with human beings in an extroverted fashion. I really did not understand where you were going with that. Could you maybe explain it? Also, I get that this drill is supposed to help one break down his mental barriers, but how am I supposed to apply in social situations? What are the logistics here? Do…

hahaha, you joke but honestly, this is kinda where the name came from. I tried several usernames that sent the message "yo, if I'm talking out of my ass, don't let me get away with it." and this was the best I could do.

Ok, you got me with the %. Some will blacklist you, but honestly, it's pretty hard for everyone.

5'6 here, and you're right. Does height help? Sure, it absolutely fucking does, so does money, style, being white, etc. No amount of bitching will change that. However, 90% of it is game, and honestly, if you're unsuccessful, it's your fault.

Emotion will always and forever be apart of rational choice making as it is the primary driver of preferences. Yeah, that makes perfect sense. You and Nietzsche are probably in the right here. I still think that stoicism is a rather useful tool, but I see your point.

I disagree. I do not think that a stoic lives in fear. The most notable stoics we had were Marcus Aurelius and Seneca, and they don't strike me as the kind of people who live in constant fear. As a matter of fact, I think that stoics let go of their emotions because emotions cloud their vision. Now, it is fair to say that they are not masters of their emotions, because they've abandoned them, but fear is also an emotion that has been abandoned. Think of the spartan warriors (IMO the most stoic s…

Those are great choices for powerful speeches. I also really like "This is Water" by David Foster Wallace and Admiral William H. McRaven's commencement speech those are both commencement speeches, so, they don't sound as 'big' as propaganda but nevertheless, they're great.

Maybe in US, but that's not the case here in south Brazil.

Exactly this. The real reason people go nuts when I get into detail about my diet, is because I'm doing 20:4 (or 18:6 depending on the day). I didn't mention in the original post because I think that even a lot of TRP people might not be aware of this and I didn't wanna explain. If you even mention something that does not involve eating from 3 to 3 hours... Hell, even low carb high fat will make people go apeshit on you about "cholesterol" and "you need carbs because... Energy". Sorry, rant over…

Well, thanks for calling me out. I kinda picked up from other comments that I was being a defensive pussy, you just put it bluntly. I'll try and and just go with either "thanks for the tip" or making a joke out of it, see how that works out.

Ah, I can see me being a little defensive. Thanks for the replies, I'll try and work on that.

This might be a really good one. They'll stop and realise how idiotic it was to give me advice. Or better yet, they'll feel good about giving me "new information" and will move past this whole fitness thing.

Yeah, I understand why people do it. And I do try and not talk about it, but the problem is that they take the conversation there. They tease me and whatnot. Should I shrug it off completely? Should I stand my ground and firmly say "look, I do not need, nor want your input in regards to my fitness. Stop it"? I do like these people, I just want get them to stop with this bullshit. It even feels like they want to see me as an asshole, which I'm not. I'm sure there there's some psychology going on …

This sounds solid. It's not defensive, it implies that I know what I'm doing, and will probably get them to stop.

I'll give up porn, sitting down (when I could be standing up) and video games. I'll pick up reading books. at least 20 pages a day.

Totally agree. Ultimately it comes down to knowing yourself. You gotta use your strengths and play around your weaknesses to force yourself to work hard. Also, a quick way to not get stuck in planning forever, is to reserve a time to do it. I do it sundays 21:00 to 22:00 and that's it.

Not really the right sub, but I'll just assume you don't know better. For this kind of stuff you wanna go to R / asktrp

To add to your post, a good tip in general is to plan what you're gonna do, and write it out in a calendar like fashion. The way you do it doesn't really matter, it could be through an app, I like physical paper though. And any method that involves calendars and errands will do it. That helps you not to procrastinate, because there's always something you planned to do during that time.
