I also think that is true.

I would say that generally speaking, in this day and age, 'traditional' has a negative connotation alone. I think that this is partially because enduring behaviour and values, generationally speaking, are seen as either reinforced by either tradition or by justification. In reality, both are tradition. But for those traditions we like, we tend to claim the more 'honorable' cause for why we still partake in them - that we have tested their worth and still find them useful. Even many conservatives…

Neither women, nor men, live in a bubble. Take away the negative references, and that's all it's suggesting. Men and women both consider men and women's behaviors when doing most things. That's called interacting in a society. What he is doing here is highlighting how negative elements of some men's behaviors impact women. But that's not the full story. It would be equally disingenuous to paint women in a bad light by just throwing down reminders of things men do to protect themselves from manip…

Yeah, ageism is one of those weird buzzwords where... the age of someone matters. Not in relation to everything, but, the idea that the difference between races and ages is comparable is laughable. It follows the same pattern. Without getting into 'creepy' factors... a woman in her prime is not going to be enthralled by a man who is not in his prime, at least not without some major compensating factors. I don't care to make statements about the 'ego' thing though, cause that kind of just sounds …

I mean, even at a common-sense level, this is true. This is true with both men and women, and has not just to do with the individual who is catcalling (or lets say, making unexpected advances) but the individual receiving them as well. Attractive women are going to be less likely to receive these advances positively. They are not novel, and are not particularly flattering because they are more disruptive than uplifting. For women who get comments on their appearance frequently, they rely less on…

People lie and gaslight all the time. All the more when your entire worldview is constrained to a narrow lens that you use to interpret everything around you - which is a box feminism falls into easily.

Even if it was true, half the population is not such a monolith that the suffering they cause to their own 'group' is par for the course. You could extend this argument to anything else in the world and it wouldn't be as absurd of a claim, because you're talking about half the population. Are they american? Do they like Trump? America voted for him, right? So if you're American you're responsible for that, regardless of how you voted, because you're part of that collective. Apply that logic to n…

I don't know about others here, but I don't think that you should 'pick a side' based on how people make you feel, specifically as a gay man. Though I'm sorry to hear that's your experience. I think that you should be an advocate for men and women's rights equally, and avoid falling into ideological camps. Men do tend to be less comfortable with homosexuality than women do. It could be due to women perceiving gay men as 'less risky' to be around than straight men, which affords a certain comfort…

Why are comments criticizing this 'valued member' being deleted without breaking a rule, when he very clearly breaks a rule by generalizing all women's actions?

Is that really your worldview? Women don't 'fall' in love with average men, they simply always make a calculus choice over time spent together? I read, addressed your points, and you did nothing in return. Relax, let go of your ego a bit, and think from another angle. Don't romanticize toxic attraction. I work with Federal offenders, and I see it all the time. Seemingly good girls get with criminal men. You're preaching to the choir. But these are not good girls. These are batshit crazy or simpl…

You've got a wild perspective here. I'm arguing in good faith, though, going to be stepping trepidatiously in fear you might report me 😱👀 Women fall for the average man all the time. Low and behold, they are the average. Though, you might be distraught to discover, these women also tend to be average. If you're looking to be the object of a fetish though, yes, you won't achieve that by being average. That is, in and of itself, written into the very basis of fetishes. Something ceases to be a fet…

Sorry man, but you need to recheck yourself if you think "girls are never crazy enough to fall for an average softie". That sounds like delusional levels of self-pitying...

Try to focus on a Strength-Based practice and just work on yourself. Stay away from these online echo chambers, social media, and propaganda sites as much as possible. People are much more multi-faceted in real life than they are online. Particularly if you have obsessive tendencies, it is easy for such messages and opinions to spiral out of control and seem daunting and overwhelming. See yourself as more of an individual and less of 'a particular category of identity', whether that is race, gen…

I think a few things, honestly. I'm conservative bent, but include a fair bit of libertarianism in my philosophy. I believe in the value of many conservative norms, but also in the value of those who break the mold. There are always outliers and that's not such a bad thing. I actively try to always think before I speak and to imbue my opinions with nuance, which is sorely lacking these days. You've heard my nuanced perspective before you've heard my 'Yes' or 'No' responses to complicated politic…

Ahhh, depends what you mean by alliance. Do we have to clasp hands and stand side-by-side in unity for identical causes? No. I consider it as more of a statement that "people who may differ on specific conclusions or ideals can still be part of the bullwark against pure insanity from the ideological opposite on that issue." See, from my perspective, the inability of modern gender theorists to accept reasonable standard differences between men and women are damaging to both men and women alike. G…

There's also the point that there is an inconsistency for addressing mental illness. If someone does not agree with the fundamental assertions of transgenderism (not that it doesn't exist, but that you can change sex/be born in wrong body) they may call the contrary belief a mental illness. Trans activists who would otherwise call for the destigmatization of mental illness (rightly so) get angry at the claim they have a mental illness. Regardless of who is 'right', if a parent thinks their child…

As a conservative-bent guy here; I don't quite agree with this for a few reasons. I think that it's quite common for conservative voices that are skeptical of the whole trans-movement to argue for the well-being of men. IE.; "guys are chopping their dicks off because they have gender dysphoria". Conservatives get enough shit for being supposedly anti-woman, so from a 'PR' standpoint, pointing out the hypocrisy for feminists to support actions that are potentially threatening to women is a reason…

It shouldn't have to be said, but obviously, this is far from being a universal truth. There is some generalized truth here, given that statistically women are more agreeable and men are more aggressive. That comes with just as many stereotypes against men that we all like to avoid, even if there is a nugget of truth to them. This needs to be said with nuance.

Various communities, political dispositions, and personality frameworks all have tendencies towards particular flaws and particular insights. I speak as a very conservative (though increasingly more libertarian) individual. I joined this group because I am aware of many ongoing men's issues and I noticed an influx of high-quality posts, with links and resources, from this sub. This problem OP speaks of is very clear and present, but I would argue, that the right has a fundamental flaw of also cu…

I mean... why is this a problem, actually? I'm a Christian guy and I only date Christians. I'm not weaponizing anything. I'm looking for a compatible partner with similar beliefs. I've dated feminist girls who I disagreed with, but operate more under the "I'm not a crazy feminist, I just think that feminism means good things like....." banner. We disagree on definitions, but not actually on values. Meh. If someone is a bra-burning feminist, don't you want to stay away? Besides the distaste for p…

It comes from a lack of nuance in your worldview. It's easier to characterize shitty things happening or being normalized in history and society as part of a single-focus perspective. All you need is one answer. 'The Patriarchy' is such a popular train of thought that it has become an accepted premise rather than a conclusion to be justified or debated.

I think it's worthwhile to understand the utility that this line of thinking played in the context it was adapted. For the same reason that we ought to understand that some of the infantilism and preference for safety over rights for women through history came from a completely different context, and not simply an anti-female sentiment that men held as if it was a natural phenomena. Context has changed drastically. Gender roles are less relevant the more that we are able to change our living env…

You're thinking in terms of today's living standards, technology and insight. The original point was that this line of thinking evolved in time periods where human societies were small, tribalistic, and territorial. It might not mean the death of the human race, but it could mean the death of 'your people'.

I mean, the point stands. The numbers are reduced to their smallest ratio for purposes of simplicity, but this is still true with the same ratio at large population sizes. The growth of a population is limited primarily by the number of women, secondarily by the number of men.
