I've heard men whine quite a few times, but it typically isn't newsworthy. It just doesn't get the same focus. Bad or good, your call. It's a double edged sword. The media loves the drama because it gets them attention and ad revenue. I love talented women in the spotlight, but I wish the media would focus on their abilities, fairly, and stop with the click bait reality show bullshit. It's demeaning to women, frustrating for men, and only serves to drive us further apart.

Hello! Out on a limb, obviously, but feminist speaking. I don't disagree with her punishment/fine/losing the match/etc. She should be treated no differently than anyone else, male, female, black, white, etc., when it comes to the technical parts of the game. My issue lies in the coverage of the issue. The media was quick to portray her as "hysterical woman loses game and throws a fit", where male players get more slack regarding argessive behavior. In football, yelling at refs is not newsworthy.…

Yes, I am. And people like me. If you get to claim you're a true MRA and are not represented by the nasty pro-rape anti-woman crew, then I get to say I'm a feminist and my views are not represented by those you quoted above. Should everyone abandon their causes because some of the members suck? Should Christians abandon their churches because of hateful extremists, when the doctrine they are supposed to follow is inclusive and kind, or should they continue to encourage the less vocal majority to…

He made himself out to be an MRA. “I’m disappointed that this sort of attack has replaced real news, but it strengthens my position and resolve that fighting for equal rights is more important today than ever,” Fisher said in a statement released Tuesday night. “Here’s my message to the public: I am not disappearing. I will continue to stand strong for men’s rights and the rights of all.” https://www.google.com/amp/boston.cbslocal.com/2017/04/27/republican-robert-fisher-new-hampshire-representat…

"MRA" and redpiller, New Hampshire state Rep Robert Fischer: " “Rape isn’t an absolute bad, because the rapist I think probably likes it a lot. I think he’d say it’s quite good, really.” Plenty of noxious "MRA" activists in power, they just aren't typically as outspoken. I'm not saying I agree with the crazy feminists out there, I'm just saying it's unfair of you to judge feminists as a whole, but demand that MRAs be treated as invididuals who have the right to distance themselves from the crazi…

You do realize that there are plenty of "MRA" groups that do hold views like this, right? Rape is a man's right, women are inherently less intelligent and shouldn't have the right to vote, etc. If you think it's unfair to view all MRAs through a redpill filter, maybe it's also unfair to judge feminists by the most noxious of their members?

That's exactly the experience I want for both my sons, and my daughters. You sound like you'll be one hell of a scout leader once you get there. Thank you for keeping the traditional alive. Take care, darling.

Absolutely, and I'm delighted that we have common ground of this issue. I remember tagging along with my brother's troop as a kid to sell Christmas trees. (My dad was the leader). It was magical. And to be fair, the popcorn was tasty! Cookies always seemed more forced and cutthroat, it really wasn't fun at all. It could have just been the adult personalities involed, but it seems to be a consensus at this point. The girl scouts suck, and girls should be able to go get muddy in the woods too. I t…

I don't disagree with you. Part of this is due to how incredibly poorly the girl scouts are run. I was a girl scout until high school, and we did cool shit like rock climbing, sailing, hiking, camping, etc. Some of my most precious memories are from late nights around the fire with my gs troop. However, then goddamn cookie time would roll around and it was mandatory for a troop to sell a certain amount. Awkward as shit to sell cookies door to door as a 15 year old girl. "Aren't you a little old f…

This is sad. Unfortunately, at this point, mens rights has a pretty rotten reputation. Until I started following this subreddit, I had the same gereral impression as most people I know- that mens rights were less about real issues facing men disproportionately, and more redpillish, 'get women out of the voting both and back to sucking my cock like they belong, rape is a man's right, etc'. I've disagreed with many things I've seen here, but I've also come to realize that you gentlemen do have som…

Here- there's a hot line you can call to find local resources for male dv victims and some links to additional resources for men. I'm at work so I can't do more research, but it's worth calling to at least validate your feelings and discuss your options. You're not any less of a victim because you're a man. Your situation is real. Best of luck <3 http://www.thehotline.org/2014/07/22/men-can-be-victims-of-abuse-too/

I wouldn't say "most" women are okay with this kind of behaviour. Assholes come in every gender, color and creed. You are in an abusive relationship, end of story. I'm sorry for what you're going through, and I'm sorry you don't feel as though you're situation would be taken seriously due to your gender. You can't stay just because you're 'emotionally attached'. Of course you are, but the person you're attached to is not the same person as exists in real life. I've been in an abusive relationshi…

Very cool. I really like the way you reworded that paragraph. Not only does it include men and women, but it includes everyone who doesn't identify as either a man or a woman. Also love the idea of including some information on social stigmas. Some women have trouble orgasming, and there is a subtle subtext that women who don't have any trouble are slutty, like you said. Heterosexual men should absolutely explore anal if they'd like! Seriously, who the hell cares? I'm all about open discussion, …

Well, if 90% of men want their partner to orgasm, but only 64% of women do, what happened to that other 26% of women who do not? I've never met a man who has never experienced an orgasm, but I've met plenty of women who have never gotten there. Is the issue women not speaking up? After all, there is that perception that women who ask for what they want sexually are slutty. Women should be 'innocent'. And men should just automatically know how to make it happen! After all, if he loved her, he cou…

First of all, I do think your comment was entirely fair. You're right, even if they intended to make their promotion completely equal, there is certainly a bias towards women. It could simply be because they've had more feedback from women regarding troubles reaching orgasm, so that was where they directed their marketing. I honestly have no idea how often that effects men, outside of performance anxiety or, em, "whiskey-dick". I've met plenty of women who have never had an orgasm. That being sa…

Is this because they cater to women, or because women more frequently experience trouble reaching orgasm? Not that it isn't an issue men experience as well, but it's my understanding that it's easier for most men to reach orgasm through basic penatrative sex with no bells and whistles than it is for women.

You really need a more creative partner. Vibrators don't do much for men? Yikes. I'm legitimately sorry for you.

This is a thread from a few days ago, asking if women feel that male and female teachers who sleep with their students should be punished equally. Consensus was a strong yes. With little to no man bashing. Question to women. https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoXChromosomes/comments/5uxbjg/question_to_women/

Sure, we understand that. Unfortunately, rapey tendancies don't always show on the surface, so for our own safety, we need to give you all the side-eye until we're sure. It's not fair to men, but it's what we have to do to stay safe.

Key words being "not done", I believe. Marching means little, however here we are, talking about a random marcher. And you know, little things like civil rights and women's rights to vote came from marching. I understand, though- taking no personal responsibility and whining on the Internet is so much more satisfying.

Yeah... your link is interesting, but I'd like to see some data for some of those statistics. Might be just a little biased. The one that jumped out was "91% of new home buyers are women"......really. and it's hardly positive that "women are expected to choose easy careers". And you honestly think one of the biggest issues facing women is 'division of household labor'? Look- you're obviously completely convinced. If you're so sure that you're perscecuted, I'm not licenced to talk you out of your…

So what have you done to change that? Women took to the streets a hundred years ago to demand that they be heard. Have you organized a march? Written to your senator? Done anything besides complain on the Internet? If you think something needs to change, there is a degree of personal responsibility.

"Not so sure about that" - that's what really intrigues me about you guys. Most rational feminists would agree that there are issues that men face disproportionately, but there is a running theme I've noticed with MRA that some of you seem to believe that women's issues are completely nonexistent. Do you really think that there isn't one issue that women face disproportionately? It really isn't an either/ or scenario.

I looked for it specifically, actually. My brother suggested I subscribe as a balance to xxchromosones. He identifies as a MRA, I identify as a feminist, we talked about it and decided it was a good idea to get out of our respective echo chambers and actually listen to what the other side had to say. Spoiler: both sides have valid points!

Why do we blame the people who are willing to work for less than minimum wage, and not the companies who are illegally hiring and paying less than minimum wage? It's impossible to 'steal' a job, it was the employers decision to hire immigrants rather than paying American citizens a living wage.

They were matching to protest a man who openly said that the way to go after a married woman is to grab her by the pussy, and this was acceptable enough for him to be voted into office, but you don't believe rape culture is real?

To be perfectly fair, I've seen this argument used to illustrate how absurd the Muslim ban is. That may be what she's shooting for, here. I don't know that for sure in this case, obviously, but the arguments I've seen go something like this: "Muslims are terrorists, we need to get rid of muslims!" "Most terrorists are men, maybe we should get rid of all men!" "But not all men are terrorists and not all terrorists are men, and men are a huge portion of the population, that's absurd!" "And not all…

Why would I bring that douche bag up? Have you read through the more extremist "mens rights" threads? They absolutely, whole-heartedly, support that mindset. Do I believe that you, or most mras, support that type of idealogy? No. Perhaps you could extend the feminists the same courtesy, and give us the benefit of the doubt? Like mras, most feminists don't support the extreme views. America being what it is, it's the extremists that get media coverage. If we could get past the labels, I'm willing…

Sure, but extremists of every variety are dangerous. Mens rights certainly has extermists. Prior to me poking around on this thread, I equated "mens rights" with extremist pro-rape, anti-women groups. People like Brock Turner's father, who called his son raping an unconscious woman behind a dumpster "just 20 minutes of action". Do you, or most MRA's, support that kind of mindset? Probably not. Just like there is a lot more to MR, there is a lot more to feminism than just the extremists.

Men being oppressed and women being oppressed are not mutually exclusive concepts. Both sexes face unique issues. As far as what type of equality? I'd say that at least theoretically, equality of opportunity and legal equality should lead to equal opportunity. Do you disagree?
/r/MensRights12/01/17 06:37 PM

I disagree with your statement that my views are the exception to the norm. The feminists that you're hearing about are the extremists, and most rational people don't agree with their views. After all, you call yourself a men's rights activist - do you believe the extreme views? Like rape being a man's right? That men are biologically superior and women should remain 'in their place' as child caregivers? Feminism at its core really is about actual equality. Don't let the jerks ruin it for everyo…

I'll be completely honest and tell you I skimmed the information in the link you shared, I have not yet read it fully. From what I saw, though, there's nothing I disagree with. Those are certainly all issues that effect men disproportionately, and they need to be addressed. I do believe that women face deeper issues, even in America, though the contrast isn't as deep between mens and women's rights in most first world countries. You, as a man, may be at higher risk of being mugged on your way ho…

Hello gentleman! I'm a feminist. I'm checking out this thread on the recommendation of a friend, and I'm honestly shocked at the reputation feminists have with you boys. Most of the feminists I know- or associate with, anyway- care about mens issues as well. We fight for equality, meaning equality for both genders. I do believe that women face deeper issues on a global scale, but that doesn't mean that issues facing men are unimportant. Do I think that the bias in family court to typically give …

Who says we need to replace qualified men with less qualified women? That's bs. We need to start teaching our daughters to develop an interest in 'manly' things like politics and science so there will be more qualified female candidates available. We need to combat the stereotype that a female politician is less qualified because she's a woman, and give equal people with equal qualifications and equal chance.

So. Chiming into this conversation as a rational feminist, hope no one minds. A friend suggested I check out this thread as a balance to xxchromosones, and I'm intrugued. So do I think that men being punished disproportionately is right? No, of course not. Do I think mothers should be awarded custody of children automatically over the father? Absolutely not. Do I think it's possible be sexist against men? Absolutely. Do I think both genders are equally at a disadvantage? Honestly, no. I do belie…

I'm curious to hear why you think feminists would have an issue with this. I'm personally a feminist (specifically the type that believes in equal rights, equal going both ways). Personally, I think this is pretty cool. Men want to make babies without involving women? Neat, by all means, go for it. One of the long standing issues feminists talk about is the idea that a woman's place is to have children. If you boys just found a way to do it on your own, great. It only helps combat the stereotype…
