Feelings are very hard to talk about! It's easy to fall into a trap of saying something like, "I feel like you aren't pulling your weight," -- which is not a feeling, it's blaming. Harder but more honest to say, "I feel empty, like an old stinking yogurt cup. I want to feel fresh & generous here, but I just can't! I need help. What do you think?" Edit: also, when in conflict, I try not to ask how my man FEELS, but rather what he THINKS. That's the problem-solving thread that I want to activate -…

I hear you! I'll do my best to think through what I imagine may actually work as a script + some tools going forward. I'm (obviously) not perfect, but I've got a couple years / relationships on you, so hopefully my mistakes will not have been in vain : ) Your "part" in this sounds like you keep giving with an expectation that it will be evenly reciprocated. Having unspoken expectations & "bean-counting" (keeping track to try to make things "fair") can both be problematic. Since you have been sic…

From my outsider's perspective, the issue doesn't really seem to be with cohabitation or with chores -- it's that you are: handling the home, bearing more than your share of the finances (since he makes more, yet you split things), looking to improve yourself (studying), & looking to improve the relationship (asking your questions here)... Yet all he is doing is existing (being "a good man") & not even offering you husband-level commitment. It also doesn't sound like you have any reason to belie…

I find identifying explicitly as a "witch" helps my husband make space for uniquely feminine energy in our home. It also makes it easier for him to understand why I am active in the church where I grew up (may seem counterintuitive, but it works for us)

My mother is 5 years older than my father -- he still can't keep his hands off of her. He's late 60s, she's early 70s. I don't think she would have had me (at 37) if she hadn't married my dad, who still wanted to father a child of his own.

3x/week would not be enough for me either. My husband & I have been together for years, & we regularly have sex 3x/day. I found my libido was a deal breaker in multiple relationships before my husband.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
