Do any of y’all celebrate your divorce anniversary?the thought of celebrating the divorce never cross my mind until i realized i was so much happier outside of the marriage so i see it as a day of celebration | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/04/22 04:50 PM |
How to trust again?it was someone she met in a support group, she was going through some mental health issues and she said the group helped and they were just friends and wanted to hang out after. i guess i was naive but i was never a jealous person and honestly thought she would never have cheated on me even though i knew there were some signs the marriage was failing. they ended up having an emotional affair and then an actual one and she bailed on me (we have kids as well) because he gave her the attention i ne… | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/04/22 05:32 PM
How to trust again?i think i'll struggle with this as well. i never controlled my ex in any way and when she wanted male friends it didn't bother me if they went out together, but that bit me in the end because she ended up falling in love with one of her 'friends' and left me for him. i know not all women are like this and i shouldn't project any of my own insecurities on anyone else, but at the same time you live life learning lessons and ultimately try not to make them again. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/04/22 03:27 PM
Working on being grateful for our time together regardless of how it ended.yea my ex always pushed me to be a better person, though i'm not sure if she did it bc she cared about me or for her own interests. without that push i wouldn't be in the career i love doing. i'll always be thankful for that. married 12 years, got 3 beautiful and healthy kids out of the deal, got to experience family life / being a home owner, had a lot of good times together mixed in with the bad. i'm appreciative of that. and all the lessons i've learned from this relationship will only make m… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/04/22 12:56 PM
My storywhenever i pushed back on my wife's request (she has a mental issue where she keeps wanting to do more than she can handle...more kids, more businesses, more pets, etc..) and most of that responsibility just fell on me because she couldn't handle it. it led her to lashing out at the kids when she had to work all the time. whenever i pushed back, i was 'unsupportive' | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/03/22 06:15 PM
What did you do? What can you do?yea, my ex baited me in order to get me angry. i fell for the trap a couple times. ended up just blocking her number because she would constantly call me at work and all times during the day, then blamed me for 'ignoring her' and 'intentionally hurting her' then proceeded to call me names, then would text me in order to get me to say something mean about her, which i did a few times. now i just communicate via email, it's a lot easier to write out an email and think about it before hitting send … | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/03/22 05:40 PM
