Anxious attachment, insecurity, fear of being ghosted after sex. Lots of people freak out when they think the object of affection/desire is not interested, or has lost interest. Had you lost interest (pre-spaz)? I've definitely experienced it from men, as a woman. Mad texting. Meltdown when assumed being ignored. One guy -- we had just met, there had been nothing more than a kiss -- I told him I'd be away for a week at a spa/wellness place with no wifi or cell service -- when my phone started pi…

Your profile pic or a screenshot of the profile = just someone asking if there is good news or bad news, or no news about a particular man they've matched with or have a date set up with. 9/10 times, there's nothing to report, or just a neutral "we were talking but never met," or "we went on one date and didn't vibe, but he seems nice enough." No one is "picking apart" a profile, and you can get banned for making a negative comment about a man's looks. There is a lot of positivity, e.g., "I work…

Reliable figures also are that only 10% of divorces result in alimony. To a large extent, this is a result of improved balance in terms of women earning money and having decent careers —AND of fathers being more involved w/child rearing. Full or primary custody for dad is not unusual. Imagine that 30 years ago.

A and B married in their 30s when he was a bicycle courier and she was in middle management/consulting. He got his MA in education and became a HS teacher. She rose to become an officer in her organization. Both retired recently. Two kids. 30 years. C and D married when he was an associate in a law firm and she was a financial advisor. He got sick of law and became a teacher. He would not have been able to make that change had she not been a high earner. That's what being life partners is about-…

Who says he's the one to "get fucked over"? In lots of couples, the woman earns more and/or has money/inheritances. Or they're about even. Off the top of my head, I can think of, easily, 25 couples I know where it is the case that the woman earns considerably more.

It's the opposite. Look up the statistics on 2nd and 3rd marriages and the divorce rates. Way too many people jump right into a full-on relationship after (or during...or before) a divorce. You'll filling a void.

Tragic story TW: You never know what curveballs life has in store. My friend who was very bitter about his divorce (she cheated) sucked it up and befriended her new husband (who, AFAIK, was not an AP) not just for the sake of his daughter, but for himself. The ex died last year after a short and horrific battle with cancer. Only 50. Daughter (young adult) had been living with her mom and stepdad primarily, and she and her stepdad who had become close mourned together. My friend honored that. Six…

But I can assure you--a. 90% of the "holy shit beware of this guy" posts are the same roughly 15-20 awful men, b. it's not a STBX or ex bashing place, c. a lot of posts are very positive e.g., mostly it's "anything bad about X? She suffers from mental health Extremely poor mental health. Where did you find this winner? For the sake of your child, particularly, you need to not only document everything -- make a call to her GP/PCP and tell them about her alcohol use and mental health problems. She should be in outpatient or inpatient rehab, at the very least. Is she on any mental health meds? She should be. Booze is just making it worse. The apps are loaded with men shaving up to 20-30 years off their ages in order to get past young women’s filters. So then some women may lie as well, in order to be seen by men their age range. Like the Joan and Carol comment here recently. Lying like that is incredibly lame, regardless. But that may explain the “lack of youthfulness” observation. Dude put his walker out of the photo frame. As a 50something, I agree, mostly. These dudes are all over the apps trying to get older women to F them and for the most part, it's b/c they think we're desperate and/or that we won't want more from them. If they were hot, OK, but in the US they are duds I wouldn't have fucked when I was 30 and have no intention of doing so now. You buried the lede, the part about your daughter being alone (or with bf/stepdad?) overnight and regularly. Your kids have a big age difference. I wouldn’t expect them to be close in the future so don’t worry too much about their connection. You need to talk to a tax professional about this. What do you mean, she "refuses" to file jointly? Since when does one person filing first get to claim two kids--wouldn't that require filing as head of household? Can't you just do what you agreed to do and force her to re-file? I have never heard of such issues. *not a tax or financial professional* In the meantime, I would file for an extension through Turbo or TaxAct (easier, IME). Step away from the NCSI re-runs. If you're talking about sending his toothbrush or cup, or hair with a root to a lab, be prepared to spend a LOT of money through private labs, even if possible. Commercial DNA companies accept cheek swabs or spit, depending on their method. And it's quite a lot of spit and the user needs to not eat or drink anything for 20+ minutes beforehand, and it often doesn't get enough DNA unless you chew on your cheek insides for a bit. I've tested through AncestryDNA, 23a…

People are notoriously bad at assessing familial resemblance, either where it does or does not exist. Loads of you do not understand what it means to “DNA test” to determine paternity here. OP will have to involve his son, whether he uses a drug store “paternity test” or the more reliable commercial AncestryDNA or equivalent. Ya see, THEY BOTH MUST PROVIDE DNA. So he’ll be saying he suspects he may not be his son. This is devastating on so many levels. Y’all in your mad zeal to “stick it to the …

Many men like what they consider the "traditional" nuclear family and related gender roles/dynamics. Yet, of the most long-lasting, contented couples I know, both have had solid careers* and no one took more than a couple of years off. Handling the daily logistics of a household +kids' stuff (school, doctors, social, etc.) is time consuming, and allows the working parent to focus on his/her career. So it absolutely does = contribution to the family, assuming the non-working or "light"-working sp…

Another way to look at the financial hit aspect, though, is to remember the adage "two live cheaper than one." So, couples have actually spent a LOT less than they would have individually. Obviously if one partner earns a LOT more or is the sole breadwinner, and there are kids, that shifts the financial picture. But of course, if one person is at home and taking care of all the shit single people have to do on their own, that working spouse benefits from that labor.

Women bond through sex; oxytocin (the bonding hormone) floods a woman’s body from orgasm. Perhaps there are women who can remain detached. Probably married and the man finances their lifestyle so they have F boys on the side. Leave the single ladies alone.

Depends on the jurisdiction. In the U.S., say they’re ill in the hospital, you have no legal rights to make decisions on a partner’s behalf unless married. Their “next of kin” may be their malicious estranged sibling, parent, or child instead.

If only the incels and the like took your third paragraph to heart. They don’t want to hear it from women.

That last sentence is a bit of a leap. However, I agree it’s just “taking the piss” for any parent to be SAHP once the youngest is, let’s say, 12. Assuming no special needs.

Don’t judge your future relationships w/your kids based on this moment in time, especially age 11. I (woman) became much closer to my dad as the years went on.

Yes. You have a type. Examine your family of origin dynamics for clarity.

The couple I knew who did it successfully were wealthy. Both had nice apartments to go to. And the boys were not little so it was short term. The husband in this case was the cheater (their 22-year-old receptionist) and my friend was great at never badmouthing him, even to friends.

Kids stay put. Parents stay with them during their custody time and have their own places.

Second hand, but yes. A friend and her ex-husband did this. It worked well.

And they don't have to be "executive" level, just someone with a good head on her shoulders. I don't go around advertising my 401K, and I'm not a VP or anything. I do have a solid career.

It's the people in your circle(s)/what you're attracting and looking for. Where are the women who have earned their own dough and have solid retirement accounts etc. We're busy working, not getting dolled up and out on the prowl for the next man.

Men cannot be tested for HPV. The strains that cause warts, sure those are often (not always) visible. The ones that cause cancer most often show no symptoms. The cervix is an ideal testing spot, is what my gynecologist said.

Do they not resemble you? Try asking someone neutral who is naturally good at “telling.” Tip—women are better than men in this regard. Frankly, as a “super recognizer” I find it puzzling when people can’t see/hear familial “echoes” in facial and body features etc. I’d say odds are they are your bio children, and you’d be causing them harm whether the plan is to involve them in cheek swabs or stealing their saliva some other way (which wouldn’t work anyway).
