No, a lifetime of no luck in my area: hence, the LDR

You are clearly the bigger person. I don’t know how you remained so collected, you must have been losing your mind… so you decided you loved him enough to stop him from imploding. Add kids to the equation, I don’t have any but I have an inkling, maybe… this will sound insane, and of course the grass is always greener but even though that was a tough spot you shared, I’m jealous. I envy that you two were able to come to an understanding, or rather he was accepting of your terms, and you’re both w…

Definitely feeling the suck lately. Oh my god… that’s, awful. And when you confronted them, what happened? I’m glad to hear you were willingly to work through that. I think we both feel like our significant others should be able to depend on and confide in us, and us them. It’s a two-way street.

It’s never fun, no. In this most recent case, she had valid points though, she just didn’t want to wait, and maybe felt some guilt, I suspect…so it was mutual(ish). What had happened?

No. Initially at the start of the relationship the distance was a factor for her. She wanted to move in, get married, have kids, etc. I attempted to compromise, so we could both keep our careers. Move in the middle: Which would have been 30 minutes down the road for her, she would have remained at her current job and just lived a town over, a better safer one, one where she could have potentially co-owned a home and started a family: which was her stated goal(s). She would have had zero commute,…

I won’t say that directly over Reddit. That seems like doxing. I’ll say we’re in a large state on the west coast and we’re 2 and half hours apart. it is more appealing to her Yes, I guess it was

Thank you But no, I was willing to move and sacrifice my career, so she didn’t have to

Again, go back and re read my OP. I’m a machinist/mechanic with a pension. I was willing to make a sacrifice, to add an hour and a half commute onto my daily routine to be with her. She refused. I attempted to find comparable employment in her area that had to meet A) my salary and B) my pension. That’s not entitlement that’s call stability. I think you’re the only entitled one here ma’am and are only proving OP’s point But keep pivoting, by all means. I’m sure living in shit strewn needle fille…

She didn’t need to quit. Reread my replies

It was her suggestion that we moved in together. What’s more important, her stated goal of finding a loving relationship and having children, or cafes restaurants and bars… Also in my original reply to you I stated that I capitulated to her “desire” by seeking a new career in her area - how is that belittlement?

I’m sorry you feel that way, but I disagree. It would have been 30 minutes from her current residence, but an hour and a half away for me: this was a compromise I proposed so we could both keep our current careers. Her response was “[she had] lived a thousand lives before, and [is] finally happy in this location and [doesn’t] want to compromise and sacrifice [her] happiness” and that she enjoyed the urban setting and lifestyle because of its “walk-ability”. I’m sorry but that’s juvenile

Most recently I had a LDR that ended because she didn’t want to compromise on where she lived. She (33f) was in the same boat as me, never married, no kids, great career in healthcare working for a major HMO. It was definitely love, on an emotional and physical level. Her main gripe was the physical distance between us. I suggested we both rent or buy a place in the middle, in a small agricultural town, would’ve been a great place to start a family. Long story short she didn’t want to give up he…

I’m very empathic to the plight of the average man, and woman. But OP’s post was a critique on todays society. Reread my reply and you’ll see that

36m. I’m a machinist/mechanic for a major transit agency on the west coast. I’m relatively fit, handsome, make over 100k, with a let’s just say above average endowment. I never had kids and never married, although I wanted those things. I have now completely given up and checked out of dating. Theses days I’ve found most women are unwilling to compromise on the smallest of issues and the levels of entitlement have reached unforeseen heights. Unless you’re a millionaire metrosexual 6’3 ophthalmol…
