I doubt that person is fully asexual then. An asexual couldn't really conceptualise "hot" since they don't find anyone hot. That's the definition of asexual. That person who is "asexual" but like "hot" people seems like an allosexual with a lower than usual libido for their age group or whatever. It is not the same as asexual. I noticed asexual is used for everything now. Lower libido, finding only a few people attractive in a given time, etc. But that is not what asexual is.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/26 09:13 AM

I doubt asexual women would care about looks. I am not asexual personally but I am guessing the only thing they would need him to be is hygienic and not smell badly since most of them still want non-sexual physical contact. But looks per se? I don't see how that would matter to asexual women. They won't snog or bang so how would they have a 'type'?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/26 09:08 AM

Some allo asexual relationships work too. More than you think. Of course if the asexual is repulsed then no. But if they are sex favourable or neutral it can and does work. Plus some of those relationships are open and the all is allowed sex with other people. Not all asexuals are comfortable with this but some are.

Nobody is entitled to any personal relationship with anyone else whether it is friendship, dating, marriage, business partnership or even being flat mates. Personal relationships are not a civil right like healthcare or education. They are very personal choices. Choosing whether and with whom to form a particular personal relationship is freedom of association. Nobody owes you or anyone dating and/or marriage just because you are an employed, law abiding person. Personal relationships are deeper…

THIS!!!!! First and second scenario you are a person in a body. In the third you are just a body like a doll. Disrespectful and objectifying.

This is a very nebulous definition. And complete sexual expression is a relative concept just like hapiness i.e. something that makes you happy may not make me happy. Same for sexual expression.

They are not enforcing it upon anyone. It is impossible to enforce a standard on someone who doesn't have it to start with. For example, nobody could force me to adopt a "I need a rich man so I can be be a SAHM" because I would hate being a SAHM in the first place. I would feel dependant, vulnerable and pull my hair out with boredom all at once. No thanks.

OH YES THEY DO! THEY VERY MUCH DO! I volunteered for a LGBT charity for a year or so and bi women were disowned, kicked out of their homes and physically attacked at the same rate as lesbian women and gay men. One woman's straight partner tried stabbing her when she came out to him. You must live in a parallel universe to think bi women are from violence, harassment and ostracism for who they love. If only!

Why do they just have to age out of it together? There are many instances when one part of a younger couple cannot have sex anymore due to certain lieflong conditions, chronic pain, losing mobility and sensation from the waist down, at times one even becomes quadriplegic. And no, not all of them separate. I watched a documentary about six or seven couples like that (all under 40) and how they make it work. Some became open couples but not all. The non-open ones still stayed together. The one who…

You believe in destiny and that people come in halves in this day and age? I don't think anyone is anyone's other half because we are all whole human beings. People choose to share their life with other whole human beings. Not halves.

Thank you for this vivid description. I am glad you enjoyed it. It somehow makes me glad I am aromantic. Expereincing this kind of love would be waaaaay to intense for me. I think I would literally faint or go into a coma lol. Friends, physical friends I like that. Imma stick to that.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/26 05:09 PM
3

Most don't but some do. And not just aromantics either. Their choice is valid too. Also some people have a more business arrangement like marriage rather than romantic. And not just arranged marriage folks. Some people who were disappointed, traumatized or had a lot unrequited romantic love or grew tired of looking opt for the above dynamic. As long as the two people are honest and on the same page I don't see the problem. Their life their choice.

She could very well be heterosexual but not have a physical type like me. As in she is attracted to people with penises, no boobs and some facial/body hair but she doesn't care about their height, build, complexion, eye/hair colour, if they wear a beard or not, etc. That is still heterosexual.

Don't speak for the whole human speacies thank you very much. Maybe you are vain, I certainly am not. And people's faces and bodies do change. Age, hormones, medical conditions and/or the side effects of medication, etc. It is not just bone structure and diet.

THIS! Bodies change, often a lot. Core values, personality traits, humour, ways of dealing with problems not so much.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/26 02:56 PM

I don't care if people in general find me attractive. If I did I wouldn't have an alternative aesthetic, bed hair and no makeup. I am hoping that whoever I find attractive at a particular time find me attractive back (as does everyone). I don't care about the majority finding me attractive. That would be a hassle plus I would be getting cat calls/harrassment and crap which I luckily never got so far.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 02:57 PM

Why do you care what a woman you are not dating and shouldn't be dating (because you have a gf) thinks if you are hot? (facepalm)
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 02:51 PM

That's why ASSuming makes an ass out of everyone. Similar morals more or less yes. For example I would not be friends with anyone who hits their partner/s or kids. Or if they are a violent person in general. Lifestyles not so much. For example I am vegan (half by choice half by circumstance aka food intolerances) most of my friends are not. I am atheist, childfree and not into marriage/LTR yet quite a few of my friends are religious (not radicals or fanatics) who want children. We still socialis…
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 02:49 PM

You are disgusting making generalizations like that. White women are not status symbols because they are people not objects. There are stunning people in every ethnicity. Plus biracial people are generally considered more attractive. Maybe not in your white supremacist worldview though.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 02:07 PM

You are racist and ASSumptive. Why are you assuming that he is fetishizing her? And why do you think blonde hair is better than dark and more worthy of passing on?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 01:58 PM

Why do you like superficial things in general?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 01:54 PM

Those seem very irrelevant and shallow things to base one's value on. So you don't base your value on how kind, helpful, empathetic, understanding and open minded you are? Just looks, money, amount of friends (never mimd the quality of those friends). Plus what do your kids have to do with your value? You are very odd to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 01:52 PM

So you are an egomaniac who lives for the opinions of others? I can't relate.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 01:46 PM

To each their reach I LOVE this phrase. And it rhymes! A lot of people that have a strong physical type don't get it. Us energy peeps get it.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 01:22 PM

I RELATE HARD to this! Especially because I don't have a physical type and am more energy drawn. Happens allll the time. I am not bi though.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/26 01:20 PM

It doesn't have to be a rare type. It could be that the friend group is from the same culture and prefer to date within their culture for both aesthetic and compatibility reasons. The friend may not identify with the culture and prefer to date men from their 'soul' culture because she finds them more attractive and their values align more.

STANDING APPLAUSE! This! I agree. If they don't accept you for all of you they are not for you. Same goes for hiding any important information about yourself. Someone my great aunt knows hid their ethnic background from their wife because of wider culture of that country and how his ethnicity is viewed there. He told her after a couple of months and she left. When he asked why she left him she said: "I didn't. I wasn't with you. I was with an illusion of you."

That's UTTER rubbish! If they are straight why would they say thay they are bi and risk violence, harrassment and ostracism?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 10:37 PM

There's loads of non biphobic women. The trick is to move in artsy and/or activist circles and date only bi/trans or non-binary women. Super cis, traditionalist, straight women do tend to be biphobic unfortunately especially if they are not the "alternative" type.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 10:35 PM
3

YES! Same goes for all queer folx. Why date a transphobe if you are trans? I am straight and not trans but I would never be in any personal relationship with people who are homo/transphobic because our values would clash.

Just FYI non-monogamous people have children too if they want them. Not saying you should be non-monogamous if you don't sway that way but there are open couples with children and even committed triads with children.

Because someone who is a 6 in one person'd eyes is another person's 9 (as much as I hate this ranking people by number as if they were objects). People value different things in a relationship and want different things out of it. For example just because someone is very conventionally attractive doesn't mean their attraction patterns are conventional. A Gillette/Loreal model could be attracted to chubby people or to the same sex as them. They could be drawn more to energy than looks. I had a mal…

THIS!!!!! Lots of wise takes with this one winning. Sex inclusive isn't the same as sex based. You are right about it being foolish to have have a sex based connection (not sex inclusive) because it means the connection is lost if/when one person cannot have/doesn't desire sex anymore for whatever reason i.e. age, medical, time/stess, other priorities, long-distance (i.e. military spouses). A very logical take on your part. And I would say very true and realistic. Just because someone is sexually incompatible with someone doesn't make either of them asexual.

Or people who cannot have sex or find it painful/difficult due to certain chronic medical conditions or medication side effects. Some start off having sex and then the mirigating circumstance happens. Their relationship doesn't stop being romantic for that reson alone. And people deal with it in different ways either by becoming ethically non-monogamous or using self-pleasure/toys/something intermediate i.e. one partner cuddle the other while the other self-pleasures so technically they are not …

STANDING APPLAUSE AND A KNEELING BOW TO YOU! You explained it spot on. Extra kudos for these: " Interestingly I see a lot more people claim women to be asexual because for a lot of women sex just works different than for men. Yes! This does happen. People misusing asexual for responsive desire or having a lower libido. And the last paragraph. Big agree.

Heterosexual means EXCLUSIVELY attracted to men. Meaning every time she is attracted to someone it happens to be a man. It doesn't mean attracted to most men. It doesn't matter if they source of attraction is appereance, personality, style/grooming, musical talent, whatever. For example a woman is only attracted to attracted to men with black hair and blue eyes no ifs, no buts,no exceptions she is still heterosexual. It also applies to fetishists.

Whaaaaaaaat? Some people are silly. A lot of people are drawn to energy/vibe/personality over looks. And if that draw is wanting to take someone's clothes off they are NOT asexual. They are just not looks focused.

No you don't NEED to get laid. You just want to! You won't die, collapse unconscious or lose a limb if you don't have sex with a woman or any person for that matter. Pinky promise. As for releasing tension/scratching the itch use your hand/sillicone doll. That's what they are for. You are not entitled to anyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/01/26 01:20 PM

And why should they get married unless they want to? Why should ANYONE get married unless they want to? If people want to fling it and party so be it. It's not illegal. If they want to globe trot, have twenty hobbies at a time so be it. If they want quiet, solitudinous, slow living great! People are wired differently and want different things out of life. There are as many ways to live as there are people on this Earth.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/26 05:44 PM

May be the case for some. I think more of them are single and childfree by choice. People who really want a partner and children for whatever reason may not be able to see it but not having a partner and children has a LOT of advantages. And some just don't feel the pull towards the partner+kids lifestyle.

Not true. PLENTY of women hobbyists. PLENTY! There may be less of them into cars, gaming or sport (although a fair amount are) but there are other hobbies. Here is a list of hobbies this woman has: Spanish dance, acro dance, meditation (chanting and breathwork) , cooking, baking, gardening, needlework, crafts, globe-trotting. There are much less men into those hobbies so you can be sure I didn't pick it from a guy. Some I found randomly, some I got from my grandmothers.

Getting someone drunk poses issues around clear and free consent as well as being high risk sexual behaviour for a reason. An intoxicated person whether through alcohol or drugs is more impulsive, has delayed reaction time and a sort of brain fog. They often forget condoms and their safe word. There are all sorts of people in the world and some naive and/or doormat types might be attracted to Dark Triad personalities (also some late teens early 20s naive women). However, most mature, intelligent women who value themselves will not. If someone is rude, condescending, arrogant and manipulative they are OUT in my book. A lot of "attractive" women, whatever that means to you, would automatically and rightfully, write you off for putting other women down. Disrespect is a turn-off. It' not always insecurity. Some people like familiarity when it comes to looks and some like difference. I want my men to have friends, go away with them, go on overnights trips with them etc I would personally feel comfortable with my partner doing that with female friends too. One's skill at and passion for a job should be the deciding factor not whether they have children. What is a well paying job according to you? Only six figure salaries or anything above the minimum wage? How about average salary jobs like education, healthcare, social work, bus driver, museum staff, administrator, etc…

I know abortion and contraception was banned but how would a celibacy tax be enforced lol? What if someone crossed over into neighbouring Yugoslavia, got sterilized and went back to Romania. Technically they didn't abort, use contraception and they may not be celibate but they are not having a baby. I know about the monthly gyno exams and the overflowing orphanages :-(. That was super sad.

Erm voting should not be a duty. It should be a right but not a duty. I don't vote, never have and never will. My family tend to be non-voters. EVERYONE aged 18+ should be allowed to vote. Marital status, having children should not affect it or anything else for that matter. Just like your profession or where you live should not affect it. Btw some people CAN'T have children fyi. EVERYONE pays taxes proportionate to their income aka their tax bracket. Marrying and having children is NOT it is a choice. and it should NEVER be a duty. Just like your profession, where you live, whom you associate with in your free time are choices. Forcing those who don't want to be spouses and parents to be those things results in them being miserable and resentful and the children and spouses neglected. Nobody needs that.

It is not common but not super uncommon either. Especially for people who are demisexual (lots of my friends are) it is the the norm since knowing the person and developing an emotional closeness IS what triggers the attraction for them. Not looks, not stye, not them being a whizz at something just knowing the person on a deeper level and connecting (vibing) with them. A very usual thing. At least in large European cities. Literally ALL my friends, colleagues, acquaintances and my mum's clients had kids from 35-45. Some even had twins and one (my dance instructor) had triplets! I haven't met a mum under 35 for years now. This 'must have kids in my twenties' mania seems to be common in the USA. I just don't get it. My own mum was 32 when she had me and one of her friends 37 when she had her son my best frenemy.

But something being legal doesn't mean it's right. Biologically 18 year olds are adults. Psychologically they are teens. Also being a legal adult is different ages for different purposes. Like 18 (where I live 16) for consent but 21 to drink alcohol? Why is that? Getting pregnant as a teen is a LOT more dire than getting drunk. I read about the brain maturing until 25 in various places. My advice: Don't have a baby until at least late 20s. Your body may be ready but the rest of you isn't.

A child gets 50% of the genes from the mother and 50% from the father. You were supposed to learn that in primary school. Plus being pregnant older than 30 is not a big deal. In my city the most common age to get pregnant is 35+. Most mothers at my school have kids at that age and 98% of those kids are not disabled. Not that being disabled is bad.

What about single at heart people? As in those not single out of disappointments or bad luck but wired to be that way? And there are many women who had children that they didn't truly want due to pressure from their parents, partners and the wider culture. Forced polygamy or forced monogamy or forcing women into any relationship is bad for women's rights. But if a particular woman chooses to be in a polyamorous/polygamous relationship because it suits her for whatever reason in a free society like ours so be it. Or chooses to be single. Or a nun for that matter. People can choose whatever they want even of those around them don't understand it.

They are soooooo not! You are scary if you can't see the difference. Sterilization is mutilating somebody against their will and breaking their bodily autonomy in the worst possible way. It's like chopping someone's hand off. Not choosing to have children with someone or not to have children at all is your right. Nobody is entitled to children but everybody is entitled to ownership of their bodies, and entitled not to be mutilated or tortured.

They are not THAT non-negotiable for most men. There were always out of synch, desperate people around but if everyone who didn't have a wife and family went on a murdeous spree there would only be half the number of people in the world lol. I know plenty of people men included who would have loved to have a partner and children and tried their best but it just wasn't in their stars. None of them killed anyone or died an early death because of it.

Maybe you are not into luxury or nice things (neither am I and I am a woman) but most people including most men are into it. If only women were into luxury there would be no bespoke suits, sports cars, classic/vintage cars, Rolex watch or fancy aftershave businesses. They all make tons of money and are aimed at men. Good luck with the van life. I am not too far from it myself apart from wanting a stationary roof over my head lol. Other luxuries nope. I would NEVER be a sahm though. If your partn…

No offence but Kyle sound violent. That profile of man always makes me repulsed not attracted regadless of what he looks like. The vibe itself is shivers and the fact that he is lazy, flaky and unhelpful makes it even worse.

Good job you stopped identyfiying as that because you are not that. important physical attraction was to me as well. I just needed both. You said it. Physical is important to you, you just need the emotional first. Lots of people do. Not unusual. If you were demisexual you wouldn't even experience the physical. It would be emotional only. Some describe it as "looks blind" or "only goes for the energy of the person". Rare but there.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/25 10:44 AM
2

THIS! It gets used incorrectly indeed. Demisexual doesn't mean needs emotional attraction as well as physical. Or that the emotional attraction is more important than the physical. It means emotional attraction is the ONLY one that makes them want to get busy with the other person. The only attraction that thry can feel. The physical is completely irrelevant. So are kinks/fantasies. Very few people are demisexual, so few, in fact that when they describe how their attraction works even without us…

And there's no proof of women dating the same guy? And again - if they are, they're most likely not doing so willingy and knowingly... More women than you think are doing it willingly and knowingly. It's called casual or friends with benefits. Nothing new. The friends part means non-exclusive. There is and always has a subset of men and women not pursuing long-term, exclusive, cohabiting relationships because they prefer the opposite kind. How is it a virtue? No shame in being drawn to looks. Or energy/vibe. People are just describing how they are wired in terms of attraction. Just like some looks drawn people put more emphasis on the face than the body or vice versa, energy drawn people go more for smarts or more for emotions. I am 90% energy drawn and the looks part is more style, smile, geatures, look in their eyes than whether they are tall, short, fair, dark, etc.

They were shallow. A woman who is obsessed with penis size/finish time is just as shallow as a man who is obsessed with a particular boob size/shape. Someone like that would leave if their partner was to lose their penis, become immobile from the waist down or have a hormonal condition or lose their breasts to cancer. Those people wouldn't make good life partners because they would leave their partner at difficult parts of their life.

Using your hands is just as pleasurable and sometimes more so than using your penis. Both are sex. Masturbation is self-pleasure. Pleasuring another person IS sex. The last one is silly. There are plenty of lower libido and/or demisexual women. I dare say moreso than men. I am sure they would love such a partner. As for a small penis there are plenty of women for them too. Pansexual women to whom genitalia don't matter, some straight women don't care about penis size if there is a strap-on at hand and the man is an otherwise passionate lover. Also some women have medical conditions that make intercourse painful but still enjoy other sex. The first two grou…

Superficial is also relative. What is superficial to someone has a deep meaning to someone else. Also family and close relationships don't have to come from spouse+kids. If you are, fair enough, as long as the other person is looking for a pragmatic dynamic too. But be honest about it, since most people are looking for a romantic dynamic.

"I have two but I’d never had had them except for my husband" Fair enough. It is important to be compatible, share basic goals and values as well as views on parenting in order to parent together successfully. But you wanted children in the abstract, as an idea before meeting him, right? I hope he didn't persuade (read manipulate) you into such a life transforming endeavour Childfree women who are partner seeking (not me) seek childfree partners. Like it is one of the compatibility dealbreakers …

To be fair most men do too. Or at least more do than don't. But it's not just anecdotal just because it is a minority view. If it was only a few people on the planet lol there wouldn't be childfree communities, flights, hotels and restaurants. Also, remember that not everyone who has children explicitly wanted them. Some people had oopser babies and kept them for whatever reason whether religious/cultural/familial pressure, being scared to abort or give it up for adoption, etc.

"A kid is off the table for millions" Myself included. Like why would I be losing sleep, changing nappies and following school holidays calendar to travel abroad when I can be part-time bellydancer on some evening after work, watch TV until late without worrying I will wake up the kids and travel more cheaply whenever I feel like it? There is no way anybody could sell being a mum to me.

If every woman kids why do you think so many get their tubes removed? This whole every woman wants kids thing some men seem to think always confuses me. Like I can't keep a plant alive. I defo don't even want to imagine how I would handle a child. I was on a childfree forum and there are couples where the man gets a vasectomy and the woman tubal removal. If everyone wants kids why do you think people go to such measures explicitly to prevent having kids? I am sorry if you want kids and can't hav…

in fact you are comparing them with models. The modelling industry is riddled with bulimia and anorexia. THIS! Both are two sides of the same body dysmorphia coin.

Regular gym going isn't body modification. Bodybuilding, however is. The whole point of bodybuilding is to look a very specific way, not just generally fit but being a certain size, shape, etc. A lot of "mainstream" people view dedicated/professional bodybuilders as a bit "odd" the same way they view people with many piercings and tattoos.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 08:31 PM

I was just mentioning some examples. LOTS of handsome Asian men around. And I am not just talking K-Pop men or Takeshi Kaneshiro. I mean random men walking down the street. I turned my head many times. Whoever said Asian men are not handsome has no taste. Don't listen to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/25 04:23 PM

Who ARE those weirdoes? No offence.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/25 04:16 PM

Oh come on! Height is really not that important. If all women were all about height East Asia would have already died out since most men there are short. Dozens of short men with wives and kids here in London and Paris. Granted the women are short too and most aren't even Asian. I am a short woman (5"2) and everyone I have ever been with was either my height or medium height. I was attracted to them. I have never fetishized baskeball player height (in the USA it could be different) or even been …

Many people in many cultures live at home until they are married and even after they get married. The extended family is the norm in India, South America and the Pacific. Living with parents is actually valued. A lot of people's partner seeking woes would be solved if they tried dating someone from a different culture. Like when Safaa, a very large woman from my Kontiki trip went to Ghana half hoping to get married because her body type is popular there. She's been happily married for a decade n…
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/25 10:26 AM

This is very true. I noticed the same. Unless a woman is really into fitness herself as her main hobby they just don't care about strength/muscles. Or unless she is the traditional provide for me and protect me type.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/25 09:22 AM

THIS!!!!!!!! A man can be or look like an Olympian with a Gillette model face aka culturally seen as attractive but that is useless if a woman he is trying to attract is into sedentary, bearded, bookish men with glasses. A lot of cottagecore/twee/soft goth women are into the vibe described above. Or even if there is a mutual attraction but no compatibility then only a one-nighter will work.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/25 09:19 AM

So I guess you don't believe in connection, being compatible, having fun together, caring and dedication to each other matters? Most women choose partners based on the above (apart from fetishists ) with looks being only a small sliver. To you a life partnership is just looks, sex and money? If so, go to a sex worker.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/25 09:12 AM

If that's what matters in the USA change continents. Seriously.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/25 09:05 AM

Those are some dodgy, racist, money-hungry women. Stay away from those even if you are white and rich. She is gonna raise the kids racist. And materialistic. I'd have trouble being friends with someone like that let alone partners because our key values clash.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/25 09:03 AM

Erm are you trying to say only white men can be handsome (angry face) and that all women prefer white men? Sooooo not true. I mean I am white and quite looks blase in terms of not caring about height, eye colour, hair colour, body type, etc but have been attracted to South American men more often than other ethnicities for some reason. I am guessing language/culture since they were all very different looking. Some like Native American, some European some Afro Latino. It's not just me either. One…

Yeah. Good point. People ought to reflect and think a bit more. I think it's also about upbringing and role-modeling to be fair. For example, one reason why I was always befuddled by gender roles and to a large extent by the concept of gender itself (not biological sex that's different) is because my grandparents who raised me, never stuck to them. Both of them cooked, both could do basic repairs around the house, they shared all their coats/jackets because my grandma had a more androgynous shap…

Most women probably don't care about this bizarre level of "masculinity" Since when are umbrellas and desserts feminine????? I see men eating cakes all the time. It's as common as eating soup. Umbrellas is something humans use when it's raining. Where oh where do you find these wacko women? What else do they consider feminine? Eating rice instead of potatoes or vice versa? (facepalm).
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/25 06:54 PM

Or they will go to sperm bank. It's 2025. Having sex or a partner are not necessary for passing on your DNA if it's so important to someone.

/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/25 05:26 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/25 05:15 PM

You never know. Just a few decades ago cohabitation, having children while unmarried (even if coupled), divorce, step-families and same sex relationships were HIGHLY stigmatised. Waaaaay less now (some not at all). All we need is for the majority of people to stop stigmatising it and accept it as part of life. I personally have never stigmatised it and am glad that it is becoming legal in more and more places even though I don't partake in it in any form personally. People's own bodies people's …

There are polyamoruos units aka polycules raising children as we speak. And I mean units not open/swinger married couples. There are usually 3-4 people living together committed in various dynamic i.e. triad, V, non-romantic nesting partners having a committed romantic partner each etc. It's not new and not unseen. I saw a couple of Youtube videos where the kids (mid teens) share their perspective. In a nutshell they don't give a darn. They are in a safe, supportive, loving home after all. Who p…

Exactly. And so do people who cannot have sex due to trauma, chronic medical conditions that make having sex painful/pretty much impossible. Some people are very sexual in their marriage but if their partner is unable to have sex at some point in the marriage they don't divorce. They stay married and use porn/toys or open their marriages. Lots of arranged marriages don't have the raw lust/desire/attraction (more like non-repulsion). I heard from non-asexuals on more than one occasion that they l…

You are under the exactly the right impression. That's almost how it works with the two coparenting pairs that I know. Except for that they do approximately 30% mum time, 30% dad time and 30% family time. By family time I mean go for day trips or weekends. Such as a trip to the funfair or the zoo. Or a hiking weekend. Longer holidays such as a week in Spain they do separately. One of my student's parents divorced when she was 3 and her brother was 1 (amicably I suppose) and continued with the ab…

Erm that's a bit simplistic. Less children is not the only cause plus it's not the doom some people think it is. With more mechanisation there will be less need for many people. We have self-checkouts, my place isbtrialing driverless trains and buses (there is already one driverless train line running from 2005.). Btw people can have children via IVF, AI, sperm/egg donation, surrogacy or intra uterine injections. Intercourse is not the only way. Some people don't want children and that's OK.

Polyamorous people certainly can. It disgusts you and you cannot imagine it because you are wired for monogamy. Just like you can't understand being aroused by a woman if you are hetero. Different strokes for different folks.

True. There is a HUGE stigma to being divorced in India, especially in rural or more religious communities. It can turn you into a total social outcast.

People can have good sex even with erection problems. There are realistic dildos (some can ve custom made to measure) vibrators, other toys, etc. There is oral and manual sex. There is BDSM, top-bottom dynamics, etc. Saying only intercourse is sex is kind of close minded and very ableist.

True point. Like what if their spouse develops a chronic illness/disability that leaves them unable to have sex at all? I am active in disability spaces both online and offline and although not all disabilities hinder people's libido or ability to have sex SOME definitely do. One lady with fibromyalgia suffers severe joint mobility problems and chronic pain so she takes medication. The problem is that the only medication and dosage that helps her to be semi-independent and lessens her pain a lot…

Well then you don't have to do it. I was just trying to be helpful by giving some possibilities/options. If you believe conventional marriage is the best option or the best for you go down that route. Mind you, on a quite a substantial chance you get divorced you'd still be coparenting so there's that.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/24 05:56 PM

True. To be fair some want their own blood same as women do AND put in the work. It is one of the biggest myths that men only want children because their wives persuade them. If you don't want children out of your own will don't have them or allow anyone to persuade you. It's not a temporary favour. One is a parent forever.

Same thing that happens if your boyfriend/husband or girlfriend/wife leaves you. It depends if their name is on the birth certificate. If yes, then they pay child support, if not then they don't. It doesn't depend on whether the parents were a couple beforehand.

You don't necessarily need to be rich to have lovers/casual relationships. I know plenty of what some people would call "mid" men (I am a "mid" woman myself) with casual relationships.

No, you wouldn't live with her. Or be a couple in any sense such as having joint finances, dates, etc. It would be like being amicably separated with a 50-50 custody. You would still be single. You could still a girlfriend/fwb when the children are with the other parent. It doesn't mean you become a monk lol.

You would be surprised at the amount of heterosexuals on platonic parenting sites. It is certainly not just for asexual people. Not all heterosexuals are the same. Some don't find the idea of a long-term, cohabiting relationship appealing, others don't want one anymore due to having a long string of bad luck or a very traumatic experience. Some have a profession requiring frequent travel or a lot of time/energy so do not have enough time to dedicate to both a romantic partner and children. Peopl…

Libfem here. I personally support polyamory and all forms of legal-age, consensual relationships and family structures. Love is love is love and family is family is family. ALL safe, supportive and loving families are great in my book. I am queer not as in gay/bi but as in screw arbitrary structures and preconceptions of what love and family should look like.

You were under the right impression. Yes, it would be like 50-50 custody for amicably separated parents. I know someone doing it and that's what they are doing at the moment. I mean they take a day trip with the kids together sometimes or eat together in a restaurant once a week but mostly it's what you described. Most people think that it's some kind of self-arranged married where you live together and all without the feelings. It's NOT. Agree about living close by until the kid is 18 or so but…
