Yeah it is a pretty nice idea. Shame there isn't much you can do about the handouts but at least you have access to the school calendar. I've just been reading a bit of your blog, and while your situation is obviously not the best, you really seem to come at a lot of things with a great attitude. There are a lot of positives for others in the same situation to get out of reading your blog. Good stuff, and best of luck in getting a more equal physical custody arrangement if you ever get the chanc…

There’s a Christmas concert (excuse me… “holiday”; it’s being put on by the school) this coming Wednesday that she neglected to tell me about Just wanted to say, if not being informed of events like that is a recurring theme, you might also want to look into getting an account set up here: http://www.bothparents.com/ This way the school can inform you both directly about anything you might need to know, and you won't need to rely on her being open about it as much.

We are sex objects. Here for men's viewing pleasure and sexual enjoyment. That's about it in your eyes. And we get treated like it too. Sometimes it helps us (when we get out of speeding tickets) and sometimes it hurts us (when we're used for sex, cheated on because there's so many hot sex objects running around, and bashed for being sexual with other men because you have to have us all to yourselves). Is it me, or is she saying that because women are sex objects they're both cheated on AND bash…

While I do believe that is true, there are also many boys who are made into child soldiers and do not get an education. Also, the 53%/47% gap was for primary education if I recall, meaning no school whatsoever. I believe the gap is wider for secondary education.

No it's not, it's gay friendly and I'm sure there are many gay men here, but we're not specifically gay-oriented. Hope you find what you're looking for.

That's what I have heard as well, and I know have sources for it somewhere. I have an e-mail back and forth with a friend going on that I have been discussing all sorts of men's issues with, and for a while we were on education, and I'm sure I had sources for that. Problem is the e-mail back and forth is spread out over multiple 40-50 e-mail threads as it's been going on since May, and 10 minutes of searching and I haven't been able to find it. I'll look more later, posting here so I remember, a…

It's not easy to this at all, but I think the best attitude you can have for yourself is one of "fuck them". I am a large guy and not too attractive. Not as horrendously ugly as these events may make me seem, but still not too attractive. A month ago I brushed the arm of a girl on the bus with my hand. I said sorry, and she didn't say anything, just walked away to the other side of the bus. I was a little saddened, but it didn't get to me right away, later though it reminded me of all the other …

The issue with men and marriage is not good women turning bad. If a woman does to you the things you've described, she hasn't changed. She has relaxed. That line really resonated with me. Perfectly describes her "change", and she even pretty much stated it. After one of her particularly bad abusive episodes, she said it was a good thing because it meant she was comfortable enough with me to act that way. Edit: perfectly describes my ex's change, that is

Thank you for the update and a huge congratulations from me! That's a pretty shitty decision to have to make though. I'm not going to comment on the statistics you've been arguing about but: so the number 1 cause of divorce is cheating, and men cheat in 3/4 of the time, kind of puts the 'women file for divorce more than men' thing in perspective On the "putting things into perspective" part. You are implying that women file for divorce more because they have more reason to file for divorce because husbands cheat more. Except the problem is that stat does not prove husbands cheat more, it only proves that in ca…

Usually I am big hater of the "this isn't a men's rights issue" type comments. They're very annoying and they're usually wrong. But I am gonna have to express that opinion for the first time. Yes, they're unequal tasks, but in sports I think that's okay. In becoming a firefighter, police officer, or soldier, or something like that, absolutely not okay. But this is different. They're not gaining an unfair advantage, nobody's safety is depending on them performing at a certain level, and I don't s…

Yes, when rape is defined as forced penetration 91% of the victims are female and 9% are male. When you use a non-biased definition that includes women raping men with their vaginas, you get even numbers.

I think that to the uninformed, 7 and 8 don't really have the impact they should. Most people already know that men commit suicide much more often than women, but also believe the factoid that women attempt many times more, thus making it seem like women still have it worse in that department. If you can refute that factoid in this list with a link, I think it'd be stronger. Similarly with 8, I'm sure some people will just think "yeah well, men commit more crimes!". Being able to show that it's …

I agree with you on everything but the original dehumanizing comment. If he was saying what you're taking it as, then yeah, it would be dehumanizing, but I don't think that's the case. It's not about default human but about default behavior. He's not saying the default human is man, he's saying his default behavior is how he acts towards men. His normal, natural behavior is how he acts towards men. The change in behavior comes only when he is interacting with a woman. So interacting with a woman…

I know this post really isn't about tennis but the color of the clay wasn't their complaint. The blue clay was extra slippery and had awkward bounces and that's what they had issues with. The court really wasn't up to par. That said, regular clay courts can have the same issues if the court isn't made right and there's no reason to believe the blue clay can't be adjusted and fixed as well. Sounds like you did a great job under trying circumstances. I agree that in that situation it probably would not have been best to turn it into a debate, and that competing about who has it worse would have been a bad idea, and even that you can't technically quantify the differences, but I do believe you can reasonably judge who has it worse. It will of course be different for each individual but as a whole I still think it can be judged. Obviously as an MRA I believe men have it quite a bit wo…

I'm actually probably a little more torn on this than I made it seem and than you are. I do usually agree with Paul on most things, but I'm not 100% with him on this. First of all, rape can sometimes be about power, and it can sometimes be about sex. It can also be about both at the same time. I don't see why both sides can't acknowledge that there just might be more than one reason for it. That said, saying they are begging for or demanding it is too far. Saying that it probably does increase the likelihood is not. Paul addressed this in his addendum. If the only point is "Rape i…

My response is pretty much what Celda said. This is not a broad generalized joke. This is a specific incident mocking a specific individual. This article has the potential to hurt that specific individual even further and I am not okay with that. I think I'll be able to handle not falling down a slippery slope and ending up as reactionary as feminists can be. And I'm okay with telling The Daily Caller that it is wrong to write this shit.

This isn't a slightly objectionable article. The "soft censorship" feminists do is losing their cool over female-specific curse words or someone painting a single or group of women in a negative light. This man on the other hand, has been through a terrible trauma that could easily fuck him up for life. I think he deserves the decency to not be publicly mocked on top of that.

That's Life is an actual magazine, a real life publication, obviously. I think you maybe misread something? Feratian was saying that a man should just be able to choose to be responsible or not for the child post birth, but this doesn't allow the woman to take into account whether or not she'll have support or not before the birth, which doesn't allow her to make a fully informed decision on abortion. So I'm saying, after discovering she's pregnant, the woman has a certain amount of time to inform the father and the father has a certain amount of time to decide and…

I've always thought that could be handled in a fashion akin to notaries. If she doesn't inform him in an official manner with a third party then she has no legal recourse. Your way doesn't allow the woman to choose abortion if the man chooses to waive responsibility and I don't think that is fair.

No worries, it stands for Society for Cutting Up Men. Depends on your definition of support. We support women's rights in that we believe they should have equal rights and if they don't in some area than that is wrong. We don't support them in that we don't fight for them (as a group) because we have much bigger issues and most of society is already fighting for women's rights, or privileges. I honestly don't think they have anything significant ( or at least on the scale that we have) to fight for that is purely or even mostly a women's issue. If …

Actually it's much more appropriate to ask what if the male judge doesn't like men or what if the female judge doesn't like men effectively, what if the judge doesn't like men. Men do not have nearly as much automatic in group bias. And largely due to socialization, have bias towards females.

I see a few people who call themselves feminists (but are truly egalitarians) saying women should have equal service in the military but feminism isn't really doing anything about it. Same with the sexist attitudes. Support for women in need is good but feminism is denying support for men in need, and in greater need, because it might reduce aid for women in need.

I support both Men's Rights and Women's Rights too, by believing both should have equal/equitable rights. I do not however believe Women's Rights and feminism are the same thing. These "women's rights activism communities" are usually feminist activism communities and are usually pro things that are unfair and hurt men unjustly. When they don't, I support their position. You are definitely right about the second point. The perpetual children state is nothing like it was in the past, although I think it's still happening to a much smaller degree. Many women are also choosing to work hard and grow up which is great but at the same time many are gaining a big sense of entitlement through how they're treated in school and social situations and the legal system. I think she's pretty right about it helping with the mainstream. I personally appreciate the women in the MRM on a different level but I don't think it's an automatic bias towards them. Also just realized, I was speaking from a purely american point of view. I can't speak to the need for drafts in other countries and might be wrong about the U.S. as well. So I guess I'll just leave it at, if a country needs a draft, it should be both genders.
/r/MensRights15/03/12 07:01 AM

Yeah you're right, there is always going to be some need for an army, but the army we have now doesn't involve forcibly drafted people and is doing just fine, and probably more than needs to be done. With war technology as it is today I don't think there will ever be a need for a human army large enough to require a draft and not workable with people who join the military voluntarily. I hope that's the case at least, but could be wrong.

Besides women in general being physically weaker and thus possibly being a liability, I don't agree with many of the arguments for the inequality. It isn't fair, but personally, I think focusing on "why shouldn't women have to go to war too" aspect of it and not the "why should anyone have to go to war" part is the wrong approach. I don't think we need a draft, ever, and if we didn't have it politicians might be a little bit more careful about going to war. That's probably a little simplistic, b…

It's not all women who feel this way. I know some women who believe they should be forced to as well, or that men shouldn't be. I personally don't think anybody should be.

I have a problem with one question: "A woman should claim rape if she was pressured to have sex with a man while both were drunk" Pressured is too vague. Nagging is pressure, should it be considered rape if someone is annoyed into having sex and agrees to it? I don't think so, and I think men who answered that question easily could have been thinking nagging. It should have been split into threatening and non threatening pressure.

It's an interesting thought. It would probably help the most with circumcised men like yourself. I'll probably use the "choice" and "other people are suffering, even if you aren't" approach when discussing this issue with people in the future, but I can imagine it's hard to do that and act calm for people who have been either psychologically or physically hurt by it. I can't fault them for feeling that way.
/r/MensRights15/03/12 04:36 AM

I can understand that. I definitely don't want people who are comfortable with their circumcision to start regretting it and being told "You've been mutilated!" can be disconcerting, but at the same time, I don't think you should be calling it a non-issue or claiming people are not suffering from it either. There is real suffering coming from unwanted circumcision and it really shouldn't be forced on baby boys.

Even if you are perfectly okay with your circumcision, don't you think men deserve to have the choice for their own bodies? I think most of us are okay with people who are okay with being circumcised, but we know there are a decent amount of men who are not and wish they had the choice. I don't see why we don't deserve this choice.

I kind of agree that it's probably in large part a waste of time, but I don't think every single person in those two subreddits is unreachable. Feminism is a large movement and I think there are rational, yet misguided, people that identify as feminist and might be in those subreddits. So maybe doing things like this en masse isn't a good idea, but trying to reach people who identify as feminists could still be helpful? Agree with you completely on the polite and courteous aspect.. it sucks that…

I think the most pressing issue we face is that the world doesn't give a shit about our problems or pretends they don't exist. If we changed that, everything else would follow suit.

It's not as bad in my family, but I've never seen either of my sisters or even my brother thank my dad for the about 60+ hours a week (yep, hard working doctor, counting travel, 12+ hours a weekday and usually a few on Saturday) of work he's done for the last 30 years, but I see them make fun of him and complain and get really upset when he doesn't show "the right amount" of gratitude to my mom for what she does at home. And my mom is great and deserves the gratitude, but my dad deserves a fuckt…

What that person claims MRA's do is in fact exactly what feminists do. I'm not claiming that women don't have any issues that aren't a problem and a norm, but they latch onto pretty much everything that happens to a woman on an individual level and make it out to be an attack on women as a whole, and then turn it into "this is all men's fault!". MRAs can do the same thing, and present something that isn't a norm as one, but in my experience this is usually met with a pointing out of the fact tha…

I think I maybe had the wrong idea about PUAs? I was under the impression that they were men who knew the system was fucked, but were cool with it and used it to have lots of sex. But Roosh seems to be anything from okay with it and looks like he's more about teaching men how to "survive" the system and still get laid.

I agree completely. The problem isn't the genders of the crazy people that do these things or the genders of the victims, the problem is the level of outcry shown when these things happen to a female victims compared to male victims and how the media always highlights the importance of the female victims. Like that article earlier with 16 people dying, saying "mostly women and children" when really it was 9 children, 3 women, 4 men. That's par for the course. That's the male disposeability that …

but was told that since I wasn't going to physically hurt myself or someone else, there was nothing they could do for me. That really sucks. The first time I told my first psychiatrist about my depression and got the "are you considering hurting yourself question" I didn't know what I was doing. I was sorta, not seriously, but thought about it at times, and I told him that. He must have heard "YES I'M GOING TO KILL MYSELF RIGHT NOW" because he forced me into inpatient care at a hospital. That's a pretty interesting thought. Lots, if not all, tournaments have grounds passes that get you into all the ground level courts, and specific court passes that get you into all matches in that specific court. The men's and women's matches are mixed and the best ticket decision for you often times comes with access to matches you have no interest in, so it's quite possible some of that is going on.

Well, there's nothing wrong with preferring the women's game, just a preference. The only possibly uninformed part is that due to big increase in base line rally style of playing in the men's game, the rally length is probably pretty even, but also highly dependent on who's playing. Nowadays I can't imagine the women's game has higher ratings, but if there was ever an era where it did it'd probably be the one you mentioned in your other post. I don't have much insight into back then as I started…

You mention that women take the game far less seriously than the male players do. You fail to recognize that the women tennis players are far younger than the men, The women are on average a little bit younger, not far younger. A man's career usually goes from about 17ish to low to mid 30s. A woman's usually goes from 15ish to late 20s/low 30s. It's not such a huge difference. It could definitely have an effect on how seriously they take the game though, you're right there. I know Sharapova didn…

Women's tennis is just more marketable these days, that's all there is to it. Than men's? I don't believe so. Comparably to how other women's sports are vs. men's sports? Absolutely. I think it's pretty close in tennis but I've never seen anything showing the women's is more marketable. If you could show me proof that it is, than I'd be fine with them getting paid more. The reason women didn't have equal pay before they demanded it was because it wasn't more marketable! I don't have "proof" that…

Also, I'm pretty sure the "total prize money" stat listed on the WTA is really the TFC stat listed on the ATP. The distinction is quite often ignored. But if you look at most of the tournaments where men and women play mixed, (Indian Wells, Miami, Slams, etc), the total prize money listed on the WTA website has to actually be the TFC, because if you add the claimed WTA total prize money and the claimed ATP prize money it would be way over the claimed TFC which encapsulates everything.

Half my post was advocating for pay based on value delivered and trying to calculate a rough estimate of the difference, which I'm still working on (although taking a break right now) using the same links that you just posted. More than just "look at the numbers, they're pretty close." I would absolutely prefer value added over pay based on the amount of work, but right now it's not like that and the women are doing less work on the court (meaning not anecdotally, hours of play) and producing le…

It really isn't equal work. Most ATP (men's tennis) and WTA (women's tennis) tournaments aren't held together. The Grand Slams are combined men and women's events. Like others have said, in these events men play Best of 5 and women play Best of 3, leading to a lot more tennis for the men. Furthermore, as a huge tennis fan, I've been to and seen a lot of tennis insider shit. These men take the game way way more seriously and work way way harder. Even the most popular female commentators like Mart…

I sent him a PM about 2 hours after the last thing he posted asking him to PM me back and talk about things, but I never got a response. I'm all for discouraging the false accusations but I can't deny Druchii's point makes a lot of sense. It's true that false rape claims are so easy because there is little punishment for it, but then the same can be said about the admission of guilt. It would be almost non-existent if it came with an appropriate punishment. I fully believe the false rape accusers are monsters and deserve to be behind bars for a long time, but if the low punishment helps more innocent men than it hurts I'm for it.…

Well it's really about an equal right to choose and maintain control over one's own life. Since they don't even believe women should have a right to choose, if I argued to them that men should have an equal right to choose it wouldn't work because that to them should be an equal right to no choice.

Legal Paternal Surrender, or you might know it as financial abortion. The notion that men should have the right to choose, before a child is born, whether or not they wish to be involved with a child that is their's financially or otherwise. If you want to look into it I strongly recommend GirlWritesWhat's youtube channel, where she has four videos covering the issue.

Ah I gotcha, that makes things a lot harder. I can't even start the debate with my parents about LPS because they're religious and pro-life. I don't really know what to do with that part but if you figure it out let me know! Yeah you're right, it is an American thing and most women probably don't care. I think confronting your parents could go either way. For me, if this happened and I confronted my parents about it, the only way I would feel better is if they understood and were truly sorry, and did it because they 100% believed it was in MY best interest. You know them better than anyone here so you are the best person to judge how they'll react and whether or not confronting them would be a good idea. Even if you judge that they won't be sorry, it might be different for you. Maybe just gett…

I think that statement comes from women who believe feminist still means equality for men and women. Maybe it did once, but clearly it doesn't now. People who are ideologically for true equality/equity for both genders but still identify as feminist need to understand that that word is far too tainted and inherently biased to be used that way anymore and that we already have a much better word that isn't biased.
