I live in Canada so there isn't any events like this going on but the same powers are happening here going unnoticed, but a lot of people are very angry. I can see these types of things happening in the future as we are always a year or two behind everyone else politically. From Toronto, I see "bash fascism" posters everywhere. A wave from the South is coming apparently, it just takes a while to hit Canada.

A majority of people's friend groups are those who they meet in high school, its a good way to socialize. I thought a sub so based around learning how to talk to the opposite sex would think thats an important thing to learn at a young age.

Just because girls are there doesn't mean academics just get thrown to the side. Since kids spend more than a third of their waking hours there, and then a lot of the other time doing extracurriculars and homework, its a good place to make friends. Everyone's entire friend group is probably made up of people they meet in school at that age.
