A happily married couple with children is offensive to leftists and feminists. The state is good, poor people are good, minorities are good, sexual freedom is good. They don’t actually like ordinary people — especially the lower middle class, the strivers who believed in self-discipline and personal responsibility. They dismiss us as narrow-minded, parochial and prejudiced (unlike themselves, of course). The concept of marriage is an antiquated practice that is not needed for a more enlightened …

Also, gifted students fit into the "special education" category. I took advanced classes in school, and spent a bunch of time basically using the special ed classroom as a study hall. It depends on the state, but in most states gifted students qualify for IEPs and 504 plans. In my case, I viewed my special ed. teacher as more of an adviser helping to guide my education. We still keep in touch.

Sure there's a debate, but you can't change facts when dealing with something you want to make historically accurate. On the flip side, I was somewhat disappointed that they didn't get a Japanese actress to play Major is Ghost in The Shell.
