Moral of the story: women do not love you - they only love how you make them feel. Sounds like you connected pretty well and shared some good times, but as soon as you stopped making her feel good, her "love" dried up. The ultimate lesson here is that a woman's love is conditional. The only woman who will love you unconditionally is your mother.

I'm not blaming my job. It's obvious that I didn't have the ability to make it work out for me. The real issue is that I didn't have the self-esteem to walk away from it, even though it wasn't working out for me. I was too intimidated by my step-father's reaction to do so.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. Even now, after university, I am still trying to escape the legacy of crappy, minimum wage work in the service industry. I could've written this post back in 2013, but it's taken four years for me to confront the pain of my life and face up to what I need to do.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
