Where did he offer "secrets?" Looks more like he just wants to offer people who are interested his reading list and some workout advice.

No, but I've gotten a lot more comfortable being by myself. My stress and nervousness around women is lower and I don't hamster over every little thing that someone says or does anymore. It's also been a wake up call that I need to take much better care of myself and pursue my goals in a more diligent way, which I have been doing. And that's made me happier overall.

Help from a therapist or a life coach? I guess that's sort of more along the lines what I was thinking of instead of just a dating or pickup mentor.

You don't think spending money on a life coach or a personal trainer to pester you would provide a bit more motivation than whatever a beginner normally gets in their environment? Enough to get the ball rolling?

On the contrary, I think that if you're feeling completely hopeless in your life and have very few social skills, then spending money on mentoring might help as well. I completely agree with you about the convention though.

The belching really gets on my nerves. I'm always tempted to confront the person and ask if they can't just keep their mouth shut and then breathe in and out through their nose a few times instead of just forcing the thing out as loudly as possible.
/r/TheRedPill13/05/19 12:38 AM

Oh, that makes a lot of sense. For some reason when I read "selfie" my brain jumped to "pictures of me by myself," not necessarily to pictures of me that I took by myself on my camera phone. Activity pictures taken by others do seem like they're the best bet. I know lighting, grooming, and wearing some reasonable looking clothes is important as well. Thank you for the tips!

/r/askTRP12/05/19 09:04 PM

I'm a little bit confused about your point with the pictures. Well, I understand why gym and bathroom selfies are bad, but I don't understand the problem with selfies in general or car selfies, especially if cars are the man's primary hobby. And if there shouldn't be only selfies on the profile, what other sorts of pictures should there be? Good pictures of a group hangout with friends? What qualifies as a "good" picture if a selfie doesn't? The rest I understand completely though.

What hard work did she do? She was a Victoria's Secret underwear model. She put on underwear and got her picture taken. That's not a difficult job. I could do that. She hit the genetic lottery. Why should she be paid lots and lots of money for that?

I don't think it's low standards, I think it's a lack of guts as far as asking women out on the friend's part. OP said that the fiance was very aggressive with the relationship. She probably initiated everything and the friend probably had been sitting around waiting for somebody to do that.

Out of curiosity, how old were you when you went from being a tenor to being a bass?
/r/TheRedPill12/05/19 05:00 PM

In terms of singing, practicing songs with notes at the bottom of my register helped extend it a bit. Last semester I could barely hit an F2, this semester I can hit it with no problem and can hit an E2 and sometimes an Eb2. Taking lessons helped too. In terms of speaking voice, I left another comment on this thread with my thoughts and ideas.

I'm sure it will work, but long term, I'm not so sure it's a good idea. I don't want to sound like old Mariah Carey or old Rod Stewart or old David Lee Roth. They sounded great when they were young, but they all sound like crap now. Granted, they wouldn't have been doing this particular exercise, they would have been doing the opposite, if anything. Speaking from the chest and projecting does make a huge difference. It keeps the voice from being nasally, although I'm sure that opening up the nose a bit would also help with that. I find that making a conscious effort to relax my throat does as well. My voice is about an octave and a half lower when I do that. I find it difficult to remember to do that when I'm not alone by myself though for some reason, and I'm not completely sure why. Perhaps some sort of social anxiety stemming from Jr hig…

I'm no expert, but as a singer (a consummate amateur), stretching the vocal chords with fries sounds like a terrible idea, if you mean what I think you mean by that. Edit: I didn't realize you had 'music' in your username until now. Perhaps you are a singer as well and know more than me and can prove me wrong. One of the altos I sing with told me that she had to cover a tenor part one semester and that it messed up her voice from too much singing out of range, which I assume would have been in t…

It was on the 21 Convention YouTube channel. Not sure if it's still up. It's a 10 minute video. It starts out with him talking calmly, and ends with him holding a big rifle, yelling at the camera, and pretty much completely losing frame. He was unnecessarily disrespectful. I understand why people have problems with Richard Cooper (a lot of his videos are just him regurgitating Rolo's books), but I think he's helped a lot of men begin their journey to the pill, myself included.

That's a great way to think of anything. It sure can be hard for me to shift into that mindset though, especially after building it up in my head to be more difficult or less fun or whatever than how I should be thinking of it. Then it doesn't seem worth it so I just tend to not take action. That's how I ended up with 1 car that has a half finished stereo and 1 car that doesn't run at all.

You do make a good point. Maybe as a young man I'm a bit biased against waking up early since I didn't see an appreciable increase in productivity compared to when I wake up at 7:00. That, and I like going out with my friends late, sometimes until 3:00 am, and that's a lot more manageable when I wake up at 7:00 compared to waking up at 4:30.
/r/TheRedPill07/04/19 07:51 PM
2

That wasn't my experience. I woke up at 5:00 for a while and while I was more productive than when I would just wake up as late as humanly possibly before I needed to go out, I was no more productive waking up at 5 consistently than when I woke up at 7 consistently. Going to bed early and consistently is important though. I think waking up later is a good "buffer" for the times you want to stay up a bit later than usual.

Why does it seem like every year all of the "personal development" people advocate waking up earlier and earlier? First it was 5:30, then 5:00, and now 4:30 and 4:00. This is getting ridiculous. As long as you get up at the same time every day and go to bed at the same time every day and get however many hours of sleep you might need (7-10 hours, depending on age or if you were blessed with good genetics), it doesn't matter how early you wake up unless you want to brag like this guy. Shedding some tears in a dignified way is absolutely appropriate when a loved one dies and nobody in their right mind would lose respect for another if they cried like that after a death. Regarding number two, that awkwardness could easily be because he didn't really want to be on YouTube for all the world to see forever. I know I wouldn't be. I completely agree with the rest of your points though. And I love that General Patton quote.

This is like reading that Mars is larger than Mercury. I get it, it's a fact, but how relevant or important is knowing this information to my daily life?

Eh. I think it's good to hear the perspective of Red Pilled men when it comes to any problem. I see where the annoyance comes from, but it doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

I wouldn't be too surprised. A more practical suggestion would be to hire a therapist. Or heck, get some female friends you can work stuff out with too.

I'm not even sure the point of AWALT is that AWALT. I would say the point is to treat every woman as if AWALT. That way you're not surprised anymore when they do something "out of character," and you're always at the top of your game. There will be exceptions to AWALT of course, but why take the chance or attempt to find out? It's better overall not to.

That doesn't mean some of his advice isn't applicable. Although I don't really appreciate that he tells people to read his book 20-30 times so that the information sinks in. Who has time for that?

I used to feel bad for the incel group because I figured it was full of people who were actually involuntarily celibate. People who were disabled and physically couldn't have sex, quadriplegics, burn victims, people with ALS, that sort of thing. Turns out it's just full of regular people who are lazy.

You're describing how you think the world should work, not how it actually works. Also, the man paying child support likely doesn't have full or split custody, making foster care completely unnecessary.

The point is, most people aren't alphas and wouldn't react in that way. You can hardly blame a beta for acting like a beta if they've never known any other way to act.

There are a lot of good men's style YouTube channels. A lot of those channels have good websites too. The problem is when they start giving lifestyle and dating advice. . .

I think with the all or nothing mindset, you just really have to do nothing. And frequently remind yourself that it's worth not doing in the long run.

If Napolean said it in a conversation, my guess is that it could have also easily been a simple joke. It would be nearly impossible to know for sure, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

They talk about how we should stop saying "boys will be boys." I've never heard that phrase used in any way to justify teasing or physical abuse. That's not to say that it's never happened, but I've never heard it before in the real world in my life. I've only heard it used when boys are climbing and falling out of trees, running around, jumping in leaf piles, playing in the mud, getting filthy, and having a great time. Is any of that so bad? Edit: I cut myself while shaving with my Gillette raz…

That sounds like it might damage your vocal chords. Do you know if it would or not? I would try it, but as a singer with an already low singing voice, I'm not sure I want to risk it.

Are you referring to setting up and keeping up a spreadsheet? Or the actual going out? The spreadsheet shouldn't take more than a few minutes at most.

I play video games. I recommend cutting that out first, because those things can be way more addictive than most people would think. Porn can be very bad too, but I've never developed an addiction to it, only video games. Cut whichever one is a bigger problem for you out of your life completely. https://gamequitters.com/how-to-quit-playing-video-games/

I call it the pity party circlejerk. It's hard to acknowledge problems without wallowing when there are so many online support groups full of people with the same problems that you have that acknowledge their problems and aren't set on improving.

I didn't understand the intent behind the comment. Granted, when I skimmed the post I completely skipped over the part where he was rejected, so that doesn't help either. That part's on me. A better post or message from this story would be "rejection won't kill you, and now I know there's no reason to fear it. Time to keep that in mind for the future." But that's just me. If OP is satisfied good for him, but I would want more.

I completely agree. That's why I either skim posts like this or just click off once I realize where it's going. Reading every word of the post would not have been a good use of my time.

Check your Vitamin D3 levels! If they are under 100, you're doing it wrong. Why 100? Normal range is 30-100 ng/mL according to my doctor's office. Granted, that's what they say is "sufficient". They wouldn't be concerned unless someone's above 150. I agree that getting it checked is very important though, I was around 22. No wonder I felt like crap for so long. And even then they only said that that was "insufficient," not even deficient.

Do you remember if this was when Jordan Peterson was on in July of this year? Or a few weeks ago at the end of November? Or was it two years ago? I'm interested in seeing that clip with the context of the rest of the interview, but I'm not that interested in watching 9 hours of footage just to find it. Although, I'm sure you're not either, so I was hoping you would remember. Excuse me for sounding like an askhole.
