You've probably picked up the main point. Treat them like a person. You do want to flirt a bit and escalate when things are going well. But they want always be interested and that's ok. It's important to know that some people will really like your true self and other people simply will not like you that much and vice versa. Don't try to be all things to all people.

Good post. As with any sensible person, I've done enough research to try to get good at online dating that very little here surprises me. The one thing I didn't expect was being wary of asking too many questions. I ask specific questions related to the profile but should try to make sure the answer doesn't require much mental energy. I feel pretty good about my reply rate but it comes from always directly addressing what's in her profile and picking girls I like but who I think will also like me…

I have a close friend who was agoraphobic and shut inside his home till a couple of years ago. Now he's social, has built a life he likes and is a few months into a relationship. It definitely makes it harder. I'm a guy who's gone from really overweight to still overweight but not far above the top end of normal. Your other comments here say you're doing the right things but the weight stays on. Ideally it would come off but it's not. It would be handy to try to work on body confidence.
