Only if it’s specifically defined as such. When a court interprets vague language in a contract, they usually take the point of view of a reasonable person. If an alimony arrangement stated “half of everything” a reasonable person is going to interpret that as half of the value of everything. Even if somehow it was written as physically half of each item, After being cut in two, depending on the arguments, the court could negate that definition.
