We started as just friends and in the last few months it's shifted into more and we are meeting up in July, so if all goes well we are going to start properly dating then.

You are making perfect the enemy of the good. No one has given men such lofty numbers to follow; and being better versions of one's self means being more of a jack of all trades, certainly not a master of all, as you are claiming.

Honestly, I am of two minds here. Because I get it, I find most men, people actually, dull as dishwater. On the other hand, I also know how to make my own fun and I feel like people who complain too much of boredom and other boring people are actually the boring ones themselves and are searching for others to entertain them and pull them into a more exciting life.

Haha there was more of it with some posters that used to be active. Now, sadly not so much. Though who knew that I would get so lucky to meet a basically perfect guy in the cesspool that is PPD of all places.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/25 11:10 PM

^ So you expect him to know what the deal is after a point?... That's interesting. I would have to say, though. I do not think this is as easy as you think it is: I expect us both to know what the deal is after a point; yes, there can be some minimal directing involved every now and again, but one is supposed to learn and discover their partner, know them intimately the way you know them mentally and emotionally. ^ Maybe after the fact (sex), but not before. I really hate when people make such a…

That man is not nearly good looking enough to be waving such red flags. Please, don't lower the standards for us all 😭
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/25 11:07 AM

Women don't like a man that would simp for women or any woman, but most like their man simping for them, prefer it in fact.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/25 11:02 AM

Currently have no experience, but at least half of it is mental. Also, it's not that hard to ascertain which men get turned on by pleasing women, e.g. if he is enthusiastic about going down and non-egoic, willing to listen which actions feel good, we'll both have a good time. I have no issues directing a man and I would expect some feedback in the form of dirty talk to make it both hot and more pleasurable for him back as well, but I do not want to direct a man forever, after a few months I expe…

Oh my lived experience has led me to believe that pink pill applies for most hetero couples, but that statistically a smaller percentage of couples can still find compatibility and true satisfaction. Overall, I'm leaning more fds than that.

Lamo, as opposed to your own word salad? How about that you don't even understand the female fantasy and that you consequently made a grotesque caricature of it to suit your own silly rantings? It is evident that the core components are beyond your understanding, which I suspect is because you haven't actually attempted to observe or study it unbiasedly before talking out of your ass. That doesn't surprise me, men love to pontificate even when they lack a required rudimentary understading of som…

And you didn't counter a single point, but tried to reduce mine to a strawman, yet again. Come on, sweetheart, try harder, your pattern is showing. If this is truly your best attempt at a bon mot, no wonder you are so fired up about the female love of charming Chad, so I shall take it in the spirit of your reality 😘

Yes, the protagonist is usually leaning more passive, but the point of them is the explosive connection with the man of their dreams. Once the begining hurdles are overcome they have great sex, great and fun dates, deep and open talks, mutual understanding and devotion, so assuming he is a one-woman man that takes care of chasing for both.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/25 08:27 PM
2

Ah yes, the classic “both sides are the same” cope, conveniently ignoring how power structures actually work. Lol, what a dumb strawman. No, deluded women don’t desire just a 'deeply invested' partner, no more than deluded men desire just 'casually permissive' partners. They desire an alpha orbiter; a HVM who will worship her as his personal goddess and devote his entire life to her pleasure and happiness." Lol, correcting your pompus treatise and bringing it back to the basics does not a strawm…
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/25 08:18 PM

I understand, that does quite change things. He may be just the right kind of partner that is not bothered by your own monetary contributions if he has more than enough on his own and thus understands that you can contribute in many other ways. I hope it works out for you :)
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/25 07:25 PM
1

I think it can depend on if this is a temporary or a permanent situation for you. Men and women alike are a lot more understanding if the earning potential of their potential SO is likely to be increased in the future.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/25 07:11 PM
5

Ah yes, because wanting one deeply invested partner is exactly as delusional as wanting an entire harem of submissive women. The difference? Men’s fantasy erases female agency, women in their “harem” are objects, interchangeable and devoted by default. Meanwhile, the so-called "Chad obsession" fantasy still requires mutual emotional investment. One is a power imbalance, the other is just a desire for reciprocal passion. Learn the difference.

Nothing bad and unfixable, that's actually good news. I know it sucks for now, but imagine yourself 20-30 years in the future with more life wisdom yet wishing you didn't waste your younger years. Imagine you looking back and thinking how lucky you were and you didn't even know it. Let go of blackpill, that makes us all self-sabotage unnecessarily. I hope you find your cute young woman in the not too distant future :)
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 01:14 AM

Yeah but have you tried sussing out why? At least part of it is surely fixable.

With your lacking success with your looksmatch?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 12:58 AM

Height like that is a little boost, but not jumping over canyons level boost. Even it can mean nothing if the proportions are off, e.g. really long torso and stubby legs. I shouldn't have to be begging my looksmatch to date me, she should be doing it instead. No one should be begging anyone to date them as that means attraction is just not there and even if magically you stay together deadbedrooms are going to await you in the future. I'm curious, leaving general demeanor to the side for the mom…

His flaws are the snub nose and the recessed looking chin he is hiding behind that beard. She has awful eyebrows and also something is a bit off about either her mid face or lower face, I'm leaning lower face. They match face wise.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 12:45 AM
0

Because height is expected of men, so it's neutral. By and large women understand that plastic surgery is the only fix for facial unattractiveness, so what's holding men back?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 12:38 AM
1

That's basically my height and average male height is 6'0 where I'm from. Maybe I can't be the best judge of that. That said, that's not how that works, you can be tall and ugly, doesn't mean you are in the top 20% of attractiveness. To get the number you need to do a weighted average as face is quite a bit more important than height, unless we are talking extreme ends of the spectrum.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 12:32 AM
1

The fact you are obsessed with bigger boobs doesn't mean everyone is. We are not looking at individual parts, but an overall body. So bigger boobs are a plus for most, but not having them is neutral. If you are nitpicking we could also look at his dick, ass, legs etc. But to conclude, if she has a good face, yes she is looksmatched. Also, to you height-challenged Americans, 6'0 is a neutral height, on the tallish side, but by no means noticeably tall.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/01/25 12:15 AM
1

No, his three strands of hair are of superb quality while her outdated birds nest marks her as below average at first glance. He is handsomely slim while she is flat and too narrow-eyed. Also, eww big feet and hands on a woman. The despairingly low standards today's Chadlites have to accept are really demoralizing 😞
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/25 11:59 PM
2

Lol he is beardfishing, his jaw looks slightly recessed from this angle. That's a neutral height, and he is probably 5'10.5 with the way men round that up. I think he would deserve a slim thick Latina that has a huge bum and boobs, with fuller lips. Sure, a cute guy would deserve a bombshell. Have fun living in delulu land
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/25 11:51 PM
1

We are not rating men to put them down, we are doing so based on attraction. And while his looks are inoffensive and on the cute side, he can't pull without personality and rizz. Sure they'd be. Being tall for a man is neutral, short is a minus. Fit is a plus tho.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/25 11:46 PM
1

That's just because women on average put in more effort than men when it comes to looks. One of the hottest out of a hundred? Lol. He is like a strong 6 facially. She is around it too. Now if he was tall and fit it may bring him a point above, but no way is any woman giving him casually a second glance.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/25 11:22 PM
1

Hotter? Based on what?? Men really suck at telling what appeals to women
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/25 11:00 PM
1

Agree on the rest, but not buccal fat removal. I'd say it's pretty obvious jaw and chin implants in her case and that makes her look more defined. She didn't have that jawline nor those gonial angles before. It is also possible she had filler injected instead of implants, but that is not a smart long-term solution.

Look, women from my city and county are infamously known as domineering, bossy and the opposite of passive. That's all I've ever known, so please explain to me how location doesn't play a part. Also, no need to censure my username lol

Q4A: How important do you think (emotional) stability and security is for women's satisfaction in relationships? I wonder if male and female answers will differ.

Now you know how women feel. Also, you'll get over it
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/25 05:55 PM

Was that previous gf early 20s at the time maybe? I've already accounted for inexperience. Lots of women don't realise that most men aren't sensitive and can take criticism. We'd actually like some feedback to improve. Probably there is a big enough percentage of such cases. But these things also usually iron themselves out in time, they are natural hiccups of new relationships where maybe the comfort level is not yet established. If they don't tho, that's a bad sign.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/25 05:54 PM

It's seriously not where I'm from, so, yes, it is location dependent lol.

But they are listening to find out how to get women, which is basically a component of what turns women on. I doubt that there is a significant number of hate watchers, I think most of them drop off with time.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/25 05:45 PM

I've never said communicating, but independent research. Even still, I'd argue only really inexperienced or passive women are bad at communicating, the rest, not so much.

Fashion does't help below average men, true. Granted it is also not a single solution, but fashion is one of the things that helps average and above average men shine more compared to their peers. It's similar to natural makeup for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/25 05:34 PM
4

Why do men generally suck so much at understanding what turns women on and how to bring us off? And why are they usually listening to male grifters who are at best only partially-right instead of just looking into what women read and watch??

That was something I worried about when I was with my first girlfriend too, but I was worried over nothing. Good to hear, reassuring even. These things are distinctly happening to someone else, not to me, which I guess helps distance my own sexuality from it. That makes sense. I was never fond of reading any kind of first person stories, erotica included, for a similar reason.

One thing I was careful with myself about was not getting desentisized to most degenerate fetishes as I find a lot of them morally repugnant, as well as believe they would impair my ability to have a happy and fulfilled sex life with a partner down the line. That said, I get it, I hope they didn't affect you and you were able to make money off them. and I'd have to see his writing first! Maybe he's got the touch, lol! Style is one of the mating calls of quality. Higher status men know how to dress well and occasion appropriate, and it is one of the easier ways to scan for socioeconomic compatibility and ambition in men. I find all of this Chad obsession baffling, as an average/above average man who's visibly worked on himself and improved is the one majority of desirable women find highly appealing.

This is like the Women who think a Man paying on a date means he wants to take care of her No one smart thinks it proves that, just that the one who will not pay for his date absolutely will not take care of her. Having the flu or a period is a short timeframe and intense. This is not a rule. It's just an observation that if he can't hold out a week or two without being snappy or trying to push you into a BJ as soon as you feel a little better, it's a bad sign for the future, and one a woman sho…

Can be a more time thing, if one wishes for more than one child. Regardless, it's a thing that lasts a good while, as well as produces a baby which also reduces the frequency for some time at least. A man must prioritise your needs over his. I said a man must choose my needs over his wants, which is true in reverse too, but that wasn't relevant to the example at hand.

Instead of these silly test you can straight up tell him you're planning to dead bedroom him somewhere in the future, that'll save you both some time, lol No tests, just observation. Also, women not being able to perform sexually for a few months postpartum does not a deadbedroom make lol. Shockingly sometimes it starts even sooner, in the last trimester as it's medically necessary to abstain due to a high-risk pregnancy. Well, that's an interesting dynamic you are looking for Do tell, how so?

I'm glad to hear it was both a positive experience as well as that it was an acute thing that passed, even when so serious. Mine had been hit and miss, but you are right they broaden your perspective when you manage to connect with others dealing with similar issues too.

There is no hard and fast rule. I think this mostly is valid when you are actually spending time together and are in each other's space so he is also reminded of it (I hope whatever it was the hospital stay helped and you are doing well now, as I know how unpleasant they can be). I'd say it's also libido dependant, it's different for those who like having sex daily vs say those who are into it once weekly. It doesn't have to be a period at all, it can be an illness, horribly stressul time at work, grief, whatever, something that is going to leave you unable to engage sexually for a little while. If he is not supportive, but keeps brining up when you'll feel up for sex, you have your answer.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/25 11:37 PM
2

Yes!! I ghosted multiple men for how they acted when I was on my period. Exactly, as it should be done!! Like you may think it's not big deal that he is whiny and sulky baby about it now, but imagine how that irritability is going to grow once he has to endure months without or even a longer period of draught. We must always think ahead and never saddle ourselves down with men whose first consideration are their own wants over our needs.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/25 11:30 PM
4

Vetting a man's behaviour during your period, illness or generally a tougher phase in your life, anything that potentially inconveniences him, is the best predictor of his potential future cheating/unhelpfulness postpartum or even likelihood to leave his chronically, or terminally ill wife. The signs will be smaller and thus more easily brushed aside, but they will almost certainly be there.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/25 11:19 PM

Depends on what kind of submissive he is, I'm into taking charge and being somewhat domineering in bed, so that's actually a plus for me. That said, I wouldn't want it all the time, being a switch is where it's at.

A great example of male black and white thinking in action. I have said generosity of spirit, is that beyond your understanding, as well as beyond your reading comprehension? Sure, he does look above average, but I'm saying that a lot of his appeal is carefully curated, which honestly proprs to him for. But bundle him up and remove the peacocking performance and I'd not be even a little tempted seeing him in a casual setting.

Some women don't like it, but that's what vetting is for. Picking an unemphatetic woman and complaining as if you've had no choice in the matter truly boggles the mind. The answer is simple, leave her. On the other hand, a lot of men often engage in black and white thinking. There was a guy who I cared a lot for who became more and more self-destructive and who expected me to be there to pick up the pieces and console him after. Once I left him he was shocked, and has since claimed that he can't…

Why are you catastrophizing that the marriage is in jeopardy at the first sign of trouble? How do you know the woman in question hasn't brought it up before, that it hasn't been something she has struggled with and communicated to him over the years? You cannot know, but you still answered these questions to yourself with answers that align with the stance you've already taken. As a Catholic woman, my values are non negotionable. In such an imaginary scenario, even where I would find a guy attractive, I'd never go through with it. Wanting something a little in the moment doesn't invalidate wanting other thing harder through all other moments. Frankly, I'd think less of a man who tried to pull something like that off, because that implies he doesn't respect me as a person.

Neither do you have evidence of presupposition that women were happy with their societal role and status in 1950s. Tbf neither position is easy to defend as psychological studies of the time largely weren't focused on such a thing. Here's the artice from which that quote was derived: Francis, Andrew (2013). Show proof that most women at that time were unhappy in their relationship. You show proof they were happy. There is the Rolling Stones song, Mother's litte helper, which wouldn't have been so popular at the time if the sentiment expressed didn't ring true. They were drugged out of their minds to cope, usually with barbiturates and diazepam. Sure seems like something a happy person would do. Besides, here's a quote from wiki: "Indicators of non-traditional sexual behavior (e.g., gonorrhea incide…

Oh I absolutely agree about statistics, there are many limitations, caveats and possible reasonings behind actions that are often neither understood nor represented. Thanks for the link, I'm looking into it. It is evident the gap is quite a bit smaller than previously thought and resources should be advertised and provided for both genders.

This is clearly a cherry picked and biased interpretation of statistics (where did they get the 31% from, I don't know); but even disregarding that, incidence of male on female abuse isn't lower than the opposite per your own linked source. For men in heterosexual relationships the percentages are as follows: * Slapped, pushed, or shoved - 26.3% * Any severe physical violence - 13.9 % * Total - 40.2% For women in heterosexual relationships: * Slapped, pushed, or shoved - 29.8% * Any severe physi…

There is a difference between using something as a mean or seeing it as a goal. Of course there is, you're right, but working backwards from effect to cause, someone who cares about that as a goal, should know that all things being equal, that's what must likely to yield desirable results. Because those are inevitable. Agreed, but they usually fly in the face of consistency. Men don't tend to value those traits that much. Men who seek that elusive more and aren't satisfied with the bare minimum …

Not my issue. I still want my partner's best as defined by her past. Yeah I got it. Though it seems to me it's just not wanting to be settled for with extra steps. Functionally that's what most would do for the love of their life, so even if the feelings don't matter to you, for the other party to maintain it that's what's usually required. Maturity. Social skills. Confidence. But how can someone have maturity if growth and change are not encouraged? Anecdotally and in my experience an average w…

Everything I have done for, done with or tolerated from previous partners becomes base treatment for the next one. It is called consistency. Yes, that is your watchword, I've seen. But consistency is such a weird hat to pick for most people. So you never have a bad relationship, where you learned something from it and didn't want to repeat those patterns? You have a really flawed view of relationships and getting to experience someone's best. People change, grow and evolve throught years and molds into which they used to fit now no longer work. Pushing someone to fit into the same mold as their past self, the one they've outgrown or discarded, is impending that growth. If they've been their worst self with someone previously, making them dwell on it and relive it is not getting any kind of best anything as results.

It is not realistic at all. Most women in heterosexual relationships desire their partners. Where I will concede is that women on average have a higher disgust treshold than men, so that can attribute to women having negative visceral reaction to some men or some action that a man did. Though as women have less and less trouble leaving relationships that aren't working for them, when they stay it is as good of a reassurance as any that they love and want their partners (in most cases of course).

IVF process also lasts and they likely would have been trying that way anywhere from 30-32. Then you have to try naturally for at least a year for the doctors to start testing and treating for infertility. So she would have started trying in her late twenties most probably, and that's not someone who was smacked with it in the face at 36 🙄

Another thing is she very likely can't use those embryos because ex would have to give permission and most ex partners wouldn't do that. I think that's her big issue, she doesn't have the money to try more and the embryos she makes now are probably less viable. The ones she could have had back then she doesn't have the access to anymore, even were she to get the money rn (and that is also out of her reach).

It has to do with intelligence, both IQ and EQ, tho EQ is more important here. It has to do with pattern recognition, awareness and emotional maturity. There is many, like the expectation for men to peacock and woo the women shortterm as well as longterm, without adequate reciprocity encouraged in return. The blame that gets put on men when an individual guy fucks it up, from something as comparatively small as breakups that leads to trashing of the male gender as a whole in name of comfort. Why does that matter tho, as long as one doesn't go overboard? Women care more about their appearnace, I do agree, but I consider that a good thing (within reason of course, there are many cautionary tales). After all, working on improving oneself, appearnace and plastic surgery very much included, is merely a part of being a well-rounded individual and attracting a partner one finds desirable. If men are struggling, there is always women's example to try and follow.

/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/22 07:13 PM

Of course confidence is very important and it's never a bad idea to commit to a way of getting more of it, lifting very much included. There is a reason why women like confidence, it heavily implies competence, which is just as important to women as it means someone knows how to get by in the world and excell at it. There are many other ways to get more confident as there are many other ways to get more competent, lifting is not necessarily the only way.

Look, I can tell you didn't understand what I or other women have been trying to say as you didn't address any of my arguments correctly. I never claimed that being muscular and lifting aren't good for you. To expand and clarify, my argument is that when overweight and obese men slim down to their optimal weight, that's where majority of their glow up comes from. It's not the muscles, it's the being in visibly good shape that make them more popular with women. Muscles can help a bit, so they are…

I said "easiest" for a reason. It's "easiest" in the sense it's the most widely achievable advice given to an otherwise relatively healthy individual, naturally only if one only has the organization, dedication, self-discipline plus a little money down. Looksmaxxing, sense of style/fashion and the way you present yourself also matter. Lifting is the least helpful, but is the most promoted because it's the "easiest" to attain. They were told before, nowadays the situation is different. Also, yes most women want a partner they can conceivably have kids with, but that won't help some that are not even close to the bar. Honestly, my controversial opinion is that, apart from gym, plastic surgery may be the answer in a lot of these cases of near misses if one can assess one's strengths and deficiencies relatively objectively and only if it would lead to a net gain obviously.

How so? By all the ways I numbered already. I though they did all those things for themselves, not to attract thisty men It is mostly for themselves and also to attract the right guy. Yeah he won't be for every average woman that's true, there still are preferences on both sides. Allow me to go on a tangent about the 80/20 rule of all things. An individual woman will find about 20% or less men in her "league" or thereabouts attractive, the lucky ones that correspond in some way to a traits that her type possesses. The ones that are universally hot and are above her will mean that that percentage grows, but the same is true for men. Hot people are indeed conventionally attract…

I think it's splendid and absolutely commend their efforts. My point was that an in shape guy, that has an okay job, whether it's blue or white collar, that also dresses nicely and maybe wore braces or took steps to cure his acne here is considered above average and thus proof that women want above average men (which if so, yes). So either average man does it, or average man is overweight, has let himself go, lowish income, and dresses kind of sloppily. The average man can't be both.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/22 11:49 PM

Yes, men are thirstier and so approach more, but women try more. They buy push up bars, wear makeup, paint their nails or put on fake ones, wear flattering clothing, dye their hair, curl or straighten their hair, remove their body hair, straighten their teeth, whiten their teeth, get plastic surgery much more. Even the unconventially attractive women do it and raise themselves up. Men on average are more content to wallow in mediocrity and don't try as much.

Look, I'm not here to say an average woman has no place to improve, she does quite a bit indubitably. That's because an average man has become unattractive; out of shape, a recluse, usually too attached to porn and video games to learn how to socialize with women, with teeth and skin that he doesn't care to improve, a sloppy dresser and so on. Some women may want the best, but most women would be really happy with the version of an average guy that has worked on to become his best self, which is an absolutely normal thing. If an average guy was 5'8" to 5'10", in shape, maybe cared to wear braces…

You are right, he is definitely well above average overall. But mcdonalds employees to my understanding don't have the money for sugar babies or transactional relationships anyway, so for those, you are probably looking at guys who do relatively well financially in any case. And I'm just saying that if those men enrich other aspects of their lives a bit, they can absolutely find happiness in successfully pursuing whatever relationships they like, like my uncle did. Oh yes, they both love each ot…

Well it depends. I know a case where it works, my aunt and uncle, and they are the happiest dysfunctional couple I know. My uncle is not at all bad looking, it's just that she is better looking (an example for easier visualization with the celebrities they most resemble, it's as if Bruce Willis got Margot Robbie; a Margot Robbie that's an acceptable 7 years younger, but looks as if she is actually 15 years younger and is an accomplished doctor). That said, my uncle is very much a manly man, he i…

Yeah I agree. I don't think majority of either men or women are like that. But it's not just crying. I have friends who dated guys that were depressed and they broke up with them after a few months because they would drag their depression into most, if not all of their hangouts and fun times became scarce. I also kind of know a few women emotional vampires, so it's not just men that can be like that.

Well I mostly "judge" others based on myself and most of the women I know behave similarly. Basically, if it deviates too much from what my response would have been too frequently to willfully ignore I'd get uncomfortable and have to reevaluate. It might just be that my mum would get angry at us when we cried as kids, so anyone wallowing is not my thing. That said, occasionally needing reassurance and a shoulder to cry on for out of the ordinary stuff is more than fine, but when it is for regula…

Yeah, I think I accidentally dissed the guy too hard when that wasn't my intention and when I agree with you that he is in fact quite decently attractive. The first photo shows how easily he cleans up with minimal effort (I know you could say the same for the girl but to me not as much. plus makeup ect.) Agreed, he really does. I just really don't get it why people when minimal effort is needed for very attainable and maintainable goals don't try to go for it. Also yes, she does wear makeup, but…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/22 07:54 PM

Nah he wouldn't. As a woman I can tell you he isn't attractive at a first glance, he may be able to add to it with charisma or smth else, tho I quite doubt it since his posture noticably sucks through all the photos which indicates he is not full of confidence, so he almost certainly very much lacks in the raw attraction department. But, as I've said, he has potential, so he can get there.

Yes, she is in the first picture, tho she doesn't look to have any or maybe just barely any in the second picture. And as a woman very familar with makeup, I can also tell she is okay, but not great at it, her makeup style ages her. She is not great at hairstyling either. I look at both the face and the body on both of them to be able to tell fairly. She has better body than him and arguably even a better face; her imperfections are mostly her eyebrows being far apart and slightly her nose (I'd …

Ahh but that's a totally different argument. You changed it from women shouldn't be able to vote to there has been no successful matriarchy. Which is also not true, there is a woman prime minister in New Zealand, there is a woman prime minister in Finland and those countries are doing just fine, just at the top of my head. There have also been many queens in history during whose reign there was prosperity (Elizabeth the 1st, Victoria, Isabella of Castille, Catherine the Great) and even a woman k…

Dear Lord, read it again. You are of the opinion that women are more emotional on average, so they all shouldn't be able to vote. Now, that's very easy to counter, you yourself admit that men are more aggressive, which comes from emotions they can't control, meaning that men are more emotional where it counts, with their tendency towards destructive emotions. Now since you want consequences for the whole gender based on a belief of yours, that's as extreme as e.g. someone suggesting that all men…

Of course she is appalled because you basically said that you think we should all lose our right to vote. Regardless of if your baseless observations have merit or what would the implications be, you want consequences for them. Also, the example of you saying you wouldn't have issues if someone stated that men are more aggressive is a false equivalence on 2 counts; firstly, because the consequences on a societal level are not suggested after that, can you imagine if something like men should all…

It's not at all unlikely it happens online, most of my friends and I very much included found a relationship that way. Also, aren't good options straight out of relationships usually not looking for anything for a little while and a good number of the ones that are actively looking are actually looking more for something casual? Hence, they will use other apps for that and maybe even accidentally find a great connection and a LTR along the way. So I'd imagine that most of the good options still …

Yes, but in my experience observing both men and women around me, most of the ones that are semi-catches to catches and are actively looking for a LTR find one in an acceptable time frame. Besides, people always prefer the path of least resistance and smth like what you are describing is not exactly a quick, easy fix. So the ones that are doing fine on typical OLD or in general won't have the incentive to switch. The ones that are doing poorly on the other hand will be more likely to try it, but…

It sounds too convoluted and time consuming, so for that reason it doesn't sound like it would make it big imo. It would also likely mostly attract people who didn't have luck on traditional dating apps and irl, because generally attractive decently smart people don't keep failing at both, which would ultimately mean lower quality matches and no one would want to use it.

It proves that he has no wit, maturity or the emotional bandwith to handle the situation without escalating it and getting out of it as a clear victor. You'll get no argument from me there lol Hahah a woman of culture I see ;) The reason I say it's objectively halfassing it to read spoilers when it't an agreed co-watch is because a significant part of doing a shared activity is getting to see and revel in each other's emotions. Yeah I got that and I don't mind you disagreeing or sharing your different opinion at all. That said, people have all kinds of qualifications and expectations for shared experiences and mine don't trump yours or vice versa. I still don't see how wanting to experience content through more than one media is halfassing anything. Allow me to counter, I'd say that just watching a show when there are books to be read about it as well is much closer to halfassing it.

Well possibly. But the cameras do pan to the people being teased to catch their reactions and he could have done it then, so I'd say there is a chance stronger than mere hope they would have caught it. Haha I feel like my answer won't be satisfactory as it's a bit needlessly pedantic. Oh no, he watched it all the way. Tho if he starts watching the show first, he won't reads books about it until the show is finished (he won't read ASoIAF books as they aren't done). Especially if starting the anime was what he was very much into - more so than you. Why does he have to be into something more than me? If I'm reading fanfiction about it, that means I'm very into it. I do get most out of the show, mine is just a different approach. My husband doesn’t understand it, but he’s ok with it as long as I don’t spoil it for him. Yeah that sounds reasonable and is very much the philospohy I keep too. Oh yes, I'm the same way! Well upset is a strong word for it. I know that he'd prefer I didn't, so he is mostly like playfully whining about how could I lol. He is generally very anti spoilers as well as praticularly in this case because that's his favourite show.

Nah your experience is quite common. Women love having male friends in my experience. It can be like having foreign friends a bit in that you can pick their brain for different perspective as well as that you are not surrounded by yes men ironically enough, but it's also almost a status symbol sometimes (so much so, I'm not surprised that men complain about friendzone all the time).

Eh well, yes that is a part of it, but quite a bit more importantly, it also works in reverse. If someone that passed the threshold is amazing at things you respect/admire/like that can still make you absolutely and passionately crazy about them. Since most people are average to averagely above average, that's how attraction and attachment functions for us all. Thus, working on being the most desirable match you can be by using some curated and clever strategizing is never the wrong choice and s…

Yes, that study did. And about 1/4 to 1/3 of women did it between two studies. Which fair, those women suck and men should be aware of the phenomenon so they can act accordingly. Alas, there is a not an insignificant percentage of both genders who suck in similar ways, so that wasn't surprising or news to me. In any case, it shouldn't be so alarming if one applies risk minimasing techniques and works on refining one's picker to be able to recognise and avoid the undesirable candidates.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/22 10:25 AM

Well, part of that is because women are socialised to give a man a chance if there is nothing outwardly objectionable about the guy, plus most of the times the romantic interests takes a little while to develop for women, especially so if you just met and don't actually know someone. Hence, I'd argue that women feeling neutral and accepting dates to see how they'd feel after happens much much more than women having any kind of crush pre-date in general. Now I'm not saying the practice is in any …

Yes, same here! We usually just take turn paying for stuff and it comes out about the same in the end. I prefer it cause in my experience it fosters the spirits of generosity and camaraderie. and I always pay when I suggest going somewhere and/or asking someone out Right, same here. And if someone is kind of tight on money there is always an option of just inviting everyone over to their home/park for a picnic, getting some snacks and pizzas and making your own cake, in case of a birthday.

Does that mean you expect both the birthday presents and for the guests to pay for themselves? Cause if so, yikes. If someone takes the time to invite you to a scheduled party and you still expect them to pay for your meal, on their birthday, you probably will not be invited to many more. I've just been inv…

But it's your party and you are inviting people. It's not really fair that someone pays for you since it might not be to their tastes as they had no input in picking the place. Plus you would have to pay approximately the same amount for the other people's birthdays through out the year, this way it's just in one go and you don't have to constantly keep it in mind budget wise. Not to forget, if you get presents, any additional payment would be ridiculous.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/22 09:43 AM

Imagine I have a small birthday dinner and invite my close buds, then PAY for them on top of that. That's so funny to me, cause that's exactly how it works in my part of the world, i.e. the birthday person pays for everyone. I do vastly prefer it our way, so I don't get the outrage.

Western values are mostly individualistic in nature. So wouldn't you say that you also don't seem to align that well with western values? Survival of the fittest applies here rather well and it's what's going to happen. The world will find a way to progess once more, even if it slides back for a little bit. Such things are rarely linear and in any case, in time everything and everyone either evolves or perishes.

She never said it doesn't matter to her, in fact she said that she doesn't like it, but that they shouldn't be shamed for it on a societal level. That's a completely different thing. I think that's wrong in several ways. I do agree with a few of your points and you do have good insights, but this one is just wrong. Men gas them up too for the same reason (don't believe me, check out the amihot, amiugly etc subreddits). It is a socially acceptable simple kindness that takes someone a few seconds and makes them feel charitable and like a nice person without doing any actual charity. It's partly kind, but mostly self-serving, at least in the case of someone going out of their way to do it. It's different when put on the spot as no one wants to be the bearer of bad news. Those who enjoy that too much are moral…

Yes, it really does. But since a lot of the people are followers who don't have a grand vision of their own, those who do have one really stand out. Having a brand/type of your own in terms of aesthetics is also very important and can go a long way in charming the opposite sex into liking and wanting to date you.

I'm mid twenties and depends on a pretty boy, Timothée Chalamet, youngish Brad Pitt, David Bowie, MGK yes. One Direction and JB no. The whole look is important, if they carry it well, so e.g. I think Adam Driver is very attractive too. Hair midlength is kind of perfect, but if they can pull of Legolas hair it's a point in their favour too lol. I think redpillers are not wrong, some women do prefer that look, but it's nowhere close to AWALT, not even a MWALT imo.

TRP do not mind being a nice placeholder and being in casual relationships with women. It's actually the goal for many. Oh yes, I know, TRP has made it very clear over the years. And there is going to be some women like that too, but they are in a minority, so it's an understandable thing that FDS is in the lets learn how to avoid this scenario club. It's rather silly for people to assume that women in FDS do not have options already available to them. You can't vet men if you got no men. Agreed…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/22 11:01 AM

FDS opperates under seemingly truthful observation that men (or at least desirable men) more often than not have a type and if you are relatively close to it, you are in; then again if you are the opposite of it, you are out of the running for a lifelong commitment, but can still be a nice placeholder. The latter is obviously unappealing to anyone who doesn't want a casual relationship. That's why FDS doesn't give advice about attracting someone who is not into you, it's very much swimming again…

But bad can come from this hurt. Of course, you are not wrong. And breaks, whether temporary or permanent, can be useful if someone notices ill-effects on their mental health and outlook on life. I'm at the point of looking at it through a classic Schmosby kind of way with quite a few regulars, so it really doesn't bother me. Also, I mostly lurk, so that helps. Much appreciated, because I'll need it, lol Lol don't we all. Cheers mate!

Nah listen, I don't disagree that people are easily led and influenced and that can become a problem, with subs like this doubly so, but some of us enjoy flammable topics, people watching and different perspectives and know how to be divorced from our ego and don't let what others write poison our thoughts. Besides, it has been helpful, it has helped me empathise with male perspective quite a bit more, so I'd say that for me it has been a net positive. It has also humanised the internet users fr…

A few inches taller than me ideally, so 180/5'11"+, couldn't care less about a particularly strong jaw/chin, but not recessed. I'm a sucker for a nice smile (currently wearing braces myself lol) glasses and hands. I prefer non-short tousled hair, strongish shoulders and lanky look (abs do nothing for me), but it's by no means a requirement. Apart from lanky, my ldr is all that with heartmelting bonus dimples (tho I may have to cross hair from the list, but since my bro is also losing his I've be…

They all sound not good as long term options (except maybe woman #1), but guy #2 sounds positively the worst imo. Everyone else has a passion, a drive, whether that's their social life, career, health or beauty related (8-9 woman must have maintenance rituals for her to ping as consistently stunning). Everyone else is living their life on their own terms and that is attractive. The women #1 and #2, and the guy #1 don't appear to have a place or a temperament needed (excepting woman #1) for a ser…

This goes to show that, if you're a guy, people simply HATE the idea of you taking the initiative to improve your own prospects. It is both a good observation, a good point and fair enough. I don't disagree. But I have noticed the same thing with women too, you have to stay in your lane so to speak. There is barely concealed vitriol if you dare improve, and heaven help you if it's in the form of makeup/surgery/weight loss. There exist both men and women that will find ways to constantly bring it…

See, I very much agree that there is exactly the thing you mentioned, people, women imcluded are having a disproprtionate reaction to his post and ascribing to it all kinds of made up things, exaggerations meant to scare him off as well as going on the offensive. It is both absurd and appalling. I just disagree with you that it has anything to do with the "Woman are wonderful" affect. It's anecdotal, but I have seen people having a very similar reaction on comments and posts made in gender rever…

I do love the 2005 version, but I also love 1980 and 1995 versions too, tho 1995 is my favourite of the 3. Oh yes, both Bingley and Jane as characters, and their story are just so endearingly beautiful. The focus is not on them, so we don't get enough, but what we do see is very charming and arresting. It does feel like a more realistic bridge to Lizzy's and Darcy's more fantastical story arc, as you've said. Also I dont just love the romance between the leads, I love the other characters (one o…

Yes, I very much agree. Poor girl, may she rest in peace. That is truly the stuff of nightmares, and the other is simply death, which eventually comes for us all. And even the law recognises the severity between manslaughter and first/second degree murder, so it's so much more serious then "just" the act of taking someone's life.

Pride and Prejudice is my number one pick, regency era enemies to friends to lovers best story. And not just for Mr Darcy who is brooding, yet fair, gallant, capable of introspection, growth, and most importantly with a heart of gold, but because I'd really like to experince the falling in love while attending balls under the enchanting and flattering golden hue of candlelight, where entire sentences filled with longing are spoken in stolen glances and mere accidental brushes of hand are electri…

Fair enough that they are. But look at it through the lens of half the population is below the median intelligence in IQ, and who even knows about EQ, but I'd wager that the results are not too dissimilar. My point being that intellectually and emotionally dumb people exist and make a significant percentage of population. In the wise words of Forrest Gump: "stupid is as stupid does". And dumb people will always behave in dumb ways and misrepresent the group that they belong to. I guess because t…

Lol look at who is downvoting now. And women can communicate however they like, if you are not well versed in nuance and subtlety, that's your own problem to solve. And mind you, it's a problem. As if anyone's stopping you saying whatever you like. Some women do that yes. But I found that usually like attracts like, so if that's all the experience with women you have, maybe you should work on your picker and yourself, and maybe, just maybe you'll see some better results.

Of course no guy consciously wants it, I completely get that. But then you have men who supposedly don't want it going and asking women to give a guy she is largely indifferent towards a chance because he is a "good guy". How do you think betabux arrangements happen? They happen because some men manage to wear down some women and then proceed to ignore the signals that she is just not that into him. The vast majority of the people cannot hide their true feelings long term, so I guarantee you the…

I apologize, you are right, it temporarily slipped my mind what sub I was on, but I have rectified it now. Thanks for reminding me. I'm of the opinion that settling just breads misery. I do agree that it's at least a partially self-inflicted state and that some women indeed behav…

Lol no offense, but yours is exactly the post that disproves OPs hypothesis. He says men are not looking for bangmaids, and here you go in all your brightly shining glory going, but a bangmaid is how I feel loved. I mean sure, you do you mate, but the irony is delicious. And yes, some women do indeed want for no one to ask them for any initiative or accountability, alas some men are very much in want of a bangmaid, as their actions keep demonstrating.

Yes, rarely is it needed, active listening with some minimal prompting does the job very well. And you are right about the plausible deniability, that is one of the favourite techniques of many men when dating. It's just that I've encountered a subsequent overlapping minority that have taken plausible deniability to another level. My lovely and intelligent friend is enamoured with one such man. She was a bit too direct and gave away all her cards, so all he needed to do was say that he was searc…

You are a good egg. I too would answer honestly, because I don't mind either way. The point I'm not sure I successfully made was not about either you or me or many other people who would also be truthful, it's that there exist many others who wouldn't be. And at the begining it's hard to tell one apart from the other, so better not give anyone any ammunition so to speak, before you know the person well enough to tell which category they belong to. That kind of a man or a woman, will unfortunately find it much harder to navigate the dating scene. That said, if they are high functioning, by the time they've grown up and are ready to date they are in all likelihood aware of the facts that people sometimes lie, as well as that people behave differently than they themselves would if the roles were reversed. It depends on the individual of course, but autistic people are capable of developing the skill if they have a well meaning friend, family…

Haha well spotted, a staggeringly high number of people ignores a blatantly obvious parade of red flags and are then absolutely gobsmacked when it all implodes. Love apparently cloaks reason completely in red, so red flags look like just flags I guess. I meant more along the lines of people being very obvious in the wording of their questions of what they consider a desirable outcome. Then that leads to unknowingly and foolishly allowing others to feed them the correct answer and them then patti…

The main point would be that that hypothetical man and woman in question are incompatible. And neither side is necessarily more right or wrong than the other. Well sure, he could be. But such a man is likely to find a better fit if he realised that the mere fact of asking the question in such a way is saying something about him that might be offputting to some women, as well as giving her an insight into his values that she may not use in his best interest if it clashes with her own.

Oh no, I absolutely do believe in clear communication in relationships, otherwise what's the point. I just think that the period leading to it should be used wisely to spot any incompatibilities that the other person might not readily volunteer, so there is minimal time wasting on both sides. Yes, I very much agree with you that it's not healthy to bring past issues and baggage into a new relationship. I definitelly agree, the blunt approach will just warn them that there is a right answer, and in vast majority of the cases it's very easy fo figure out what is it based on how the question is worded. And yes, very true, if you are listening more than talking and know how to make people feel at ease, they will tell you all you need to know themselves, with minimal prompting from you. You should know more than enough in anywhere from couple of dates to couple of months to draw your own conculsion…

Fair enough. But my point was that disregarding other data that people give out other then their words and answers raises the risk for ending up in an unsatisfactory, or even worse, a bad relationship. I meant more for the questions that are important and that indicate compatibility. If you are interested in the actual truth, there is a better way to ask the questions that will tell you what you need to know instead of the direct approach that will put someone on their guard and give away the an…

Yes I agree. Someone's behaviour is much more indicative of the truth then things they say (assuming those two things clash). And people are much more comfortable doing something they did before, once the ice has already been broken. So if someone had ONS before, they'll do it again more easily. Oh absolutely, if you project the nonjudgmental and nonchalant air and are not numbering dealbreakers, they are more likely to organically confide in you. Also, if for some reason they are now modest and…

I do agree with you about that being the crux. Imo selection with most people is not that hard, skilled manipulators are rare. Where people usually go wrong is that they vet how someone makes them feel, and everything else is a very distant second. I mean I get it, connections are tough to find, so when it's finally there, common sense goes out the window. People often reveal themselves in questions they ask you, those are things near and dear to their heart. E.g. Women often have the mindset of…

Everything is hightened when you are a teenager, and rare are the lucky ones who escape unscathed and unscuffed by the tempestuous years. That's just online dating for you. There is no preselction of having met through college/work/church/friends so you have to really know how to vet people, and can't rely on having the social circle doing it for you. And you are going to have to sort through heaps of incompatible people along the way, so you have to be prepared for an uphill battle. Yes, the desperation does often lead to an endless loop from which it's very hard to escape. Because everyone else can smell it a mile off, that makes the escape even harder. People do value people who have more options, it's a sad truth. Well generally sure, but it's more like people who are aware and confident wont entertain the desperate, because they have no need for that kind of validation and attention.

I mostly disagree, though not fully. It might be because I come from a European country and our standards differ, but I do have close male friends with whom there is mutual no romantic or sexual potential, at all, on both sides. I was raised with lots of male and female friends from childhood, so having friends of both gender was very much normalized.
