Or just don't be black and do drugs...white people have similar usage rates and are arrested and jailed far less for the same crime.

Drug usage rates among the races are similar but black folks are arrested at a much higher rate while white folks are usually let off with a warning or pay a fine. This was the driving factor for Washington DC to legalize recreational marijuana a few years back. Minorities were being targeted and jailed at an unacceptable rate vs their white counterparts.

How do you know she wasn't? I had perfect parents and I made some fantastically awful choices in my life. This girl is old enough to be responsible for her own actions without trying to shift the blame to mom.

I mean, her howling was over the top but I don't know how you surmised that this woman's actions are entirely a result of her mother. There are plenty of people who have super shitty parents and go onto being stellar adults. There are also plenty of people with great parents that go onto be criminals. Maybe you know more about these people than what I read in the article, but I can't see how this could be considered mom's fault.
