Genes aren't the problem in the vast majority of cases, but lack of proper development in the muscles maxillofacial that don't properly support the bone growth. Ugliness is preventable if you haven't gone through puberty yet.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/02/26 12:02 PM

Humans aren't lobsters, we can't just go through puberty again to reroll our bones. Plastic surgery might help some though.

The modern man is deficient compared to his counterpart. We used to spent our entire lives, and, more importantly, formative years chewing hard foods and exercising non-stop, which ensured our skulls and therefore faces developed correctly. The agrarian revolution changed this and we started seeing the first ugly faces not related to disease or damage. The industrial revolution and now the current digital age further exacerbate this deficiency by encouraging even less exercise, producing ever mo…

Not all smiles are equal. Smiles from uglier people are less beautiful and therefore less welcomed. This seems pretty obvious and I feel like you're deluding yourself by implying that the only bad smiles are those forced. People with a full set of teeth have an uglier smile than those without.

I mean, is this aimed at lonely men? Yes, the title of the article is "New dating manual should pep guys to break the loneliness". I've added the full translation to the op.

I think it's a good thing this issue is being acknowledged and effort is going trying to help. But my god this is worthless and filled with the same dogshit advice found everywhere online. Also, in the section of where to meet people it lists dating apps (LMAO), gym and the workplace, which I find extremely irresponsible due to the repercussions a bad interaction might have.

In the sense of "I'm not physically attracted to this person, so I won't date them", sure, but in the case of "I'm not having any luck in dating, is it my looks?" absolutely no. People will say their hard time is actually caused by 10000 other things before even considering what everyone can plainly see. Also I didn't just say it was about looks factoring in attraction, but also the why and the improving part. You can't really talk about face ratios and possible fixes through surgery without peo…

It's the general sentiment I've seen expressed, especially among BPs. I'm referring to things like saying that every single person is attractive since beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or that failure to get dates is actually because the man in question is secretly an awful person and everyone can read tell by somehow reading his mind, as opposed to the less insulting and likely option; him just being fuck ugly. Also I didn't just say it was about looks factoring in attraction, but also the …

Society cannot make you attractive to people. No, but society could stop making these kind of discussions a taboo topic so people in need can better understand exactly what makes someone attractive and the steps necessary to get there.

How is a young woman on OF taking advantage of these men? There are several who claim they'll also personally chat with you. In reality of course, you're either chatting with AI, or her manager/whoever else she might've hired for it. Lonely men also seek to bond emotionally, to have someone who actually cares, which the "woman" chatting with him through OF will obviously pretend to be. These women know what they're doing, it's despicable way to monetize their loneliness and I can't wait until AI…

the ones that you are stuck with don’t show anything about who you are They don't, but because of the halo/horn effect, they still affect how other people perceive your character. They are not separate at all.

I agree with you, I'm merely saying that trying will still likely mean failure for these people, otherwise it wouldn't be a problematic epidemic.

but you need to look for that if you don't have it. Sure, but it's easier said than done. Try to imagine the kind of person that would end up in this situation, how did they get there? It's likely that it wasn't their choice. Maybe they have a disability, maybe they were bullied at school, are ugly, autistic, etc. A regular, well-adjusted person may have a tough time forming a friend group on their own, the maladjusted guys are facing a daunting task and are, frankly, unlikely to succeed. Which …

It is normal, the problem is that there's a subset of men that don't have that, they're the ones who're having issues and are more at risk of developing mental issues because of it. And as the years pass, this number is steadily increasing.

Oh yeah, it's all a big conspiracy, all those men killing themselves are doing it with ulterior motives. Come on dude.

That's a valid perspective to have, but for the people who want to try despite the odds, what I said above applies.

If you want to find someone, you need to go on dates with people. The chances to have a good date while not dating is 0%, while if you do the opposite, the chances are above zero. How much higher doesn't matter, trying is the only thing you can do, so the more you roll the dice, the quicker you'll find someone. Which is why the opportunity to do so is important.

Not every date is bad, they just have a chance to be. They also could be good. If you want good dates, you need to go out on dates. For the sake of discussion, let's say that just 1 in 10 will be a good and is equal for both men and women, so both, at worst, will waste their time with 9 people before finding one they like. Take a man and a woman, if both are equally motivated and proactive in their search find someone, which one of the two do you think will be able to reach that goal faster?

My point is that it’s not easy peasy for women either like a lot of men here like the say. I wouldn't say it's easy, but it's definitely easier. Dates for men are just as likely to be bad, they just have fewer of them, which is strictly worse.

So I don’t want to go on multiple dates with someone I didn’t enjoy going on a date with the first time. You shouldn't, it's absolutely understandable, it just seemed an odd point to me. The apps are just not designed with that slow build up in mind, so going in multiple dates would be the only way to emulate it. Yes am I aware that women have an easier time getting a date. My point is that dating itself isn’t actually that much better. The fact that you have more options makes it better, if for…

My first impression is that they are kinda arrogant. Most likely we aren’t going on a second date. So I never have the change to actually get to know them better. Dude, what? Are you complaining that you don't get to know people from dating apps because you don't give yourself the chance to get to know them better? Because there's an easy solution there, just agree to go on more dates and find out if you actually like them lmao One of the reasons I wanted to make this post is because im tired of…

You're attractive enough to get shown some interest, that doesn't happen to every man.

Well, if she wants to screw you, she wouldn't say "He annoyed me by saying hi to me" it'll be closer to "That creep is making me feel uncomfortable" and people will 100% side with her in that scenario.

Are all girls that make the first step. Congratulations, you're attractive. Your experiences won't be the same for the average man.

I suppose we disagree when the movement officially starts within the first wave then, I consider it is when an official organization (NAAFA) is founded. But that's a matter of technicality, even if you don't think that Fabrey started the movement, he and Louderback were there very early on to help in a highly proactive way for the sake of their wives. Why couldn't that empathy also extend to the issue of male loneliness?

What delusional planet are you living in where men started the body positivity movement for women? Planet Earth, you may have heard of it, it's the one with the water and the giraffes. In 1967, Lew Louderback wrote an article in the Saturday Evening Post called "More People Should be FAT" in response to discrimination against his wife. The article led to a meeting between Louderback and William Fabrey, who went on to found the first organization for fat people and their supporters, originally na…

Those other sources need to start with men People always say that, but I don't get it. Why does it need to start with men? The body positivity movement for women wasn't started by a woman. I believe it is very important in the cause for loneliness in particular to get help/acknowledgement from women considering how often people jump to call these men incels when they try to talk about it.

This is unpopular What you wrote here isn't unpopular, it's just vague nonsense. Not every person who's single is a bad listener. Further, not every person in a relationship is a good listener. It's just a nice trait to have, it's not the single reason you can't date people. "But I did do all those things!" Then you still aren't listening. It isn't just listening to a group. Its listening to individuals too. Well isn't this convenient? hey guys I want dating advice just take a shower bro, it isn…

Good facial features are considered attractive largely because they're markers of desirable genetic traits. A good jaw signifies a strong bite and proper facio dental growth, for example. Even if you don't want children, the need to pass on good genes to our offspring is what determines what you see as attractive. All this to say that, certain traits are universally desired (or near enough for it to not really matter). A conventionally attractive man in the US will still be as alluring to the pe…

Exactly and that's why there is no future in this. There are men that are just worthless in the dating market. They already go out and see couples enjoying themselves all the time and they already feel miserable for it now. The only thing that will change with the advent of AI girlfriends is that they'll at least get to pretend that they're desired by someone. I'm personally all for it, since the alternative is the nothing we have right now. Might even stop some guys from killing themselves.

I can see this drastically changing the dating landscape when we get to the sex robot stage. A lot of men just want sex, so when the robots get good enough at it these men will just stop trying to date women and be content with fucking their fake waifus. It very well may end up balancing the dating market.

In the end, I think even the most devout of losers are going to have to come to grips with the fact that their toasters are never going to love them or anything else. I'd bet most of them will understand this, but the fact is that a good chunk of men are simply unattractive or too isolated from society, so this would be their only option. Those lonely men will be the primary market for this. It is a lie, but it's not like they have a choice in the matter.

women are less visual Women can appreciate attractiveness in the opposite sex just as much as men. They just have a narrower scope for what they consider attractive compared to men. Take a look at this clip. Do you actually believe they were all acting like that because they were attracted to his personality?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
