Well if they started persecuting people for false rape claims then women who were raped would have a fear of not being able to prove what happened to them and then going to prison themselves (or whatever the punishment would be).

It is controversial because when a woman becomes pregnant, even though the responsibility for the action is equally split between the two, the man has absolutely 0% say in whether the woman keeps the baby or has an abortion. Furthermore, in our society it is standard that the mother receives custody for the child unless she can be proven an unfit mother while the father forks over 30-60% of his income for the next 18 years to a woman who may not treat his child right. If it is solely the man's responsibility to prevent pregnancy then men should have the right to tell a woman to get an abortion. To counterpoint, the woman is responsible because without her inaction, ie taking her birth control method of choice, completely within her control, she would not be pregnant. Not disagreeing or agreeing with you, but your sentence structure and logic could use some work. You say he was not backed into a corner and then say he backed himself into a corner. He cannot be backed into a corner and not backed into a corner at the same time. A better statement would have been: "If he didn't want to get some woman pregnant, then he should not have had sex."
